PRAGMATA Platforms, Editions, and System Requirements: What to Check Before Buying

PRAGMATA is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC. The right purchase depends on the hardware you already own, your display and portability priorities, and whether your PC matches the published Windows 11 requirements. The game has no cross-play or cross-save, while the Deluxe Edition adds the Shelter Variety Pack rather than different story content.

At a glance: platforms, release dates, and the basic choice

Capcom lists four supported platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The general release date was April 17, 2026. Nintendo Switch 2 launched on April 24, 2026 in Japan and other parts of Asia, so buyers in those regions should use the local date rather than assuming every territory received the console version simultaneously.

Capcom has described PRAGMATA as a new intellectual property with an original world and gameplay concept. The company also reported more than two million units sold worldwide in its first 16 days; that is a Capcom-reported milestone, not an independent market-size measurement.

What platforms is PRAGMATA on?

PlayStation 5

The PS5 version is designed for Sony’s current console generation. Capcom lists 2160p output, HDR, and ray tracing, plus hardware-specific motion sensors, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback. Those features matter most if you use a compatible DualSense controller and a 4K HDR display. The basic game content is the same as on the other versions; the difference is how the console and controller present it.

Xbox Series X and Series S

Both current Xbox models are supported. The published distinctions are resolution targets: 2160p for Xbox Series X and 1440p for Series S. HDR and ray tracing are listed for the Xbox family. Choose the edition associated with the Xbox account and console you actually use, because saves do not transfer to other platforms.

Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo’s listing identifies PRAGMATA as a Switch 2 game, not an original-Switch release. It supports TV, tabletop, and handheld play. The listed output is 1080p in TV mode and 900p in tabletop or handheld mode, with HDR and amiibo support. The US listing reports a 13.2 GB file size; leave additional space for system data, updates, and any downloadable content.

If you are shopping in Japan or another part of Asia, check the local storefront because the regional Switch 2 launch date was April 24, 2026 rather than the April 17 general date.

Windows PC

The PC version is sold through Steam and requires Windows 11 64-bit according to the store listing. It offers selectable resolution and screen mode, with HDR and ray tracing dependent on your graphics hardware and display. Mouse and keyboard are supported, as are several console controllers documented by Capcom.

Can my PC run PRAGMATA?

Use the following as a compatibility baseline, not a guarantee that every desktop, laptop, or shared-memory configuration will perform identically. The processor and graphics-card names are the minimum and recommended tiers shown by Steam.

Steam recommends installing the game on an SSD. Ray tracing has a higher graphics threshold: Steam says an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT with 12 GB or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 12 GB is required. That ray-tracing requirement is separate from the ordinary minimum and recommended tiers.

How to check a Windows PC before purchasing

1. Confirm Windows edition and architecture. Open Settings > System > About and check that Windows is Windows 11 and the system type is 64-bit. A 32-bit installation or an older Windows release does not match the listed requirement.
2. Record the processor. In Settings > System > About, note the exact CPU model. Compare the full model, not just a family name such as “Core i5” or “Ryzen 5,” with the minimum and recommended rows.
3. Check installed memory. The same About page shows installed RAM. PRAGMATA lists 16 GB for both tiers, so a machine with less than 16 GB is below the published baseline.
4. Identify the active graphics processor and VRAM. Open Settings > System > Display > Advanced display, then use Task Manager > Performance > GPU for the model and dedicated memory. Match the discrete GPU and its VRAM to the table rather than relying on a retailer’s generic “gaming” label.
5. Check DirectX. Press Windows key + R, enter dxdiag, and read the DirectX version on the System tab. The listing calls for DirectX 12.
6. Measure free storage. In File Explorer, right-click the target drive and choose Properties. Reserve at least the listed 40 GB, plus room for Windows updates, shader caches, and downloadable content. An SSD is the preferred installation drive.
7. Check the laptop caveat. If this is a notebook, verify whether the named GPU is a mobile variant and whether the game will use the discrete adapter rather than integrated graphics. Capcom warns that a mobile GPU with the same model number can perform substantially worse than the corresponding desktop card.
8. Check memory sharing. Integrated graphics and configurations that borrow system RAM for video memory are not guaranteed to operate normally. A discrete GPU with its own VRAM is the safer match for the published specifications.

What the PC performance estimates actually mean

The 1080p/45-fps minimum figure is associated with Steam’s Performance preset, while the 1080p/60-fps recommended figure is associated with Balanced. They are store estimates, not an independent benchmark or a promise that frame rate will never fall. Steam specifically warns that graphics-intensive scenes may cause drops in either tier.

Resolution, upscaling options, background applications, driver versions, cooling, power limits, and laptop power mode can all change the result. If your system is close to a listed tier, use the lower preset first, close unnecessary applications, update the graphics driver, and monitor temperatures and GPU utilization. Do not assume that meeting the CPU and GPU names guarantees ray tracing; the separate 12 GB RX 6700 XT or RTX 3060 requirement applies to that feature.

Capcom does not guarantee normal operation with onboard graphics. It also cautions that devices sharing video memory with main memory can behave differently from a conventional discrete-GPU setup. These warnings are why a nominally similar laptop or compact PC should not be judged by the model number alone.

Which PRAGMATA edition should you buy?

Steam lists Standard and Deluxe editions. Both contain the base game. Deluxe adds the Shelter Variety Pack, and Steam says the pack is also sold separately. If you already own the pack, buying Deluxe can duplicate content.

The Shelter Variety Pack is listed as downloadable content on Nintendo’s US store page as well. Confirm that the DLC and the base game use the same platform and account region before buying.

How the platform versions differ

Capcom says the basic content is the same across versions. Hardware and controller capabilities account for the principal differences.

Choose based on the equipment you already own. A PS5 owner with a compatible HDR television may value its controller features, while a Switch 2 owner may prioritize portable play. A PC buyer gains adjustable display settings but also assumes responsibility for meeting the hardware baseline and managing drivers.

Does PRAGMATA have cross-play or cross-save?

No. Capcom states that crossplay and cross-saves are not supported. A purchase on one platform therefore does not let you play against users on another platform through a shared cross-platform matchmaking system, and progress is not carried automatically between PlayStation, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC.

Decide where you will spend most of your time before buying. If you move between a console and a PC, plan on treating them as separate versions and separate save environments.

Controller and input compatibility on PC

Capcom says normal operation is guaranteed with Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, DualShock 4, DualSense, and mouse-and-keyboard options for the Steam version. The support information also clarifies that mouse controls are not supported when using the listed controller setup. Connect the input device you intend to use and confirm the current support page if you are considering a third-party controller or an unusual adapter.

On consoles, use the platform’s native controller and account. On PC, test button mapping and whether the game is detecting the desired device before starting a long session; switching between controller and mouse during play can change which input prompts appear.

Region, account, and DLC checks

Capcom warns that it cannot guarantee normal operation when the game software, hardware, additional content, saved data, updates, or account region do not match. This is particularly important when importing a physical copy, buying DLC from a different storefront region, or using an account that was created in another country.

Choose PlayStation 5 when

1. Identify the platform you will actually use: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, or Windows PC.
2. For PC, compare the exact CPU, discrete GPU model, VRAM, 16 GB of RAM, Windows 11 64-bit installation, DirectX 12, and 40 GB of free space.
3. Treat 1080p/45 and 1080p/60 as Steam estimates with possible drops, not guaranteed frame rates.
4. Choose Standard or Deluxe after checking whether you want the Shelter Variety Pack and whether you already own it.
5. Confirm display, portability, controller, account-region, and DLC compatibility.
6. Remember that there is no cross-play or cross-save, so the platform decision also determines where multiplayer access and progress remain.
