Porta Nubi does not have a documented Bluetooth-pairing, external-tracker or calibration procedure on iPhone Duo. The verified interaction model uses the phone’s physical pose and direct touch: closing the device enters the cloud view, opening it returns to the exterior puzzle, and the partly folded Book pose displays two virtual sticks.
That distinction matters because the available iPhone Duo evidence is a 183-second developer-provided simulator recording, not a test of shipping hardware or a final build. If the app fails to recognize a pose or does not respond to touch, the evidence currently provides no Porta Nubi-specific repair step. You can identify the expected state precisely and report the mismatch, but you should not treat generic restart, reinstall, screen-cleaning, calibration or repair advice as a verified fix.
What Porta Nubi is actually controlling
Porta Nubi is a light-path puzzle by Michael Temper. Apple’s description reduces the objective to a single sentence: “The goal of Porta Nubi is simple: guide a beam of light from point A to point B.” Solving a level involves mirrors, portals and other optical devices; the App Store Awards copy also describes manipulating light from inside clouds.

The iPhone Duo behavior documented so far is not an accessory connection layered on top of the game. It is a pose-aware interface. The phone’s folded state changes the scene, while touch input operates the controls that appear in that state. In other words, “tracking” in a player’s description may really mean pose recognition, not location tracking of an object or a Bluetooth tracker.

iPhone Duo poses and the behavior you should see
The following map is the most useful first diagnostic. Start with the physical pose, then compare the display with the documented result before trying to diagnose pairing or touch.
| Pose | Physical action | Documented result | Control implication | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Closed | Fold the Duo shut | The player goes into a cloud view | The scene changes through folding; no accessory pairing is described | Shown in developer-provided simulator footage |
| Open | Reopen the Duo | The outside puzzle view returns | The exterior puzzle is restored through the phone’s pose | Shown in developer-provided simulator footage |
| Book (partly folded) | Hold the phone in the partly folded Book position | Two virtual sticks appear on the lower portions of the display | Touch the on-screen sticks; their appearance is the documented control cue | Shown in developer-provided simulator footage |
FoldHunt labels this footage as simulator-verified and explicitly notes that it is prerelease material. No shipping iPhone Duo hardware or shipping Porta Nubi build was tested in that recording. Treat the table as an expected interaction model, not a guarantee that every final device will behave identically.

Pairing: why there is no Porta Nubi pairing sequence to follow
Neither the reviewed App Store material nor the iPhone Duo recording publishes a Bluetooth setup, accessory list, account-pairing flow or pairing code. The documented controls are the phone’s fold state, ordinary touch input and the two virtual sticks shown in Book pose.

If you are looking for a Bluetooth device
Do not search for a Porta Nubi tracker, controller or companion accessory based on the game’s pose changes. Nothing in the available evidence says that one is required. A request to select a device, enter a pairing code or grant a Bluetooth connection would therefore be outside the documented flow and should be treated as an app or platform issue requiring support clarification.
If the game opens but does not react to folding
- Record whether the phone is fully Closed, fully Open or partly folded in Book pose.
- Observe the scene before touching the screen. Closed should lead to the cloud view; Open should return to the outside puzzle; Book should show two virtual sticks near the lower display areas.
- Compare the result with the expected row in the pose table. If the display does not change as documented, the failure is pose recognition or build behavior, not a missing Bluetooth step.
- Keep the device pose, the visible screen and the app version available for a support report. The evidence does not establish a user-side pairing remedy.
Why generic pairing advice can mislead
Instructions such as toggling Bluetooth, removing an accessory from a device list or resetting a pairing record address a different product pattern. They are not Porta Nubi-specific fixes supported by the available documentation. Applying them may consume time without addressing a pose-detection failure.
“Tracking” problems: distinguish pose recognition from external tracking
Porta Nubi’s documented iPhone Duo interaction does not describe GPS, a camera-based object tracker, a room-mapping setup or a separate tracking beacon. The meaningful diagnostic question is therefore: did the app recognize the phone’s Closed, Open or Book pose and present the corresponding scene or controls?
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Use this pose check
- Begin in the Open position and note whether the exterior puzzle view is visible.
- Close the Duo and wait for the scene transition described in the recording: the player should move into clouds.
- Open the device again and check for the return to the outside puzzle.
- Hold the device partly folded in Book pose and look for two virtual sticks on the lower portions of the display.
If one transition fails, write down the exact starting pose, ending pose and screen result. “Tracking is broken” is less useful than “Book pose stayed on the exterior view and no virtual sticks appeared.” The reviewed sources contain no calibration routine, tracking-permission sequence or tested recovery procedure for a failed transition.

What a failed pose check establishes
A mismatch establishes that the observed build or hardware did not produce the documented result in that moment. It does not establish whether the cause is a sensor, hinge-state interpretation, operating-system compatibility issue, prerelease software defect or a final-build change. Avoid assigning one of those causes without an official explanation or a tested reproduction.
Touchscreen and virtual-stick troubleshooting
The only documented on-screen control specific to the Duo is the pair of virtual sticks that appears in Book pose. They are expected on the lower portions of the display, so first verify the pose before treating their absence as a touchscreen fault.
When the virtual sticks are missing
- Confirm that the phone is partly folded in Book pose rather than fully Open or Closed.
- Check the lower areas of both display sections for the two virtual sticks shown in the simulator recording.
- If the screen remains in another scene or the sticks never appear, record that state as a pose or interface mismatch.
- Do not infer that a stylus, case, screen protector or replacement part is required. The reviewed material does not identify any such accessory as a solution.
When the sticks appear but touch does not register
Separate an input failure from a display-state failure. If both sticks are visible, the app has at least reached the documented Book-pose interface; if a tap or drag on one stick produces no response, describe the exact control, display side and gesture that failed. The available sources do not publish a touchscreen calibration screen, gesture-reset command or repair procedure for Porta Nubi.
When only one side responds
Note whether the nonresponsive area is the left or right lower display, whether the other stick moves, and whether the behavior changes after moving to Open or Closed pose. This information is more actionable than a general claim that “touch is broken,” while still avoiding an unsupported diagnosis. There is no evidence-based instruction to open the phone, replace a digitizer or alter system touch settings for this app.

Why common phone fixes are not verified here
Restarting, reinstalling, cleaning the screen, recalibrating touch or repairing hardware may be reasonable steps for some general phone problems, but none is documented or tested as a Porta Nubi remedy in the reviewed material. Presenting them as guaranteed fixes would overstate what is known. If you try a general device action on your own, record it as an experiment rather than a Porta Nubi-supported procedure and do not assume that a later change proves causation.
Platform and release status
News coverage reports planned support for iPhone Duo, iPhone and iPad on October 23, 2026. The current date is October 18, 2026, so that date is still a planned release date rather than proof that a final Duo build is available everywhere. The captured App Store page lists a Vision Pro version and optional in-app purchases.
| Platform or condition | What is established | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone Duo | Pose behavior is shown in prerelease simulator footage: Closed enters clouds, Open returns outside, Book shows two virtual sticks | Shipping hardware behavior, final build, operating-system requirement and regional availability |
| Standard iPhone | Planned support is reported for October 23, 2026 | The final release scope and exact controls for a non-folding phone |
| iPad | Planned support is reported for October 23, 2026 | The final release scope and any interface differences |
| Vision Pro | A Vision Pro version appears in the captured App Store listing | Whether its controls or feature set correspond to the Duo pose model |
Before treating any troubleshooting result as current, recheck the live App Store listing for the installed app’s version, supported operating systems and regional rollout. Those details can change between a prerelease recording and launch, and the reviewed evidence does not state final requirements.
A precise workflow for reporting an unresolved failure
Because no official repair sequence is documented, a high-quality report should preserve the conditions under which the mismatch occurred. Use the following checklist rather than guessing at a cause.

- Identify the platform. State that you are using iPhone Duo, a standard iPhone, iPad or Vision Pro.
- Capture the software context. Record the Porta Nubi version shown by the device and whether it was installed before or after the reported October 23, 2026 release date.
- Name the pose. Use Closed, Open or Book, and say whether the device was moving between poses or already held in one.
- Describe the expected result. For example, Closed should enter clouds, Open should show the outside puzzle, and Book should display two lower-screen virtual sticks.
- Describe the observed result. Include the scene that remained, which control was absent, or which side failed to respond.
- Separate touch from pose. State whether the virtual sticks were visible and whether taps or drags failed after they appeared.
- Preserve a short recording if permitted. A video showing the starting pose, the fold or unfold motion and the resulting screen can distinguish a transition problem from a touch problem.
- Use the support contact shown on the live App Store listing or inside the current app. Ask whether the behavior is expected for your build and hardware. Do not describe a simulator result as a confirmed shipping-device defect.
This report format does not promise a fix; it gives the developer the information needed to determine whether the issue is a software defect, an unsupported configuration or a change from the prerelease interaction model.
Common misconceptions and the evidence-based answer
| Question | Evidence-based answer |
|---|---|
| Do I pair Porta Nubi with the Duo over Bluetooth? | No Bluetooth pairing flow is documented. The shown interaction uses phone pose and touch. |
| Do I need a separate tracker or beacon? | No external tracker or object-tracking setup is described. |
| Where is the calibration screen? | No Porta Nubi calibration routine is published in the reviewed material. |
| Which pose shows the virtual sticks? | Book, the partly folded pose; the sticks are shown on the lower portions of the display. |
| What should Closed and Open do? | Closed takes the player into clouds; Open returns to the outside puzzle view. |
| Will a case, protector, stylus or repair kit solve the problem? | No such product is identified as a supported solution, and no physical item is established as necessary. |
| Can the simulator recording prove my retail Duo is defective? | No. It is prerelease developer footage and was not a test of shipping hardware or a shipping build. |
What can be concluded today
For iPhone Duo, Porta Nubi should be approached as a pose-and-touch puzzle rather than a paired accessory system. The documented checkpoints are concrete: Closed corresponds to clouds, Open to the exterior puzzle, and Book to two virtual sticks. A failure at one of those checkpoints is currently an unresolved support issue, because the available evidence supplies no tested calibration, tracking, touchscreen-repair or pairing remedy.
The product situation is also time-sensitive. Planned iPhone Duo, iPhone and iPad support is dated October 23, 2026, while the strongest Duo evidence remains prerelease simulator footage. Check the live App Store listing and the installed build after release before drawing conclusions about compatibility, operating-system requirements or regional availability.
