Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are scheduled to launch simultaneously worldwide in 2027, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. The Pokémon Company has not announced a month or day. A November 2027 window has been attributed to a leaker, but it remains unverified; November 18 is reported as an inference, not a date directly established by the leak.
What is the official Pokémon Winds and Waves release date?
The official release window is 2027. In its announcement dated February 27, 2026, The Pokémon Company said the games would launch simultaneously worldwide on Nintendo Switch 2. Neither that announcement nor the official game page reviewed for this article gives a month or a specific day. See The Pokémon Company’s announcement and the official game page.
Why are November and November 18 appearing online?
On September 2, 2026, VICE reported that Pokémon leaker BallGuy claimed a November 2027 release window. VICE distinguished that alleged window from November 18, 2027, describing the exact date circulating online as a prediction based on the rumored window and past release patterns—not a date directly established by the leak. Neither claim is official confirmation. VICE’s report covers the distinction.

Release-window rumors conflict. A September 2, 2026, report by ComicBook.com noted that BallGuy did not cite a source for the November claim and that CentroLeaks had previously claimed September 2027. The outlet characterized these claims as speculative pending confirmation. The disagreement is another reason not to treat either month as settled. Read ComicBook.com’s report.

Is December 31, 2027 a confirmed launch date?
No. Nintendo Life reported on May 20, 2026, that Amazon Germany showed December 31, 2027, on a preorder listing. The outlet identified that date as a retailer placeholder used when the precise release date is unknown; it does not establish a launch day. The same report listed a price of €79.99, but that retailer listing does not confirm the final price, and listings can change. Nintendo Life’s report explains the listing context.

The Pokémon Company describes an open world of windswept islands and a vast ocean, with distinct local ecosystems and natural forces that can obstruct the player. It has also announced three first partner Pokémon: Browt, a Grass-type Bean Chick; Pombon, a Fire-type Puppy; and Gecqua, a Water-type Water Gecko. The company says the player-character outfit differs between versions and that Brazilian Portuguese is supported. Those are announced game details, not clues establishing a launch date. The official announcement and game page provide the confirmed information.
