The two newly revealed Pokémon designs are special Pikachu named Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu. They were introduced alongside Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, but their roles in the games have not been confirmed.
Who are the two new Pokémon designs?
The official Pokémon Day 2026 announcement highlighted a pair of Pikachu with a brand-new look. The games’ official announcement page names them Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu and presents them as special Pikachu.
They are new designs of Pikachu, not announced as new Pokémon species. The official page does not assign them types, abilities, battle mechanics, or personalities, and its text does not describe how their appearances differ. Their names alone do not establish those details.

The special Pikachu were revealed in connection with Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves. The official page asks, “Just how could these Pikachu be involved in your adventure?” and says, “Look forward to future announcements.” That signals a possible connection, but the games’ creators have not confirmed what either Pikachu will do or whether both will appear in each game.
