Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises runs from October 17, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. through November 1, 2026, at 4:59 a.m. local time. It is the fifth major Pokémon Pokopia event and adds Pumpkaboo, Gourgeist, Pumpkin Candy, seasonal furniture and decorations. The event uses the Nintendo Switch 2 system’s local clock, and it will not activate until you have Ver. 2.0.1, completed the town’s important request, rebuilt a Pokémon Center and learned Camouflage from Zorua at Bleak Beach.
When the event is available
The event window is fixed to October 17, 2026, 5:00 a.m. through November 1, 2026, 4:59 a.m. according to the Nintendo Switch 2’s local system time. That means the start and end can occur at different real-world times for players in different time zones.
Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist remain in your town after November 1. The available information does not establish whether Pumpkin Candy exchanges remain open after the event ends, so spend candy before the deadline if you want the listed rewards.
Prerequisites and the event trigger
Complete every requirement below before looking for Pumpkaboo:

- Rebuild the Pokémon Center.
- Learn Camouflage from Zorua at Bleak Beach.
- Set the Nintendo Switch 2 clock to the correct local time. The guide also reports launching the game online once after meeting the requirements.
After those conditions are satisfied, prompt the event check by moving to another town. If it still does not appear, choose Quit Game, then start the game again and re-enter your town.
How to earn Pumpkin Candy
- Find Pumpkaboo near a rebuilt Pokémon Center and befriend it.
- Activate Camouflage to transform into an object or furniture item.
- Move close to Pokémon and surprise them while disguised.
- Collect Pumpkin Candy when a trick succeeds.
- Return to Pumpkaboo at the Pokémon Center and exchange the candy for event items.
Camouflage is the essential ability for the earning loop: without learning it from Zorua at Bleak Beach, the event’s surprise activity cannot be completed.

How to attract Gourgeist
Use the exchanged midnight-festival furniture to build the relevant habitat. That habitat is the attraction method for Gourgeist. Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist are event additions, but both remain in town after November 1 rather than disappearing with the event window.
Why Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises may not start
Check the game version
Open the Switch 2 software update controls and confirm that Pokémon Pokopia is on Ver. 2.0.1. An older build can prevent the event check from running.

Confirm progression requirements
Verify that the town’s important request is complete and that the Pokémon Center has been rebuilt. Having only one of these completed is not enough.
Learn the required ability
Visit Zorua at Bleak Beach and obtain Camouflage. The event’s disguise-and-surprise activity depends on this ability.

Correct the system clock
Because the schedule uses the console’s local time, check the Nintendo Switch 2 date, time and time-zone settings. The guide also recommends matching the console clock to real time.
Launch online once and refresh the check
After meeting the requirements, launch the game online for the first time, move to another town, or quit and re-enter the game. These actions prompt another event availability check.

If your goal is to collect everything with limited time, start with the rewards priced at one or two Pumpkin candies, then buy the three-candy items. The Huge table costs one candy; the Candy bucket, Trevenant Streetlight, Pumpkin lantern, Pumpkin lantern tower and Fun balloons each cost two; Eerie Statue, Cofagrigus locker and Ghost smoke projector each cost three. The sources do not provide a total candy requirement for habitats or the event-exclusive frame, so you cannot calculate a complete collection total from the published prices alone.

What remains after November 1
Gourgeist and Pumpkaboo remain available in the town after the event window. The sources do not confirm whether Pumpkaboo continues exchanging Pumpkin Candy for furniture after November 1, so treat the exchange period as time-limited and redeem candy before 4:59 a.m. local time on November 1.
