The 2026 Pokémon GO Halloween event is split into two local-time parts: Part I runs from October 27 at 10:00 a.m. through November 1 at 10:00 a.m., and Part II continues until November 5 at 8:00 p.m. Part I features costumed Pikachu, Zubat and Sinistea, while Part II brings Shiny Greavard’s debut, Litwick, Rowlet and costumed Gengar. Both parts include Field Research, one-star raids and a shared GO Pass with catch-Candy and catch-Stardust bonuses.

When is the Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 event?

Halloween 2026 uses two consecutive event parts, with the changeover occurring at 10:00 a.m. local time on November 1. The shared GO Pass covers both parts. The dates below are the schedules announced by the Pokémon GO team in October 2026; event details can be revised, so check the current in-game event panel if a timer differs.

Content Start End What it covers
Halloween Part I Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 10:00 a.m. local time Sunday, November 1, 2026, 10:00 a.m. local time Part I wild encounters, costumed debuts, map surprises, research and raids
Halloween Part II Sunday, November 1, 2026, 10:00 a.m. local time Thursday, November 5, 2026, 8:00 p.m. local time Part II wild encounters, Shiny Greavard debut, research, raids and Mega Sableye progression
GO Pass: Halloween 2026 Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 10:00 a.m. local time Thursday, November 5, 2026, 8:00 p.m. local time GO Points, ranks, rewards and event bonuses for the full event

Because the two parts overlap only at the exact handoff, a spawn or task associated with Part I can stop appearing as soon as Part II begins in your time zone. Players traveling between regions should use the local time shown in the game rather than relying on another country’s schedule.

What Pokémon spawn during the Halloween event?

Part I wild encounters

The Part I announcement lists Zubat wearing a top hat, Duskull, Piplup wearing a Halloween Mischief costume and Drifblim wearing a Halloween Mischief costume, among other encounters. These are announced possibilities, not a guarantee that every player will see each species or costume during every hour.

Part I costumed debuts

Three new costumed forms debut in Part I: Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet, Zubat wearing a top hat, and Sinistea wearing a bow. The announcement says a Shiny version may be encountered if you are lucky. “May be encountered” means the Shiny outcome is chance-based; finding the costume does not guarantee its Shiny form.

Part II wild encounters

Part II lists Litwick, Rowlet wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume, Greavard and Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume, among other Pokémon. As with Part I, the list describes possible wild encounters rather than a guaranteed appearance rate for every player.

Shiny Greavard’s first opportunity

Part II is the first opportunity to encounter Shiny Greavard in Pokémon GO. The form may appear in the wild or as a reward from the GO Pass and Field Research. Neither route guarantees a Shiny: you may need multiple encounters before one appears.

How do the Part I trick-or-treat map surprises work?

During Part I, mischievous Pokémon can leave spooky surprises on the map. Tap one when it appears to reveal a chance-based reward. The announced possibilities are an event-themed Pokémon encounter, Pikachu Candy, Zubat Candy, Sinistea Candy or Rare Candy.

  • A surprise can produce an encounter or an item; the announcement does not promise a fixed reward for every tap.
  • Candy rewards are specifically associated with Pikachu, Zubat and Sinistea, so this feature can supplement catching those costumed debuts.
  • Because the feature is limited to Part I, use remaining Part I play time before the November 1, 10:00 a.m. local-time transition.

What is the Halloween GO Pass?

The free GO Pass is a temporary progression track shared by both event parts. The Pokémon GO team defines it as “A GO Pass is a free, limited-time progression track available during a specified period.” You collect GO Points, increase your rank and unlock rewards as you progress. The pass is optional; normal wild encounters, research and raids remain available without buying Deluxe.

Rank-based bonuses

Rank 10 2× Candy for catching Pokémon 3× Candy for catching Pokémon
Rank 20 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon

Rank 10 and Rank 20 are the specifically announced bonus milestones. The announcements also refer to additional bonus tasks without publishing their complete requirements, so do not assume an undisclosed task or multiplier.

Rewards and Deluxe pricing

The free track includes event-themed Pokémon encounters, Candy, Rare Candy and Ultra Balls. Deluxe adds rewards such as additional encounters, Rare Candy XL, Premium Battle Passes and avatar clothing. The announced prices are US$7.99 for Deluxe and US$9.99 for Deluxe plus 10 ranks. Equivalent local pricing and regional availability can differ.

Deluxe plus 10 ranks US$9.99, with equivalent local pricing caveats Deluxe rewards plus 10 ranks added immediately, subject to regional availability and the pass rules shown in-game

Rewards you have unlocked in the pass expire on November 7, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time. That is two days after the event ends, so open the pass and claim every earned item before that deadline. An unclaimed reward is not the same as an unearned reward: ranking up alone does not remove the need to collect it.

What Field Research and raid encounters are available?

Field Research

Event-themed Field Research is announced for both parts. Completing tasks can award encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Part II specifically names Greavard as available through Field Research and the GO Pass. The official announcements do not publish the full task wording or a complete reward table, so the task you receive at a PokéStop may not match another player’s task.

One-star raids

One-star raids in both event announcements include Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet and Sinistea wearing a bow. These raid appearances provide another route to the costumed forms, but a raid win does not guarantee a Shiny result.

Choosing an encounter route

Route Best use Guarantee to remember
Wild spawn Check the map frequently for Part I or Part II species and costumed forms Listed species are possible encounters, not guaranteed spawns
Trick-or-treat surprise Part I chance at Candy, Rare Candy or an event-themed encounter Each tap can yield a different result
Field Research Complete event tasks for announced event-themed encounters, including possible Shiny Greavard in Part II The full task and reward list is not published in advance
One-star raid Target costumed Pikachu or bow-wearing Sinistea Winning the raid does not guarantee a Shiny
GO Pass Earn rank rewards and Part II Greavard encounters Shiny outcomes remain chance-based

What changes for Mega Sableye in Part II?

Part II introduces the ability to raise Mega Sableye to Super Max level. Sableye must reach Max level before it can advance to Super Max, and Mega Energy is required to power it up. While Mega Evolved, it can use the additional Charged Attack Night Shade+.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Night Shade+ mode Announced power
Trainer Battles 55
Raid Battles 160

The announcement says attack power increases with Mega Level. These are official game-mechanic specifications, not independent test measurements. If your Sableye has not reached Max level, the Super Max step is unavailable until you complete that prerequisite.

How to maximize Candy and Stardust

  1. Start at the correct local time. Confirm whether Part I or Part II is active before planning a spawn hunt. The switch occurs at 10:00 a.m. local time on November 1.
  2. Activate the GO Pass progression. The free track is enough to reach the announced milestones; Deluxe is optional. Collect GO Points and monitor your rank rather than waiting until the final day.
  3. Reach Rank 10 before your largest catch session. The free track’s announced catch-Candy bonus is 2× at Rank 10, or 3× for Deluxe holders.
  4. Use Part I surprises. Tap spooky map surprises for possible Pikachu, Zubat or Sinistea Candy, Rare Candy or an encounter.
  5. Catch the species you actually need. Prioritize costumed debuts in Part I and Greavard in Part II, but treat every Shiny as a possibility rather than a target with a guaranteed outcome.
  6. Reach Rank 20 for Stardust farming. The announced catch-Stardust multiplier is 2× on the free pass and 3× with Deluxe.
  7. Complete event Field Research while the relevant part is active. Research can provide encounters, and Part II tasks can be a route to Greavard.
  8. Claim rewards promptly. Even though the event ends November 5, pass rewards remain claimable only until November 7 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Why you might not see a listed Pokémon or bonus

  • Wrong event part: A Part I costume or map surprise may disappear when Part II begins, and Part II species are not expected before its start.
  • Chance-based encounter: “May encounter” language describes an eligible possibility, not a spawn promised to every account.
  • Rank not reached: The Candy and Stardust multipliers apply at the stated GO Pass milestones; buying Deluxe does not replace the need to progress unless you purchase the separate 10-rank option.
  • Unclaimed reward: Check the GO Pass reward screen after ranking up. Earned items still need to be collected before the November 7 deadline.
  • Incomplete information in announcements: The event pages do not list every Field Research task or every possible reward encounter. Use the task text displayed at the PokéStop as the authoritative requirement for that task.

Quick answers

Is Shiny Greavard guaranteed?

No. Part II is the first opportunity to encounter it, in the wild or through GO Pass and Field Research, but each Shiny encounter is chance-based.

Do I need Deluxe to receive the Halloween bonuses?

No. The free GO Pass includes the progression track and announced 2× bonuses at Ranks 10 and 20. Deluxe raises those stated multipliers to 3× and adds rewards.

When do I have to claim GO Pass rewards?

Claim unlocked rewards by November 7, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This deadline is later than the November 5 event end.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can I get costumed Pikachu without raiding?

Yes. Hat-and-capelet Pikachu is listed among Part I’s new costumed debuts and appears in one-star raids; the announcement also lists event encounters through other routes. The exact route available to you can vary because wild and research encounters are chance-based.

What must Sableye do before Super Max?

Sableye must reach Max level first, and Mega Energy is required to power it up. Super Max progression is introduced in Part II.
