Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
Pokehaan Craft 2 runs on Minecraft Java Edition 1.16.5 with the Forge mod loader. Install it through a supported modpack launcher, allocate at least 2 GB of memory to the client, and use the exact same Pokehaan Craft 2, Forge and Pixelmon versions on every machine. For a self-hosted world, the matching server-files ZIP is the safest starting point; plan on at least 4 GB for the server and roughly 6–8 GB for a small practical server, depending on players, loaded chunks and other mods.
The current project listing identifies release 2.16.4 and a matching PokehaanCraft2-2.16.4-ServerFiles.zip, dated September 7, 2026. Treat that release number as a pair: select the same client profile and server files, rather than combining downloads from different updates.

What Pokehaan Craft 2 is and which versions it uses
Pokehaan Craft 2 is Kehaan’s successor to Pokehaan Craft, built around Pixelmon. CurseForge lists the pack for Minecraft 1.16.5 with Forge. Pixelmon’s official documentation maps that Minecraft version to Pixelmon 9.1.13. Because Pixelmon is a Forge mod for Java Edition, the pack cannot run on Bedrock Edition, console editions or other editions that do not load Forge mods.
| Component | Version or requirement |
|---|---|
| Minecraft | Java Edition 1.16.5 |
| Mod loader | Forge |
| Pixelmon mapping | Pixelmon 9.1.13 for Minecraft 1.16.5 |
| Current listed Pokehaan Craft 2 release | 2.16.4, dated September 7, 2026 |
| Matching server archive | PokehaanCraft2-2.16.4-ServerFiles.zip |
| Client Java requirement | 64-bit Java |
Pack releases bundle many interdependent mods and configuration files. A launcher profile that says “Pokehaan Craft 2” is not automatically interchangeable with another release of the same name. Record the release number before installing, and keep that number in your server notes and backup names.

What you need before installing
- A legitimate Minecraft Java Edition account and the official Minecraft launcher.
- A 64-bit Java installation. A 32-bit Java runtime cannot provide the address space required by a large Forge pack.
- At least 2 GB of assignable RAM for the client. Leave enough physical memory for the operating system and background applications.
- A supported launcher such as CurseForge or another launcher that can install Forge modpacks.
- Enough disk space for the launcher profile, downloaded libraries, the generated world and backups. No fixed disk-space number is published, so keep a generous reserve rather than treating the initial download size as the final footprint.
Close memory-heavy applications during the first launch. The initial run can download libraries, build caches and create configuration files, so it is slower than later launches and may appear idle for periods of time.
Install Pokehaan Craft 2 on a client
- Install and sign in to the official launcher. Confirm that the account owns Java Edition. Bedrock or console ownership alone does not provide a Forge-capable Java installation.
- Install a supported modpack launcher. In CurseForge, open the Minecraft area, choose to browse or search modpacks, and search for Pokehaan Craft 2. Select the current compatible Minecraft 1.16.5 Forge profile rather than creating a blank Forge instance.
- Install the complete profile. Let the launcher obtain the pack’s listed mods, Forge build and configuration files. Do not manually add a different Pixelmon jar or substitute mods from another Minecraft version; that defeats the version lock that makes the pack reproducible.
- Set memory. In the profile’s settings, assign at least 2 GB of RAM. Increase it only when the computer has spare system memory; assigning nearly all physical RAM can starve the operating system and make Java less stable.
- Launch once without joining a server. Wait for Forge to finish loading, then verify that the title screen appears and the mod list opens without an error. This separates a client installation problem from a later network or server problem.
- Create or import a world. Start with a test world, check that terrain and Pixelmon features load, and only then move an established save into the profile. Keep the original save untouched until the new profile has opened it successfully.
If the launcher offers more than one Pokehaan Craft 2 entry, open the profile details and write down its release number. The client you install is the client that every server participant must reproduce.
Choose between local self-hosting and a paid host
A local server is useful for testing, development or a small group that is physically on the same network. The official server guidance describes local-hosting instructions as generally limited to people on that local network. Allowing players on the wider internet requires router and firewall configuration, exposes a service to unsolicited traffic and makes you responsible for uptime, updates and recovery.

| Decision point | Local self-hosting | Paid hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Reachability | Primarily the local network unless you configure remote access | Designed for remote players through a hosted address |
| Setup effort | You install Forge, import files, configure networking and maintain the machine | The provider supplies a control panel and server environment |
| Hardware | Uses your computer’s CPU, memory, storage and connection | Uses the host’s allocated RAM, CPU and storage plan |
| Backups | You must schedule, test and store them | Availability and retention depend on the selected plan |
| Pack updates | You manually stage and verify matching client/server files | Look for one-click server-pack import and an update workflow |
| Troubleshooting | You diagnose Java, Forge, networking and hardware | You still diagnose mod errors, while the provider handles platform infrastructure |
| Cost | No hosting bill, but electricity, bandwidth and maintenance are yours | Recurring charge in exchange for managed infrastructure |
For a public or continuously available server, the official Pixelmon guidance strongly recommends paid hosting for performance, stability and safety. Compare supported Minecraft and Forge versions, RAM and CPU allocation, backups, world-transfer access, player-slot policy, modpack import/update support and the provider’s recovery process before committing.
Set up a self-hosted Pokehaan Craft 2 server
Use the server archive that exactly matches the client release. For the current listing, that means the 2.16.4 client paired with PokehaanCraft2-2.16.4-ServerFiles.zip. Keep an untouched copy of the ZIP so you can rebuild the server if an edit goes wrong.
- Create a dedicated server directory. Use a folder reserved for this world, separate from your client profile and from unrelated Minecraft servers. This makes backups and permissions easier to manage.
- Download and preserve the matching server-files ZIP. Confirm the release number in the filename or project listing before extracting. Do not silently replace it with an archive from a newer or older release.
- Extract the archive into the dedicated directory. Keep the supplied mods, configuration files, scripts and libraries together. Moving individual files into another Forge installation can create missing-dependency or duplicate-version errors.
- Install and run the included Forge server environment. Follow the startup instructions included with the pack and Pixelmon documentation. Use 64-bit Java and ensure the process can access the memory you intend to allocate.
- Start the server once, then stop it cleanly. The first run creates the world and server configuration files. Read Minecraft’s EULA and set the acceptance only if you agree to it; never accept legal terms blindly.
- Review configuration before inviting anyone. Set server properties and Pixelmon settings deliberately. Keep a copy of the original configuration so you can identify which change caused a later problem.
- Start again and allow world generation to finish. A modded world can generate terrain, structures and Pixelmon data for a considerable time. Watch the console for completion and errors instead of assuming that a slow first start is a crash.
- Prepare the spawn area and backups. Pre-generate a starter region where practical, then create a known-good backup before the first group session. Keep scheduled backups and test that at least one can actually be restored.
The server’s Java process, not the launcher interface, consumes the server memory allocation. Close the graphical client on the host if the same computer is serving and playing; otherwise the two processes compete for RAM and CPU.

Keep every player on the same mod set
Pixelmon’s official guide states that players connecting to a server must use the same Pixelmon version as the server. In practice, the complete identity must match: Minecraft 1.16.5, the Forge loader/build supplied by the pack, the Pokehaan Craft 2 release and the bundled Pixelmon version. A client that is merely “close” can still be rejected.
| Item to compare | What must match |
|---|---|
| Minecraft | 1.16.5 |
| Forge | The build included or required by the selected pack release |
| Pokehaan Craft 2 | The same release number on client and server |
| Pixelmon | The version bundled for that release; Minecraft 1.16.5 maps to 9.1.13 in the official documentation |
| Additional mods | The same files and versions if the server uses any additions |
When distributing instructions to friends, send the release number and tell them to install the same launcher profile rather than assembling mods one by one. This avoids subtle differences in configuration files as well as obvious missing-mod errors.
RAM, Java and performance planning
| Use case | Documented planning figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Client | At least 2 GB assignable RAM | Minimum from the official installation guidance; leave additional physical memory for the operating system |
| Server minimum | At least 4 GB allocated, preferably more | Official server guidance; not a guarantee for every player count or mod combination |
| Most Pixelmon servers | At least 6 GB | Current Pixelmon Wiki guidance for planning a typical server |
| Average server with a small player base | 8 GB is sufficient | Current Pixelmon Wiki guidance, assuming ordinary workload rather than heavy exploration or many additions |
These figures are starting points, not performance guarantees. Player count, loaded chunks, view distance, extra mods, world-generation activity and CPU speed all change the result. More memory cannot compensate for a slow processor or uncontrolled chunk generation, and the performance guide warns that excessive allocation can make Java garbage collection worse.

Practical tuning sequence
- Begin with the documented allocation appropriate to your role: client or server.
- Keep view distance conservative while the world is new and watch tick performance during exploration.
- Pre-generate the area around spawn and common travel routes where practical. This moves expensive terrain generation away from live play.
- Monitor memory use and tick rate during a normal session, including several players travelling in different directions.
- Increase memory only when monitoring shows that the process is genuinely constrained and the host still has operating-system headroom.
A server that pauses while generating fresh terrain may need pre-generation or a lower view distance rather than another memory increase. Record each change so you can revert to the last stable configuration.

Players on the same local network
Start the server on the host computer, wait until the console shows that startup and world generation have completed, and give local players the host’s local address and configured server port. The official local-hosting instructions are intended mainly for this network-local scenario. Every joining player still needs the identical modpack and versions.
Players outside your network
Remote access requires network configuration beyond the modpack itself, typically involving the host’s firewall, router and a stable address. Those settings vary by hardware and internet provider, and exposing a game service creates security and availability responsibilities. Do not publish your home address or disable the firewall broadly just to make a connection work. If remote administration, backups and uptime are important, a managed host is usually the safer operational choice.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
Backups, updates and routine administration
- Back up before every pack update. Stop the server cleanly, copy the world and configuration data, and retain the original server archive and release number.
- Stage updates separately. Install a new pack release in a new directory, test it with a copy of the world, and invite players only after the test succeeds.
- Keep world and configuration backups together. A world without its matching Pixelmon and server settings may not restore correctly.
- Use more than one backup location. A second disk or offline copy protects against a failing host drive or accidental deletion.
- Document changes. Record release numbers, Java version, memory allocation, view distance and any added mods. This turns a future rollback into a repeatable procedure.
- Check restores. Periodically load a backup in a temporary directory. A backup that has never been restored is only an assumption.
Troubleshooting by symptom
The launcher or server will not launch
- Confirm that the installation is Minecraft Java Edition 1.16.5, not Bedrock or another Java version.
- Verify that Java is 64-bit and that Forge is the loader expected by the selected pack release.
- Check that the client or server uses the complete Pokehaan Craft 2 profile rather than a partial manual mod list.
- Confirm that enough memory is assigned and that the operating system still has free memory.
- Read the crash report and latest log before changing files. Remove only a clearly identified conflicting change, then retest from a known-good backup.
“Mod rejection” appears when joining
This almost always indicates a version or file mismatch. Compare the release number, Minecraft version, Forge build, Pixelmon version and any additional mods on both sides. Reinstalling the same launcher profile is safer than copying individual jars until the error disappears.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Loading is extremely slow or the game crashes during exploration
Check memory allocation, lower view distance and inspect the crash report. Let the server finish initial world generation and pre-generate a starter area. Do not add random performance mods before identifying whether Java, Forge, memory or a specific configuration change is responsible.
The server lags when players travel
Exploration creates new chunks and is one of the heaviest workloads for a modded server. Pre-generate commonly used areas, keep view distance conservative and monitor tick performance during travel. If the CPU is saturated, assigning more RAM alone will not solve the bottleneck.
An Apple Silicon Mac has graphics or startup errors
Pixelmon 9.0 and newer on Minecraft 1.16.5 has a documented LWJGL compatibility issue on Apple Silicon. The official installation guidance points affected users toward Prism Launcher and a compatible Java 8 build. Use that compatibility path before editing mod files or downgrading unrelated components.
A reliable launch checklist
- Java Edition account and official launcher installed.
- 64-bit Java selected by the launcher and server process.
- Minecraft 1.16.5 and Forge confirmed.
- Client profile and server archive carry the same Pokehaan Craft 2 release number.
- Client memory meets the documented minimum; server memory is sized for the expected workload.
- Server started once to create files, EULA reviewed and accepted only if agreed to.
- World generated successfully and a starter area pre-generated where practical.
- Server properties and Pixelmon settings backed up before editing.
- Every player installed the identical pack, Forge and Pixelmon versions.
- Backups created and a restore procedure tested before inviting the group.
For most small groups, the dependable path is a clean 1.16.5 Forge client, the exact current Pokehaan Craft 2 release, and the matching server-files ZIP. Keep memory within the documented range, pre-generate where possible, and treat version consistency and backups as higher priorities than simply assigning more RAM.
