The POCO X8 Pro is the better fit if you prioritize its higher-tier listed processor or faster rated charging. The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G gives you a larger 144Hz display and advertises more ingress-protection ratings. Both list 6,500mAh batteries and optically stabilized 50MP main cameras, so those specifications alone do not settle battery life or camera quality.

Which phone is better for performance?
On listed processor hardware, the POCO has the stronger specification: its Dimensity 8500-Ultra is listed with a peak clock of up to 3.4GHz, compared with up to 2.6GHz for the TECNO Dimensity 7400 Ultimate. That makes the POCO the more straightforward choice if processor tier is your priority. Clock speed and chipset names do not establish a specific gaming frame rate or benchmark result; no direct benchmark comparison is available here.

Which display should you choose?
Choose the TECNO if screen size and maximum refresh rate matter most: its panel measures 6.78 inches and supports up to 144Hz. The POCO’s 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED reaches up to 120Hz, making it the smaller-screen option. Refresh rate describes how often the display can update, not overall image quality; the figures alone do not establish which panel looks better.
Battery capacity and charging difference
Both manufacturers list a 6,500mAh battery, but that shared capacity does not mean identical real-world battery life. Usage, software, display settings and testing conditions affect endurance, and comparable runtime results are not established. The rated wired charging speeds differ: POCO lists 100W HyperCharge, while TECNO lists 45W fast charging. Those ratings indicate the POCO’s higher stated charging speed, not a guaranteed charge time; actual results can depend on the charger, protocol and conditions.

Camera hardware: what the specifications do and do not show
Each phone lists a stabilized 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. POCO names a Sony IMX882 main sensor; TECNO names a Sony LYTIA 700C. Sensor model and megapixel count are not a substitute for comparable photos, so the available specifications do not establish a camera-quality winner. The TECNO lists a 13MP front camera; a directly comparable POCO selfie-camera resolution was not established in the reviewed specification lines.
Water and dust resistance ratings
POCO lists IP68. TECNO advertises IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66, with its page specifying laboratory conditions and standards. These are manufacturer-stated ingress-protection ratings, not a promise that either phone is waterproof in every situation. Check the exact local model’s terms and conditions before relying on a rating for exposure to water or dust.

Price difference: check market and stock
Prices depend on country, memory configuration, retailer and availability. In the India snapshot shown by 91mobiles, the POCO X8 Pro was listed at ₹39,999 with an out-of-stock marker, while the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G was listed at ₹49,999 via Flipkart. The arithmetic difference in that snapshot is ₹10,000, with TECNO listed higher; it is not a live offer or a matched-configuration, universal price gap. See the 91mobiles India comparison listing and verify current stock and equivalent RAM/storage variants locally.
A separate launch report dated March 17, 2026 listed POCO X8 Pro starting prices of $329, £289 and ₹32,999 for the 8GB/256GB configuration, with other configurations priced differently. Those dated launch-market figures are not interchangeable with the India retail snapshot above. See Android Central’s March 17, 2026 launch report.

Which phone should you buy?
Choose the POCO X8 Pro if
- You prioritize the higher listed processor tier.
- You want the faster rated wired charging.
- You prefer the smaller of these two displays.
Consider the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G if
- You want a larger screen with a higher maximum refresh rate.
- You value TECNO’s advertised range of ingress-protection ratings.
Before choosing, compare the actual local price for the same RAM and storage, warranty, included charger and network-band support. Those details can vary by market; the available specifications do not establish a complete, equivalent update-support commitment for both phones.
