The POCO M8 5G is the larger-screen option, while the POCO X7 offers a higher-resolution display and faster listed charging. Neither is an automatic winner: the chipset names alone do not settle performance, and a historical Spanish launch-price gap is not a current quote. Choose based on the features you value and the price of the exact regional configuration you can buy.

Which phone has the better display?
Choose the M8 for a larger screen
The M8’s 6.77-inch panel is 0.10 inches larger diagonally than the X7’s 6.67-inch panel. That may suit people who want more screen area for video, reading, or browsing, but screen size alone does not establish overall display quality.

Choose the X7 for more listed pixels
The X7’s 2712×1220 resolution is higher than the M8’s 2392×1080. Both are listed with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. Resolution and refresh rate are useful specifications, but they do not by themselves establish brightness, color accuracy, or how a display looks in everyday use.

Do the chipsets show which phone is faster?
No reliable performance winner can be declared from the chipset names alone. Xiaomi lists a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra in the X7 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in the M8. The cited evidence does not provide a comparable benchmark or workload test, so it cannot establish which is faster for gaming, apps, or multitasking.
If performance is your deciding factor, look for independent tests that compare the exact regional models and the tasks you care about. Do not treat a processor name, manufacturing process, or peak clock figure as a substitute for matched results.
Which phone has the better cameras?
The listed camera systems differ in features, but those specifications do not establish which takes better photos. The X7 lists a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. The M8 is described as having a 50 MP AI dual-camera system with a Light Fusion sensor and a 4K video claim.

Battery life or faster charging: which matters more?
Xiaomi lists a typical 5,520 mAh battery and 45 W charging for the M8. For the X7, the cited specification page lists 67 W charging but does not establish a comparable battery-capacity figure. The X7 therefore has the higher listed charging wattage; that alone does not tell you how long either phone takes to charge in real conditions.

Battery capacity and charging power do not prove which phone lasts longer. No matched battery-life test is established here, so do not infer endurance from these figures alone.

Xiaomi lists IP68 for the X7. Its M8 materials describe IP66 dust and water resistance, note that resistance is not permanent, and say not to immerse the phone. Neither should be described as waterproof: resistance ratings apply under specified conditions, and damage from liquid may not be covered by a warranty. Check the warranty terms for your market before relying on either rating.
What was the Spanish launch-price difference?
Spanish launch coverage reported the M8 5G starting at €229.99 in January 2026. The same publication’s Spanish coverage reported X7 launch prices of €299.99 for 8 GB/256 GB and €349.99 for 12 GB/512 GB in February 2025. Comparing those entry prices gives a historical €70 difference, with the M8 lower. Because the phones launched about a year apart, this is not a same-day comparison or a current price quote. For a purchase today, compare the same RAM and storage configuration in your market, including taxes, discounts, stock, and seller warranty. The launch-price gap does not predict the offers available now.
Which POCO is better value for you?
The M8 5G may fit better if
- You prefer the larger 6.77-inch display.
- You want the listed 5,520 mAh typical battery capacity and can verify real-world endurance from a reliable test.
- Its current local price is meaningfully lower than the X7 for a configuration that meets your needs.
The X7 may fit better if
- You prefer its higher listed display resolution.
- You value the listed 67 W charging or the 8 MP ultra-wide camera.
- You want Xiaomi’s listed IP68 rating and have checked the applicable warranty terms.
Before choosing either, confirm that the exact regional model has the memory configuration and 5G bands your carrier supports. Regional X7 specifications list 5G and Wi-Fi 6; M8 specifications and available network bands vary by market. Xiaomi provides regional product information for the POCO M8 5G in Brazil. A regional product page is not a substitute for checking your carrier’s supported bands.
