PlayStation Direct’s U.S. catalog listed the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds for $149.00 on October 12, 2026. That is below their original $199.99 U.S. recommended price, but available information does not establish that $149 is their best price ever. The earbuds are compatible with PS5, so they can be used for GTA VI when it launches on November 19, 2026—but PlayStation has not said they are required or specially tuned for the game.
Is $149 a good price for PULSE Explore?
At the time checked, PlayStation Direct’s U.S. catalog listed the earbuds at $149.00. Sony announced an original U.S. recommended price of $199.99 in 2023, a difference of $50.99. Those are two list-price figures from different dates, not a record of intervening sale prices; they do not prove this is the lowest price ever. Check the current listing before buying because catalog prices and availability can change.

Will the earbuds work with GTA VI on PS5?
Yes. PlayStation lists PULSE Explore as compatible with PS5, and the game is scheduled to launch November 19, 2026. PlayStation says GTA VI will use PS5 features including Tempest 3D AudioTech, DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers, and the console SSD. That describes the PS5 game experience; it does not establish a special PULSE Explore enhancement. The official product and game information does not say these earbuds are required, specifically tuned for GTA VI, or necessary to access its audio features.

- Built for Adventure
PlayStation’s June 24, 2026 post describes GTA VI’s PS5 experience, while Rockstar’s support page lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as platforms. PlayStation’s statement that the game “will play best on PS5” is promotional platform guidance, not a claim about these earbuds.
What do PULSE Explore offer?
PlayStation describes PULSE Explore as in-ear wireless earbuds with planar magnetic drivers, PlayStation Link wireless, AI-enhanced microphone noise rejection, and multi-device connectivity. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent listening or microphone test results.

Who should consider them?
- Consider them if you want an in-ear option for PS5 and value PlayStation Link, the included adapter, multiple ear-tip sizes, or simultaneous Bluetooth connectivity.
- Compare alternatives if you prefer an over-ear headset, need a different fit, or are deciding based on sound quality. The published specifications alone do not establish how PULSE Explore compares in listening quality with other headsets.
- Judge the deal cautiously if your main reason to buy is the phrase “best price yet.” The verified $149 listing is a current catalog price, not evidence of a historical low.
