God of War Laufey is the next major PlayStation 5 reveal identified after Marvel’s Wolverine. In PlayStation’s June 2, 2026 State of Play recap, Sony said the presentation opened with a closer look at Marvel’s Wolverine and concluded with the reveal of God of War Laufey. The new game follows Laufey—also called Faye, Kratos’s wife—as she battles through a dangerous afterlife of the gods.

PlayStation’s official recap of the June 2, 2026 State of Play describes a presentation lasting more than 60 minutes and explicitly identifies the reveal order: Marvel’s Wolverine opened the show, while God of War Laufey closed it.

That makes God of War Laufey the official answer to the question “What game was revealed after Wolverine?” Here, “after” refers to the sequence of announcements in the presentation, not to a release scheduled after Marvel’s Wolverine.

Sony’s description places Laufey, known as Faye, at the center of the story. She is a warrior and Kratos’s wife. The premise begins with death, but death is not the end of her journey: a new adventure starts afterward.
#1 Best Overall
- Feel your journey through the Norse realms, made possible by immersive haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality.
- Take advantage of multidirectional 3D Audio; hear enemies approaching from any direction. (3D audio with stereo headphones (analog or USB))
- Bask in the beautiful worlds you travel through, brought to life by precise art direction and arresting attention to detail.
- Switch between full 4K resolution at a targeted 30 frames per second, or dynamic resolution upscaled to 4K at a targeted 60fps. (4K resolution requires a compatible 4K TV or display)
Faye must fight through the afterlife of the gods to save the people she loves. The setting is described as a land overflowing with dangerous magic, establishing a supernatural journey distinct from a conventional return-from-battle storyline.
Who is Laufey?
Laufey is Faye, the character presented as Kratos’s wife. The announcement uses both names, so “Laufey” and “Faye” refer to the same protagonist in the revealed premise.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on September 15, 2026 that Marvel’s Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Marvel Games, was available worldwide exclusively on PlayStation 5. That release is the reference point for the “after Wolverine” wording used around the new reveal.

The State of Play recap itself is the evidence for the announcement sequence: Wolverine was the opening focus, and God of War Laufey was the concluding reveal. The later Wolverine launch confirms why it is the recognizable PS5 milestone used to frame the new game, even though the reveal and the retail release occurred at different points in 2026.
Is God of War Laufey a PS5 exclusive?
Sony has confirmed a PlayStation 5 version. The cited announcement does not list another platform, but it also does not provide additional exclusivity terms beyond saying the game is coming to PS5. Until Sony publishes a fuller platform statement, the safest confirmed description is a PS5 game announced for PlayStation 5.
