You can install Magic: The Gathering Arena (MTG Arena) in BlueStacks by using its Google Play Store workflow. BlueStacks documents this route, but the Wizards of the Coast sources cited here list Windows PC and Mac as platforms without confirming official BlueStacks support. If you want Wizards’ documented Windows route, install the direct PC client instead.

Wizards says, “Magic: The Gathering Arena is currently available for Windows PC and Mac.” That platform statement does not establish how the game performs in BlueStacks or guarantee compatibility with it.
Check both sets of system requirements
BlueStacks and MTG Arena publish separate requirements because one describes the emulator and the other the game. Meeting the game’s minimums does not establish that BlueStacks will perform well on the same PC. The figures below are vendor-published requirements, not independent benchmark results.

BlueStacks Support published these requirements in 2024. Its current-version note says the latest BlueStacks requires Windows 10 or later; the Windows 7/8 note applies to BlueStacks versions 5.21.300 and below. Check the current BlueStacks 5 requirements before installing.

These are the Windows requirements listed in the Wizards Getting Started FAQ; the FAQ search-result date was not stated. They apply to the game, not to the additional demands of running it inside BlueStacks. No BlueStacks-specific MTG Arena performance benchmark is established here.
Install MTG Arena through BlueStacks
- Check the requirements. Compare your PC with both the BlueStacks 5 and MTG Arena lists above. BlueStacks’ setup also calls for administrator access; its recommended configuration includes enabled virtualization.
- Download and install BlueStacks. Get the installer from the official BlueStacks website, open it, then select “Agree and Install,” as described in BlueStacks Support’s installation instructions.
- Find the game in Google Play. Launch BlueStacks, sign in to Google Play, search for “Magic: The Gathering Arena,” select the game, and install it. These are the steps in BlueStacks’ MTG Arena guide.
- Open the game and sign in. Launch MTG Arena from the BlueStacks home screen and use the Wizards account you use elsewhere. Wizards says that the same account provides access to your collection and progress across PC, macOS, and mobile. See the Wizards mobile FAQ.
Wizards’ FAQ says MTG Arena requires an internet connection. It describes the game as free to download; that does not mean every optional in-game purchase or activity is free. The tutorial teaches the fundamentals, and the new-player experience helps players edit decks and practice.

Use the direct Windows client instead
If you prefer the platform route Wizards lists for Windows, use its MTG Arena PC download rather than installing the Android app in an emulator. This avoids the extra BlueStacks installation and its separate system requirements. The sources here do not establish that either route is faster, more stable, or better-performing on a particular PC.

Troubleshoot installation or launch problems
If BlueStacks will not open
BlueStacks lists disabled virtualization, unmet system requirements, insufficient CPU or RAM allocation to the emulator, outdated graphics drivers, antivirus interference, and pending Windows updates among possible causes. Its suggested checks include enabling virtualization, verifying requirements, adjusting the emulator’s CPU and RAM allocation, updating graphics drivers, and checking for Windows updates. Follow the current BlueStacks support guidance; these are vendor recommendations, not author-tested fixes.

If the Windows game installer or updater fails
For certain MTG Arena PC installation or update problems, Wizards recommends a clean reinstall. Its support page also suggests trying the Steam version if installation from its webpage continues to fail. Follow the steps and scope described in Wizards’ installation and update troubleshooting page.
