Yes. You can play iPhone audio through an Echo by pairing the iPhone over Bluetooth. If you use Amazon Music, you can also cast from its iOS app to a compatible Alexa-enabled device. A third option is to ask Alexa to play music from a service linked to your account, if that service is available for your device and region.
Choose how you want playback to start

These routes have different setup requirements. Amazon’s help pages do not establish one as universally better for sound quality, latency, or controls across Echo models and music services.
Play iPhone audio on an Echo with Bluetooth
Bluetooth is the direct option when you want the Echo to act as a speaker for audio coming from your iPhone. Amazon’s instructions describe phone pairing generally; they do not document every iPhone or iOS-specific behavior.

- On your iPhone, open Bluetooth settings and put the phone in pairing mode.
- In the Alexa app, tap Devices, select your Echo, and open Device Settings.
- Choose Bluetooth Devices, then tap Pair A New Device.
- Select the Echo on your iPhone if prompted to complete pairing.
- After the first pairing, turn on Bluetooth on the phone and say, “Pair Bluetooth” to the Echo when you want to reconnect. Some devices may reconnect automatically when in range.
Follow Amazon’s Bluetooth pairing instructions if the labels differ in your app. The documentation does not specify how every app, notification, or call behaves while connected, so check the behavior you need on your own device.

Cast from the Amazon Music app on iPhone
Amazon documents casting from the Amazon Music app on iOS to an Alexa-enabled device. Fire TVs are excluded from this documented destination route. The destination must have power and an internet connection and be registered to the same Amazon account used in the Amazon Music app.
- Open the Amazon Music app. From its Home screen, open Menu and choose Connect to a Device; or, while playing music, tap the casting icon on the Now Playing screen.
- Select the Alexa-enabled destination from the available devices.
Amazon says the destination’s streaming-quality settings are respected. Its help page specifically says that casting purchased music through the Amazon Music app requires an Amazon Music Prime or Amazon Music Unlimited subscription; that requirement should not be assumed for all casting or for Bluetooth playback. Ask Alexa to play music from a linked service
For voice-controlled playback, the music service must be available on Alexa-enabled devices and linked as appropriate. Amazon states, “Not all music services are available on Alexa-enabled devices,” and directs users to the Alexa app to see what is available. Availability can vary; the reviewed Amazon help information does not confirm Apple Music direct-link support for every device, region, or account. Check the services shown in your Alexa app rather than assuming a particular service will work.

What to check if your preferred route is unavailable
- Bluetooth: Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on the iPhone, then use the Echo’s Bluetooth pairing controls in the Alexa app. Once paired, try the voice command “Pair Bluetooth.”
- Amazon Music casting: Confirm the Echo is powered, online, and registered to the same Amazon account as the Amazon Music app. Make sure you are selecting an Alexa-enabled device rather than a Fire TV.
- Voice playback: Look in the Alexa app for the service’s availability and review the linked account and Profile defaults. Amazon notes that service use may also be subject to each provider’s terms.
