Planet Zoo has 38 Global Achievements on Steam. The complete route combines Career medals, Franchise-only research and education tasks, animal breeding and release, welfare targets, zoo geography, construction totals and a few online or scenario objectives. Console Edition uses a separate trophy list, so do not assume that a Steam description or count applies to PlayStation.
How to use this checklist
Start with the platform you play on, then mark the required game mode beside every task. Steam descriptions are the authoritative wording for the PC list. Frontier’s Console Edition list is separate and includes its own trophy names and Career wording. Thresholds below should be treated as exact: a near miss does not count.
- One-time goals: actions such as creating an avatar, adopting an animal or opening a first Franchise zoo.
- Cumulative goals: totals such as 73 births, 25 Franchise zoos, 10 km of barrier and 1 km of tracked ride.
- Mode-locked goals: some objectives explicitly require Franchise, Scenario 7, or a permitted combination of Sandbox, Franchise and Challenge.
- Career standards: individual bronze, silver and gold awards are separate from completing every Career level at each standard, including the Hard versions.
Steam: complete achievement checklist
Steam lists 38 Global Achievements for Planet Zoo. The entries below preserve the requirements and mode restrictions shown in the platform list while grouping them into a practical order.
Introductory actions and ratings
- Create your avatar and place it on the globe. Complete the avatar setup and globe placement action required by the introductory achievement.
- Adopt an animal. Use the animal market or another available adoption route in a zoo.
- Train a staff member. Assign training to a staff employee and complete the required training level.
- Earn a five-star Animal Rating. Improve animal welfare, habitat quality and care until the zoo reaches five stars.
Career medals and full-career completion
- Earn a bronze Career award.
- Earn a silver Career award.
- Earn a gold Career award.
- Complete all Career levels to a bronze standard.
- Complete all Career levels to a silver standard.
- Complete all Career levels to a gold standard.
- Complete all Career levels to the corresponding bronze, silver and gold standards on Hard. Hard-mode completion is tracked separately from the normal Career standards.
Career medals are not interchangeable. A gold result on one level does not satisfy the all-level gold requirement, and normal difficulty does not satisfy the Hard requirements.

First animals, births and enrichment
- Release your first animal. Release an eligible animal rather than selling or trading it.
- Have a baby animal born. This is distinct from the larger cumulative birth target.
- Place 25 different enrichment items. The requirement concerns different enrichment items, not 25 copies of one item.
- Enable all enrichment items in an exhibit. Supply the exhibit with every enrichment item needed by its occupants and confirm that each is enabled.
- Have 73 baby animals born. This is an exact cumulative threshold; births across qualifying zoos contribute to the total shown by Steam.
Franchise opening, research and education
- Open a Franchise zoo. Create the zoo in Franchise mode, not merely in Sandbox or Challenge.
- Complete the research on one animal in Franchise mode. Select an animal species in a Franchise zoo and finish its research progression.
- Earn a five-star Education Rating in a Franchise zoo. Build education facilities, provide speakers or boards where appropriate, and raise the zoo’s Education Rating to five stars while the zoo is in Franchise mode.
- Open 25 Franchise zoos. Count each qualifying Franchise zoo opening; a single zoo with many habitats does not replace multiple openings.
- Take part in a community challenge. This objective depends on the live community-challenge system, so confirm that the challenge is active and that your contribution is registered before it ends.
Animal care, training, breeding and release
- Assign three Keepers separate work zones. The listed requirement allows Sandbox, Franchise or Challenge mode. Create three distinct work zones and assign one Keeper to each so their assignments are separate rather than overlapping.
- Keep 30 animals in one habitat with welfare above 75%. All 30 animals must be in the same habitat and each must remain above the stated 75% welfare threshold when the game checks the achievement.
- Breed an albino animal. The offspring, rather than an animal merely purchased or transferred, must satisfy the albino condition.
- Complete the Zoopedia. Fill every required Zoopedia entry shown by your game. DLC or platform scope can affect what the live list displays, so use the in-game progress screen as the final authority.
- Repay $50,000 in loans. Repay a cumulative $50,000 in loan principal through the zoo finance interface; do not confuse repayment with taking out a $50,000 loan.
- Breed a juvenile lion in a zoo with at least 10 species. The lion must be juvenile, and the zoo must contain at least 10 species when the condition is met.
- Release 20 critically endangered animals. Release 20 animals classified as critically endangered. Selling, trading or releasing animals from another conservation category does not substitute for this count.
- Exceed 90% in every genetic category. The requirement is above 90% in every displayed genetic category, not an average above 90% across the categories.
- Adopt the retiring Indian Elephants in Scenario 7. This objective points specifically to Scenario 7; adopting Indian Elephants elsewhere does not silently replace the scenario requirement.
- Breed two different elephant breeds. Produce offspring from two distinct elephant breeds as recognized by the game’s animal data.
Zoo geography and construction totals
- Open a zoo in every biome. Work through the biome list shown in the location selector and verify each opening in the achievement tracker.
- Open a zoo on every continent. Continent coverage is a separate requirement from biome coverage; one location can satisfy one or both only when the game records it that way.
- Build 10 km of barrier. This is a cumulative construction total. The barrier distance must reach 10 kilometres in the game’s measurement system.
- Build 1 km of tracked ride. Construct tracked transport or ride route until the cumulative tracked distance reaches 1 kilometre.
Efficient order for a Steam completion run
There is no single required order, but combining compatible objectives reduces duplicated work.
- Begin Career and clear the introductory actions. Create the avatar, adopt an animal, train staff and improve welfare while earning the first bronze, silver and gold Career awards.
- Use an early zoo to build infrastructure. Place 25 different enrichment items, start the 10 km barrier and 1 km tracked-ride totals, and create work zones for three Keepers.
- Open Franchise and track mode-locked progress. Complete one animal’s research, pursue the five-star Education Rating, contribute to a community challenge and open additional Franchise zoos toward 25.
- Run a breeding plan. Keep records for 73 births, an albino offspring, two elephant breeds, a juvenile lion in a 10-species zoo and the above-90% genetic requirement. Use separate breeding habitats when welfare or genetics would otherwise conflict.
- Raise the 30-animal habitat carefully. Add animals only when food, shelter, social groups, cleanliness, space and enrichment can keep every animal above 75% welfare.
- Finish collection and geography tasks. Complete the Zoopedia, release 20 critically endangered animals, repay the $50,000 loan total, open every biome and continent, and complete the Scenario 7 Indian Elephant objective.
- Return to Career for all-level standards. After learning the scenarios, repeat the entire Career set for all-level bronze, silver and gold, then repeat those standards on Hard.

When a counter appears stuck, pause and inspect the achievement panel, finance screen, animal details and habitat overview. The game may evaluate the condition only after the relevant action is completed, the animal is born or released, or the zoo state updates.

Console Edition trophies
Planet Zoo Console Edition has a separately titled trophy list. PlayStation describes four modes: Career, Franchise, Challenge and Sandbox. Frontier’s list includes Chief Curator for unlocking all PlayStation trophies, and its Career entries refer to completing all original Career levels.

Do not copy the Steam list into a console guide as if it were identical. The available official Console Edition reference establishes that a separate list exists, but the complete current console entry set should be checked directly in the PlayStation trophy interface before you claim console completion. Trophy names, wording, platform scope and any DLC requirements are controlled by the list displayed for your console edition.

Console verification procedure
- Open the Planet Zoo trophy list from your PlayStation profile or the game’s trophy screen.
- Record each trophy name and description exactly as displayed, including whether it says Console Edition or refers to original Career levels.
- Mark the required mode beside every item: Career, Franchise, Challenge, Sandbox or a named scenario.
- Use the in-game counters for births, releases, welfare, genetics, barriers and rides rather than estimating from a save file.
- After the final requirement unlocks, confirm that Chief Curator has been awarded for the complete PlayStation set.

Edition and availability notes
Steam identifies Frontier Developments as developer and publisher and lists Planet Zoo’s PC release as November 5, 2019. The PC storefront shows base, Deluxe, Premium and Ultimate editions with add-ons. PlayStation lists a PS5 Console Edition, Deluxe and Ultimate editions and add-ons. Edition contents and prices can change, so check the storefront for the edition and DLC scope attached to your own save.
The achievement requirements are platform-facing. If your live list contains wording or a DLC-related entry that is not represented here, follow that displayed description rather than assuming that the Steam total or a guide written for another edition is authoritative.
