Strong pizza websites make the restaurant’s appeal and the next useful action clear at a glance. The examples below show how a dining room, signature slice, chef, or neighborhood can lead the story—and why the best choice depends on whether visitors want to order, book a table, or learn about the restaurant.

This is an inspiration set, not an objective ranking. Zarla’s September 2026 guide identifies 12 pizzeria examples; the available material does not substantiate 17 individually inspected sites, so this article focuses on those 12 rather than padding the list with unverified additions.

How to judge a pizzeria website

A useful comparison starts with the customer’s task, not a contest over whose pizza photo is most dramatic. Look at what the site makes prominent, what story it tells, and how readily a visitor can reach the information or action they came for.

  • Customer task: Is the site built chiefly for takeout ordering, table reservations, restaurant discovery, or finding a nearby location?
  • Brand story: Does it distinguish the business through a signature pizza, a chef’s craft, hospitality, neighborhood identity, or a long-running legacy?
  • Hero treatment: Does the first screen feature food, a maker at work, the dining room, or another recognizable part of the restaurant?
  • Action visibility: Are ordering, reservations, menu access, and directions easy to spot, with one action given appropriate priority?
  • Information access: Can visitors find menu details, hours, locations, catering, dietary information, and contact details?
  • Mobile usability: Is text legible, are controls easy to tap, and can visitors reach key actions without fighting slow-loading images?

The Web Marketing Association’s restaurant-site awards offer a separate general framework: design, ease of use, copywriting, interactivity, use of technology, innovation, and content. Its 2026 awards page names Seagar’s Website as the Best Restaurant Site and says the 2026 competition has ended; that is restaurant-wide award context, not an award for any pizzeria example here. 12 pizza website examples and the design choices they illustrate

The following observations describe the choices reported for these sites, not controlled tests of their performance. Websites can change, so check the live site for current menus, hours, locations, and ordering or reservation paths.

1. Pizzeria Beddia: sell the evening, not only the pizza

Pizzeria Beddia leads with its dining room and a reservation action. That makes the room part of the offer, a sensible approach for a destination restaurant where visitors may be choosing an evening out as much as a meal.

Should the first screen show the pizza, the room, or the maker?

Choose the subject that best matches why customers visit. A close-up of a product can make sense when a quick craving or a signature item is central. A dining room can lead when atmosphere and reservations matter. A chef or pizzaiolo can lead when visible craft and personal reputation distinguish the business. These are observed design approaches, not proven conversion formulas.

Whatever the hero shows, connect it to the restaurant’s actual identity: a signature item, neighborhood, founder or chef, founding year, or distinctive visual language. Use real restaurant photography, and do not assume that a particular image choice will improve conversions without separate evidence.

Make the next action easy to find

Ordering, reservations, menu access, hours, location, and catering are all common visitor needs, but they do not all deserve equal prominence on every site. Give the leading action visual priority according to the business model: an ordering-focused shop should make ordering easy to reach, while a reservation-led dining room should make booking clear. Keep supporting details findable without turning the first screen into a row of equally weighted buttons.

DoorDash’s September 29, 2026 guidance recommends mobile-first design, quick access to menu and ordering, readable web-page menus rather than PDF menus, and fast-loading food imagery. These are recommendations from a commerce platform provider, not findings from a comparative test of the examples above. DoorDash restaurant website design guidance

What to take from these examples

  • Start with the restaurant’s real differentiator, rather than a generic pizza hero.
  • Match the opening image and headline to the visitor’s reason for coming.
  • Make the primary customer action obvious, then keep essential practical information accessible.
  • Design for mobile reading, tapping, and access to menu and ordering details.
  • Treat visual inspiration as a design prompt, not evidence that a layout will produce a particular business result.
