Pixel Puzzle: Block Color Game by Gnudios is a color-by-number grid puzzle. You fill a blank board so its colored tiles match a target picture. The Google Play description advertises more than 130 hand-crafted levels, with 5×5, 7×7, and 10×10 boards available from the beginning.

It advertises automatic progress saving and full offline play. A dedicated hint button or hint currency is not documented for this game; instead, undo and redo let you test ideas without permanently committing to them. Difficulty rises with board size and image detail, while the listing leaves cloud backup, device transfer, reinstall recovery, and the offline behavior of ads or purchases unspecified.

Which Pixel Puzzle does this guide cover?

The name “Pixel Puzzle” is used by several unrelated puzzle apps. This guide covers Pixel Puzzle: Block Color Game, the Android game published by Gnudios. It is the app whose description presents a color-by-number block experience with 5×5, 7×7, and 10×10 grids. Other apps with similar names, including nonogram titles, may have different hint systems, save methods, and rules, so their features should not be applied to this game.

Gnudios’ Google Play description, accessed October 13, 2026, reports “130+ hand-crafted levels.” That is a product-description figure rather than an independently audited count, and the exact number can change if the developer adds content.

  • Arcade Modes - Online play has Puzzle League, which tracks players' ratings, players can save replays to upload and share, and more.
  • There's also an in-game shop players can use their points to unlock different Puyo and Tetrimino skins, background music, stages, and more.

How the puzzle works

Each level starts with a blank grid and a target image. Your task is to color individual tiles until the completed grid reproduces that image. The mechanic is closer to a compact color-by-number exercise than to a traditional clue-based nonogram: the visual target is shown directly, and accuracy comes from matching the pattern tile by tile.

Basic solving sequence

  1. Choose a board. Select one of the available grid sizes. All three sizes are advertised as accessible from the start, rather than being locked behind a linear campaign.
  2. Study the target. Before filling anything, note the dominant colors, edges, isolated squares, and repeated shapes. On a small board, the whole picture is easy to hold in view; on a larger one, divide it into rows or regions.
  3. Color the tiles. Tap or otherwise use the game’s tile controls to reproduce the target pattern. Work systematically so that completed areas are easy to check.
  4. Inspect the result. Compare the finished board with the reference image before leaving the level. A single misplaced tile can alter a small picture substantially.
  5. Correct experiments. Use undo when a trial color or placement is wrong, and redo when you want to restore an action you removed. The listing presents these controls as a way to experiment without penalty.

On larger boards, the listing also names zoom and pan controls. Zooming helps distinguish adjacent cells; panning lets you move around a magnified section without losing the ability to inspect fine details.

Does Pixel Puzzle have hints?

No hint button, hint meter, clue purchase, or hint token is documented in the Gnudios listing for this exact game. You should therefore not expect a built-in system that reveals a tile, highlights a mistake, or solves part of a level. Other puzzle apps with “Pixel” or “Logic” in their names may advertise hints, but those are separate products.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What you can use instead

  • Undo: Reverse a recent move when an experiment produces the wrong color or pattern.
  • Redo: Restore an action after undoing it if you decide the earlier move was correct.
  • Zoom and pan: On larger boards, enlarge the image and move across it to inspect individual cells.
  • Visual checkpoints: Complete one row, edge, or recognizable shape at a time, then compare that region with the target.

These tools provide error recovery rather than clues. If you are stuck, pause and compare the target and board by coordinates: scan from the top-left across each row, marking the first mismatch, then continue. That method is slower than a hint but does not assume a feature the game has not documented.

How difficult is Pixel Puzzle?

The developer describes difficulty as increasing with grid size and image detail. The three advertised formats are not separate editions or paid tiers; they are board dimensions. A larger grid contains more cells and generally requires more careful comparison, especially when neighboring colors or small shapes look similar.

Grid How the listing characterizes it What changes for the player Availability
5×5 Suitable for a quick break Few cells and a compact image make it the easiest place to learn the controls and visual matching. Advertised as available from the start
7×7 A step up in detail and color combinations More cells and more varied colors demand row-by-row checking and make small mistakes easier to overlook. Advertised as available from the start
10×10 The most challenging size; rewards patience and careful thinking Fine details, longer scans, and a greater number of possible mismatches make accuracy more demanding. Advertised as available from the start

Those descriptions are the developer’s positioning, not the result of an independent difficulty test. Your experience will also depend on color perception, screen size, familiarity with this type of puzzle, and whether you play quickly or methodically.

Choosing a starting size

  • New to the controls: Start with 5×5 to learn tile selection, undo, redo, zoom, and panning without a crowded board.
  • Comfortable with visual matching: Try 7×7 when you want more color combinations but still want a manageable scan.
  • Looking for the longest challenge: Choose 10×10 and plan to work in sections rather than attempting to memorize the entire image.

Because the listing says all sizes are available immediately, you do not have to finish every smaller board before trying a larger one. You can use 5×5 as a warm-up, switch to 7×7 for moderate detail, or go directly to 10×10 when you want the most demanding format.

Practical strategies for detailed boards

  1. Anchor the edges. Begin with a corner or border whose colors are easy to identify. Fixed edges give you a reference for the rest of the picture.
  2. Use a consistent scan direction. Work left to right across each row, or top to bottom down each column. Consistency prevents skipped cells.
  3. Separate similar colors. When two shades are close, compare them with the target at the same zoom level instead of relying on memory.
  4. Check after each region. A quick comparison after a row or shape is faster than discovering several errors at the end.
  5. Undo immediately when uncertain. If a move was an experiment, reverse it while it is still easy to identify in the action history.

Does Pixel Puzzle save progress?

Yes, the game advertises automatic saving. Its description says, “Your progress is saved automatically,” and tells players they can return later to find their progress where they left it. That supports automatic save and resume within the game.

What automatic saving does not confirm

The published description does not state whether saves are stored only on the device or copied to a cloud account. It does not mention a sign-in requirement, Google account linking, transfer to another phone or tablet, or restoration after uninstalling and reinstalling. It also does not specify how a damaged device or cleared app data affects a save. Do not assume that an automatic local save is a backup.

How to reduce the risk of losing a save

  • Keep the game installed and avoid clearing its storage while you still need the current progress.
  • Before changing phones, look in the game for any account, backup, or transfer option; none is described in the public listing, so its presence is not guaranteed.
  • Do not uninstall solely to troubleshoot a minor problem unless you accept that recovery behavior is undocumented.
  • If progress disappears, reopen the same app installation and check whether the game needs a moment to load its local data. Avoid starting a replacement profile until you know whether the original save can return.

Automatic saving means you should not need to press a manual save button after every level. It does not establish cross-device synchronization or a recoverable cloud backup.

Can you play Pixel Puzzle offline?

Yes. The Gnudios listing states, “Works fully offline — no wifi, no mobile data needed.” You can therefore play the advertised puzzle experience without an internet connection, which is useful on flights, in areas with weak coverage, or when you want to avoid mobile-data use.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What offline play covers

  • Opening and solving the levels that are already part of the installed game.
  • Using the documented puzzle controls, including undo and redo.
  • Resuming progress that the game has saved on the device.

What the listing leaves open

The offline statement does not explain whether optional advertisements can load while disconnected or whether an ad-free purchase can be processed without a connection. Network availability may be needed for an advertisement request, purchase verification, store delivery, updates, or analytics even though solving the puzzles themselves does not require Wi‑Fi or mobile data. Treat offline play as a claim about gameplay, not as a guarantee that every optional service works offline.

Quick offline check

  1. While connected, install or update the game and open it once so its available content can finish loading.
  2. Open a level and confirm that it starts normally.
  3. Enable airplane mode, then turn Wi‑Fi back on only if you want to test a specific local network condition; for a strict test, leave both cellular data and Wi‑Fi disabled.
  4. Reopen the game, solve a few tiles, use undo and redo, and leave the level.
  5. Still offline, launch the game again and verify that the saved position resumes. If an optional ad or purchase panel fails to load, that does not contradict the listing’s claim that the puzzle itself works offline.

Is Pixel Puzzle free?

The listing describes Pixel Puzzle as free to download and play. It also mentions optional advertisements and a one-time purchase to remove ads, with no subscription or recurring charge described. The surfaced description does not provide a current price for the ad-removal purchase, so the amount may depend on the store region and current offer.

Ads and the ad-removal transaction are separate from the core puzzle mechanics. You can play without paying according to the listing, but an internet connection may still be needed for an ad request or to complete and verify a purchase; the description does not specify those network requirements.

Troubleshooting common questions

A level looks too hard

Switch to a smaller grid, or divide the current board into rows and recognizable regions. Use zoom on a 10×10 board, compare one coordinate at a time, and undo guesses instead of stacking uncertain moves. The game’s published difficulty model is based on grid size and image detail, so moving from 10×10 to 7×7 or 5×5 is a reasonable adjustment rather than a change of rules.

You cannot find a hint control

That is expected based on the public description: no hint system is documented. Use the target image, systematic scanning, zoom, pan, undo, and redo. Do not spend money expecting a hint pack unless the in-game interface explicitly presents such an option.

Your progress is missing

Confirm that you reopened the same installation and did not clear app storage or replace the app with a different title. Automatic saving is advertised, but cloud synchronization, reinstall recovery, and device transfer are not specified. If the original device data was erased, the public listing provides no guaranteed recovery method.

The game will not load while offline

Check that the game was opened at least once while connected and that the level was available before disconnecting. Re-enable connectivity temporarily if the store requires an update or if an optional ad or purchase screen is blocking startup. The offline claim applies to playing the game; it does not document behavior for every network-dependent service.
