Pixel 11 includes Car Crash Detection, but you need to set it up in the Personal Safety app. Turn it on before you travel: after a possible severe crash, the phone can ask whether you need help and, if you do not respond, attempt to call emergency services and share its approximate location.
How to turn on Car Crash Detection on Pixel 11

Open the Personal Safety app.

Tap Features.

Scroll to Car Crash Detection and tap Set up.

When prompted, allow location, microphone, and physical activity access.

Make sure the phone has a SIM. Google says the feature requires one to work.

Google lists Car Crash Detection among Pixel 11’s Safety features (Google Pixel 11 specifications), and its setup guidance is in the Pixel emergency-help instructions. App labels and available instructions can vary by region and Android version.

What the phone does after a possible crash
With Car Crash Detection enabled, the phone can identify a possible severe car crash, vibrate, sound an alarm, and ask whether you need help. Google says you have 60 seconds to respond. During that time, you can choose to call emergency services or cancel.
If you do not respond within 60 seconds, the phone automatically turns on speakerphone and attempts to call emergency services. It announces that a car crash happened and shares the device’s approximate location. These actions are attempts, not a guarantee that a call will connect or responders will receive the location; they depend on factors including permissions, device and carrier support, country, and connectivity.

No SIM: Google says a SIM is required.

Airplane mode or Battery Saver: Car Crash Detection does not work while either is on.

Roaming: Google says it works only in the country of the phone’s SIM, not while roaming elsewhere.

Permissions or connectivity: The setup requests location, microphone, and physical activity access. Emergency calling and location sharing also depend on permissions and available device, carrier, and network support.
Google describes the detection system as using Activity Recognition and device inputs including accelerometer, GPS, and microphone data to distinguish a possible crash from other movement (Google’s Car Crash Detection explainer). That description is not a promise that every crash will be detected. Treat the feature as an emergency aid, not a substitute for contacting help when you are able.

Car Crash Detection is different from Emergency SOS
Car Crash Detection is designed to react automatically to a possible severe crash. Emergency SOS is separate and user-triggered: Google’s Pixel guidance says to press the power button five times or more, then follow the countdown or confirmation behavior configured on the phone. Emergency SOS settings and actions may differ from automatic crash response; do not assume one feature is enabled just because the other is.
