It launched on February 15, 2022 and concentrates on pawn-shop negotiation, appraisals, scam detection, auctions, employees, investments, story events, and a catalogue of more than 700 items. Picker Magnate Simulator is the better match for a more physical fantasy—finding, hauling, driving, sorting, repairing, crafting, and expanding a thrift shop—but its full release is planned for Q1 2027. A separate demo became available on September 17, 2026.

The official description emphasizes haggling and reading customers. A successful transaction therefore depends on interpreting the person in front of you as well as the object. The game also includes counterfeit goods and bad contracts, so a high apparent value is not automatically a safe investment.
That makes the main loop information-driven. You evaluate an opportunity, negotiate a price, watch for warning signs and decide whether the potential margin justifies the exposure. If you prefer making decisions from clues and uncertainty rather than performing each physical task, this is the stronger match.
Auctions, employees and investments
Once the shop is established, the simulation broadens beyond individual transactions. You can enter auctions, hire employees and make investments. Those systems let you think about the business as a portfolio of opportunities rather than a sequence of isolated sales: an auction can expand your inventory, staff can extend your capacity and an investment can trade immediate cash for longer-term growth.

Availability: can you play Picker Magnate Simulator now?
Yes, but only in the limited sense supported by its current listing: a separate demo was released on September 17, 2026. The full game is planned for Q1 2027, and that window can change. The demo repeats the intended shop-management, sourcing, repair, crafting and skill-progression systems, but it does not establish that the finished release is available today.
If you want to experience the concept before committing to a future release, the demo is the relevant option. If you want a complete campaign with the final content already delivered, choose a released game instead. Do not treat a demo purchase or download as access to the finished product.
Is Dealer’s Life 2 worth buying?
It is worth considering if your definition of a resale game is negotiation and risk management rather than physical shop labor. You receive a released game with the systems that define that premise: haggling, customer reading, counterfeit and contract checks, auctions, staff, investments, story events and a 700-plus-item catalogue.

The main reason not to buy it is a mismatch of expectations. It will not be the better choice for someone whose priority is first-person hauling, personally repairing furniture, crafting goods or physically shaping a thrift-store layout. Those are the features associated with Picker Magnate Simulator instead.

Picker Magnate Simulator is the closer fit for a junk-dealer fantasy in which the work itself matters. Buying lots, hauling goods, sorting by condition and material, repairing appliances and furniture, crafting handmade products and upgrading physical skills all support that interpretation of resale.
The distinction is not simply “arcade versus serious.” Both include business decisions and progression. The difference is where the game places your attention: negotiation and uncertainty in one case, physical handling and shop-building in the other.

Choose Picker Magnate Simulator if your satisfying upgrade is a better operation
- You want to begin with an empty stall and see a thrift shop take shape.

Accept that the full version is not scheduled until Q1 2027 and that the release date and final feature set may change. The September 17, 2026 demo is the available way to sample the concept now.
Choose Dealer’s Life 2 if your satisfying upgrade is a smarter business

What neither game should be expected to provide
Do not buy Dealer’s Life 2 expecting a first-person warehouse-and-shop simulator. Its documented focus is management and negotiation. Likewise, do not treat Picker Magnate Simulator as an already complete alternative: its full release remains planned, and the demo cannot confirm the final balance, content or launch date.
Neither listing establishes a shared control scheme, multiplayer mode, console edition or a final launch price for the upcoming game. Those details should be checked on the current Steam pages before purchase or planning around a particular setup.
