Several Xiaomi and POCO phones have manufacturer-confirmed infrared (IR) blasters, including the REDMI Note 14 5G, REDMI Note 15 in the UAE, and POCO F4. An IR blaster can send remote-control signals to compatible TVs, air conditioners, and sound systems—but the exact phone variant and your device’s compatibility matter.
What an IR blaster does
An IR blaster is a small hardware emitter that sends infrared light signals. Xiaomi describes it as a way for a phone to control equipment that accepts infrared remote commands, including TVs, air conditioners, and sound systems. It is not a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection, and having the hardware does not guarantee that a particular appliance will work with the phone’s remote app. Xiaomi’s explanation of the REDMI Note 14 5G’s sensors describes the component and its use.
Phones with manufacturer-confirmed IR blasters
These are verified examples, not a complete list of every phone available in every market. Check the manufacturer’s listing for the exact model and region before buying.

How to check whether a phone will control your device
- Confirm the exact phone variant. Search the manufacturer’s support or specifications page for the full model name and the words “IR blaster.” Do not rely on a family name alone: a 4G model, a 5G model, or a regional version may have a different listing.
- Check the remote app’s device support. Xiaomi’s user guide for the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G says Mi Remote works with the phone’s IR blaster port. Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G User Guide. Check the available device database for your TV, air conditioner, or other equipment; the hardware alone does not establish that the app supports its model.
- Test before depending on the phone. Pair or configure the remote app and try the commands you actually use. Do not assume every function of the original remote is available, or that the phone will work at your intended distance.
- Compare the rest of the phone before purchasing. Check local availability, warranty, price, network bands, storage, battery, and software support alongside the IR feature. The models above are examples, not a value ranking.
Why the exact model and region matter
Specifications can vary by market and variant. Xiaomi’s REDMI Note 15 page expressly notes that product information may differ by model and region, while its Note 14 5G support and Note 14 4G specification pages cover different listings. Read the page for the market where you will buy the phone, and confirm the exact variant with the seller before treating an IR blaster as a required feature.
