What platforms is Phantom Blade Zero on?
The confirmed platforms in the reviewed listings are PlayStation 5 and PC. The PlayStation US product page lists the PS5 version, and Steam lists the PC edition. The S-Game official site also identifies the game. These sources do not confirm Xbox or Nintendo Switch availability.

The PS5 product page advertises DualSense adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and Tempest 3D AudioTech. Steam identifies S-GAME Studio as developer, S-GAME Publishing as publisher, and the game as single-player. The reviewed PC listing did not provide verified system requirements or comparable performance information, so there is no reliable basis here for comparing PC and PS5 frame rates or performance.

The date depends on region and storefront. S-Game lists October 29, 2026 as the global date; Steam lists October 28, 2026, and the PlayStation Blog says October 29, adding that the game launches October 28 in the US and select regions. Check your local store listing for the applicable date and unlock time.

What is Phantom Blade Zero gameplay like?
A dark wuxia action RPG
PlayStation describes Phantom Blade Zero as a dark wuxia action RPG powered by Unreal Engine 5. You play Soul, a swordsman framed for murdering his master who has sixty-six days left to live. He is pursued through the Wulin as he investigates a conspiracy. S-Game describes the game’s blend of traditional wuxia, fantasy, and folk horror as “Kungfupunk.” These are publisher descriptions, not independent assessments of the finished game.
Weapon variety and combat setup
The combat system is built around a large arsenal and player-chosen equipment combinations. In an August 17, 2026 PlayStation Blog post, S-Game founder and CEO Soulframe Liang says players can unlock more than 30 main weapons and 25 secondary weapons called Phantom Edges. The PlayStation US product page separately advertises 30+ main weapons and 20+ Phantom Edges; the secondary-weapon counts differ, so the figures are best read as source-specific descriptions rather than a single reconciled total.

Liang’s post says weapons can be upgraded and combined with accessories, and that players can reforge upgrades to recover materials. It also describes summons as part of combat. The post identifies three difficulty choices: Wayfarer, for players prioritizing the story; Hellwalker, a higher challenge with more advanced and adaptive enemy intelligence; and Sixty-Six Days, described as exceptionally demanding. The same post says kung fu performer Donnie Yen is a creative consultant and portrays Mó Yuan through facial and motion capture.
Connected maps, exploration, and side quests
A PC Gamer report dated August 18, 2026 describes eight connected maps, based on the State of Play presentation. The report quotes Liang describing hand-painted Chinese ink-wash maps that guide exploration, with bells enabling fast travel between discovered locations. PC Gamer characterizes the world structure as falling between a linear adventure and an open-world RPG; that is a reported presentation description, not a confirmed genre label from the store pages.

The PlayStation Blog says side quests can open story paths. Together with the reported map design, that suggests exploration is intended to include secrets and optional routes rather than only a single straight path. The precise extent of branching or how much the maps differ in practice is not established by the available descriptions.
