Phantom Blade Zero requires a 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, 16 GB of RAM, DirectX 12, and an SSD. S-GAME’s minimum profile targets 1080p at 30 frames per second with upscaling enabled, while its standard recommended profile targets 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled.
Ray tracing and path tracing use separate, substantially higher GPU targets: an RTX 5060 8GB for 1080p/60 FPS ray-traced play and an RTX 5080 16GB for 2160p/60 FPS path-traced play. These are developer targets, not independent benchmark results or guarantees for every scene.
Phantom Blade Zero PC requirements at a glance
S-GAME published the following specifications on August 12, 2026. The conventional minimum and recommended tiers share the same memory, operating-system, graphics API, and storage requirements; the main differences are the processor and graphics card targets.

The RTX 5060 and RTX 5080 entries are not replacements for the standard minimum or recommended profiles. S-GAME has not published a CPU pairing for either ray-tracing tier, so you should not infer that the processor requirements are identical to the conventional 1440p profile.

What the minimum specification means
The minimum configuration is built around 1080p output at 30 FPS, with an upscaler doing part of the performance work. It is therefore a target for playable entry-level settings rather than a promise of native 1080p rendering at a locked 30 FPS in every location.
Processor
S-GAME lists the Core i7-8700K and Ryzen 5 3600. Both are desktop processors from older generations, but the model names are more useful than a simple “quad-core” or “six-core” label: a processor that is below these examples may become the limiting component even if its graphics card meets the minimum GPU line.
Graphics card and VRAM
The minimum graphics examples are a GTX 1660 with 6GB of VRAM and an RX 5500 XT with 8GB. The different memory capacities show why comparing only the product family is insufficient. Check the exact model and its dedicated VRAM before assuming that a laptop or prebuilt version matches the desktop example.
Memory, operating system, API, and storage
- RAM: 16 GB.
- Operating system: 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- Graphics API: DirectX 12.
- Storage: an SSD is required. S-GAME has not stated the installation capacity or a particular SSD model.
A hard-disk-only system does not satisfy the published storage requirement, even if its CPU and GPU appear fast enough. The requirements also do not establish whether a specific Windows edition, such as Home or Pro, is needed.

What the recommended specification means
S-GAME’s standard recommended profile moves the target to 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled. It names a Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X and either an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or RX 6700 XT 12GB.
Why this is the practical target for most gaming PCs
This is the clearest profile for a conventional modern gaming setup: it is higher than the 1080p/30 minimum but does not require the specialized hardware listed for path tracing. If your monitor is 1440p, this tier is the relevant starting point, subject to the qualification that the frame-rate figure comes from S-GAME rather than an independent test.
VRAM is not interchangeable across the examples
The RTX 3060 Ti example has 8GB, while the RX 6700 XT example has 12GB. Those capacities should be recorded when you compare your own card. A card with a similar name but less VRAM, a laptop variant, or an older architecture may not deliver the same result. S-GAME has not published per-setting VRAM consumption, so there is no official basis for assigning a stricter memory threshold.
Ray tracing and path tracing requirements
S-GAME publishes separate targets for the more demanding lighting modes. The ray-tracing recommendation is an RTX 5060 8GB for 1080p/60 FPS with upscaling enabled. The path-tracing recommendation is an RTX 5080 16GB for 2160p/60 FPS with upscaling enabled.

Ray tracing
NVIDIA has announced PC-exclusive ray-traced reflections, shadows, and caustics, alongside DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for launch day. The announcement confirms the features, but it does not quantify their frame-rate benefit. S-GAME’s RTX 5060 target should therefore be read as a developer pairing for the stated resolution and frame rate, not as evidence that every RTX 5060 system will hold 60 FPS in every scene.
Path tracing
Path tracing is assigned the much higher RTX 5080 16GB target at 2160p/60 FPS with upscaling. The specification does not state a CPU, graphics preset, exact path-tracing options, or expected VRAM usage. A processor that is adequate for the conventional recommended tier should not automatically be assumed to be suitable for this mode.
How to interpret the published frame-rate targets
The four figures—1080p/30, 1440p/60, 1080p/60 with ray tracing, and 2160p/60 with path tracing—are target outputs paired with upscaling. They are not native-resolution guarantees, laboratory benchmark results, or minimum frame rates.

No independent launch-build benchmark was available before the game’s scheduled release. That means you should use the profiles to classify hardware, not to predict an exact average or a guaranteed one-percent-low result.

What upscaling changes
With upscaling enabled, the game can render internally below the display resolution and reconstruct a higher-resolution image. The official profiles do not identify the internal resolution, quality mode, or upscaling technology used for each target. Consequently, “1440p/60 with upscaling” does not mean the GPU is rendering every pixel natively at 2560 by 1440.
Why scene-to-scene results can differ
Frame rate can vary with combat effects, the number of characters on screen, streaming activity, reflections, shadows, and other settings. Because S-GAME has not published a test methodology, the target should be treated as a broad expectation for an unspecified configuration rather than a promise that a particular demanding scene will never fall below the headline number.

- Check Windows: Open Settings > System > About and confirm that the system type is 64-bit. The supported operating systems are Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Check the processor: In the same About page, or in Task Manager’s Performance > CPU view, record the exact model. Compare it with the Core i7-8700K/Ryzen 5 3600 minimum examples and the Core i5-10600K/Ryzen 5 5600X recommended examples.
- Check the graphics card: In Settings > System > Display > Advanced display, or Task Manager’s Performance > GPU view, note the exact GPU and dedicated memory. Compare the model and VRAM, not just the brand or series number.
- Check RAM: Task Manager’s Performance > Memory panel should show at least 16 GB installed. The official requirement does not provide a separate 8GB or 32GB tier.
- Check DirectX: Press
Win+R, enterdxdiag, and review the DirectX version shown by the diagnostic tool. The game requires DirectX 12. - Check the installation drive: Confirm that the library location is an SSD. The developer requires solid-state storage but has not stated the game’s install size, so leave additional free space beyond the unknown package size and any platform update space.
If your system falls between the listed examples, the official information does not provide a reliable interpolation formula. You can identify which component is below the minimum class, but you cannot derive a guaranteed FPS figure from the published table.

Do not buy an upgrade solely because a component is older. First compare your actual target—1080p/30, 1440p/60, ray-traced 1080p/60, or path-traced 2160p/60—with the corresponding official profile. The published data does not establish a universal upgrade requirement for every PC that sits between tiers.
Graphics settings and upscaling decisions
The official announcements do not publish named presets, recommended texture settings, internal render resolutions, frame-generation defaults, or a VRAM budget. Avoid guides that present those values as official unless S-GAME supplies them in a later update.
For a PC near the minimum, the defensible starting point is the 1080p target with the game’s supported upscaling option enabled. For a PC near the standard recommended profile, begin with the 1440p/60 target and keep upscaling enabled as specified by S-GAME. If you enable ray tracing or path tracing, compare your hardware against the separate GPU recommendations rather than treating those modes as a small toggle on the standard profile.
Once the game is available, use an on-screen frame-time or FPS monitor and test the areas that matter to you, such as heavy combat and crowded environments. That practical check will be more informative than converting the developer’s target into a guaranteed average.
Release date and announced PC features
S-GAME’s current official website displays October 29, 2026. In a June 2, 2026 developer letter on Steam Community, the studio said the game moved from September 9 to October 29. The Steam product listing showed October 28, 2026 on October 13, likely reflecting storefront or regional timing. Use October 29 as the developer’s stated release date and check your storefront near launch if the exact unlock hour matters.
NVIDIA announced DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and PC-exclusive ray-traced reflections, shadows, and caustics for day one. Those announcements confirm intended features, not a measured performance uplift. In the delay letter, S-GAME also said it had spent additional effort preserving visual impact without relying on ray tracing. That is the studio’s design and optimization statement, not an independent image-quality or frame-rate assessment.
Important unknowns before launch
- No official game-install size has been stated.
- No CPU is specified for the ray-tracing or path-tracing profiles.
- No graphics presets or exact upscaler modes are identified for the targets.
- No VRAM consumption by setting is published.
- No independent benchmark, launch-build frame-time result, or measured upscaling gain is available in the published material.
These omissions matter when planning a purchase. The requirements can tell you whether your PC is at, above, or below a named class, but they cannot predict exact frame pacing, visual quality, or the performance cost of each optional feature.
