Yes, Petit Planet has multiplayer, but it is primarily optional social play rather than a shared campaign. The currently documented features are the Galactic Bazaar social hub and visits to another player’s planet. You can chat, play instruments, join a rhythm-based dance battle, trade items, and earn cosmetic rewards in the Bazaar. On player planets, hosts decide whether visits are allowed and what visitors may do with resources. No official source currently confirms a conventional co-op story, shared quest progression, or a mandatory team mode.
Petit Planet multiplayer at a glance
The clearest way to understand Petit Planet is as a personal life-simulation game with a social layer. Your planet remains your own retreat, while multiplayer activities let you meet other players for shorter, optional sessions. The description below reflects features documented during the 2026 test period, so interface labels and availability can change before launch.
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Is Petit Planet multiplayer? | Yes. Multiplayer currently centers on the Galactic Bazaar and optional visits to other players’ planets. |
| Does it have co-op? | It has synchronous social activities and planet visits. A shared story campaign or shared quest progression has not been confirmed. |
| Can friends visit my planet? | Yes, if you allow visits. A host can make the planet private. |
| Can visitors take resources? | Resource interaction is permission-controlled. You choose whether a visitor can access resources, and the host can inspect a visitor’s bag before departure. |
| Does it have chat? | Yes. The documented guide says direct conversation requires friendship. |
| Can the café be private? | Yes. The Galactic Bazaar café can be public or limited to friends. |
What multiplayer means in Petit Planet
Petit Planet’s multiplayer design separates social encounters from ownership of your home planet. The App Store describes the game as a personal retreat where you can make friends, interact with fuzzy Neighbors, and visit the Galactic Bazaar. That framing matters: multiplayer is available when you want company, but you are not required to share your everyday planet or follow a group storyline.
There are two documented multiplayer modes:
- Galactic Bazaar: a social hub for conversation, music, a dance-battle rhythm game, trading, and cosmetic rewards.
- Planet visits: optional visits to another player’s planet, governed by the host’s privacy and resource permissions.
Calling these activities “co-op” is reasonable when you mean playing together in real time. It is misleading if you expect a standard two-player campaign in which both players permanently advance the same quests, inventory, or story. No such shared progression is cited in the current documentation.

What you can do together in the Galactic Bazaar
Talk after becoming friends
The documented multiplayer guide says direct conversation requires friendship. In practical terms, simply encountering someone in the hub does not automatically grant unrestricted private conversation. Friendship therefore acts as an access boundary for at least some communication, rather than every visitor being treated as a known contact.
The official site’s Community Guidelines cover chat, messages, visits, team activities, privacy, safety, and reporting. Read those rules before using text or other communication features, especially when playing with people you do not know offline.
Play instruments together
The Bazaar supports shared music-making. Players can play instruments in the same social space, making this a low-pressure activity for a group that wants to spend time together without competing or coordinating a long quest.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Join the dance-battle rhythm game
The hub also includes a dance-battle rhythm game. This is the most structured documented activity in the Bazaar: players participate in a timed rhythm experience rather than merely standing together and chatting. The available material does not establish a detailed scoring system, team size, or progression rules, so those specifics should not be assumed from the word “battle.”
Trade items and earn cosmetic rewards
Trading is another Bazaar activity. Multiplayer rewards can be redeemed for cosmetics, giving social sessions a purpose beyond conversation. The published information does not state the complete item catalog, exchange limits, or whether every trade is reversible, so confirm the on-screen terms before accepting an exchange.

Choose a public or friends-only café
The café has its own visibility choice: it can be public or private for friends. Treat that as a separate decision from your planet’s visit setting. A public café does not automatically mean your personal planet is open, and making your planet private does not necessarily describe every Bazaar room you enter.
How planet visits work
Visits are optional, not a shared-world requirement
You can visit another player’s planet when that player permits visitors. The host remains in control of the planet, so a visit is better understood as a permissioned drop-in session than as permanent co-ownership of a shared world.
The host can make a planet private
If you do not want visitors, set your planet to private. This is the clearest way to prevent unwanted drop-ins. Because the game is still in testing, the exact menu wording may change; look for the planet visibility or visit-permission control rather than relying on a specific label from a preview guide.
Resource access is controlled by permissions
Visitors do not automatically receive unrestricted access to everything on a planet. The documented guide says resource interaction is permission-controlled. Before opening a visit, decide whether the person should be able to interact with or take resources. Give access only when you trust the visitor and understand what the permission allows.
Check a visitor’s bag before they leave
The host can check a visitor’s bag before departure. This provides a final review of what the visitor is carrying from the session. It is not a substitute for setting restrictive permissions in advance: prevention is safer than discovering an unwanted transfer at the end.

Is Petit Planet a traditional co-op game?
Not according to the currently documented features. The evidence supports real-time social play, trading, a mini-game, shared music, and visits. It does not confirm:

- quests that permanently advance for all members of a group;
- a mandatory team mode;
- a shared planet jointly owned by multiple players; or
- cross-session progression that belongs equally to every visitor.
That distinction helps set expectations. If you want a relaxed game where friends meet, perform activities, exchange items, and tour one another’s spaces, the documented multiplayer fits. If you want a conventional cooperative adventure in which one player’s mission completion carries into another player’s save, wait for a later official specification rather than assuming the Bazaar and visits provide it.
How to use multiplayer safely
Use this sequence when setting up a social session. The names of buttons may change while Petit Planet remains in beta, but the decisions should remain the same.
- Confirm your test access and connection. The Final Beta supports Windows PC, iOS, and Android and requires an internet connection. It is limited-access and data-wipe, so do not treat test progress as permanent.
- Decide whether you want a hub session or a planet visit. Enter the Galactic Bazaar for chat, instruments, the dance-battle rhythm game, or trading. Use a planet visit when you want to show someone your own space or tour theirs.
- Establish the friendship boundary for conversation. Direct conversation is documented as requiring friendship. Do not assume that being in the same café grants private chat access.
- Set café visibility deliberately. Choose a public café when you want open social traffic, or a friends-only café when you want a smaller group. Keep this choice separate from your planet’s privacy setting.
- Set your planet to private when no visitors are wanted. Do this before starting a session. A private planet is the appropriate setting for decorating, collecting, or playing alone.
- Review resource permissions before accepting a visitor. Grant only the level of access needed for the activity. If the visit is just a tour, there is no reason to provide broader resource interaction.
- Inspect the visitor’s bag at departure. Use the host review described in the multiplayer guide to check what is leaving the planet.
- Report problems through the game’s safety process. The Community Guidelines cover reporting as well as chat, messages, visits, team activities, privacy, and safety. Save relevant details and use the in-game or official reporting route rather than escalating a dispute in public chat.
Privacy settings and safety decisions
Use layered controls, not one global switch
Petit Planet’s documented controls operate at different layers. Planet privacy governs whether people can visit your home. Café visibility governs who can enter that social setting. Friendship governs direct conversation. Resource permissions govern what an approved visitor can interact with. Configure each one for the activity you are about to host.
Start restrictive, then open access
For a first session, keep the planet private, use a friends-only café, and leave resource interaction restricted. Open one control at a time after you understand who can enter and what they can do. This approach reduces accidental exposure while you learn the test build.

Do not treat beta labels as permanent
HoYoverse says the Final Beta is still in development and that test content does not represent final quality. A preview guide may describe a setting accurately for its publication date while the final release moves it, renames it, or changes its default. Check the current in-game explanation whenever a permission prompt appears.
Follow the Community Guidelines
The official site’s notices identify Community Guidelines that address chat, messages, visits, team activities, privacy, safety, and reporting. Those rules are the relevant reference for harassment, unwanted contact, suspicious behavior, and disputes over visits or trades. The Terms identify COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD. as the service provider and incorporate the Privacy Policy.

Data privacy disclosures
Storefront disclosures provide a high-level view, not a complete privacy policy. Google Play’s developer-provided disclosure says the app does not share data with third parties, may collect personal and financial information among other data types, encrypts data in transit, and allows users to request deletion. Apple’s listing says privacy practices may vary by feature and age.

Troubleshooting common multiplayer questions
I cannot talk to someone in the Bazaar
Check whether the friendship requirement has been met. Being in the same public space is not documented as sufficient for direct conversation. If you are testing a newer build, also reread the current prompt because beta permissions can change.
A friend cannot visit my planet
Check the planet’s privacy setting first. A private planet blocks visits by design. If visits are enabled, review whether the invitation or session is limited to friends and confirm that both players have a working internet connection.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →A visitor interacted with resources unexpectedly
End the session, inspect the visitor’s bag, and tighten resource permissions before the next visit. Do not rely on the bag check as the only safeguard; set the narrowest permission that matches the activity.
I expected a shared campaign
The currently documented modes do not promise shared story or quest progression. Use the Bazaar and planet visits as social features, and wait for an official announcement before planning a campaign around persistent cooperative advancement.
My beta progress disappeared
A data wipe is part of the Final Beta conditions. Losing test progress is therefore an expected possibility, not evidence that a multiplayer session failed.
Bottom line for prospective players
Petit Planet is multiplayer in a deliberately lightweight, social sense. Meet friends in the Galactic Bazaar, play music, compete in its dance-battle rhythm activity, trade for cosmetic rewards, or visit a planet whose owner has opened it. Privacy controls let hosts make planets private, limit cafés to friends, and restrict resource access, with a bag check available before visitors leave. What is not established is a traditional shared campaign or permanent co-op progression. Because these details come from a 2026 Final Beta, verify the settings and feature list in the current build before treating them as final.
