Petit Planet is not fully available yet. The free-to-play life-simulation game is scheduled for Winter 2026 on PC, iOS, and Android, while the current Final Beta is invite-only, wipes progress, and does not accept purchases. If you have access to the test, follow the main story first, feed Luca to the Luca Arbor whenever possible, gather with every tool, cook to protect your Strength, and sail the Starsea as soon as it unlocks. This route opens land and systems quickly without wasting limited resources.
Can you play Petit Planet now?
The current status is a planned Winter 2026 launch, not a full public release. Pre-registration is listed for the App Store, Google Play, Epic Games Store, and HoYoPlay. The Final Beta began on 20 September 2026 and is restricted to invited accounts. It is a test build: progress is wiped when the test ends, and purchases are disabled.
The exact launch day has not been announced. Storage figures currently associated with the test build are 18 GB on PC, 10 GB on iOS, and 12 GB on Android; treat those as provisional because the launch package and requirements may change. The game is free-to-play at launch according to the current status information, but the beta’s no-purchase rule should not be read as a complete description of future monetization.

What to do in your first hours
1. Follow the main story
Use the story as your tutorial and progression track rather than immediately trying to optimize every crop or collectible. Early quests introduce Yunguo, Elsasani, Glenn, and Mobai, teach the farming loop, and unlock Starsea Voyage. The story also reveals which activities are available in a sensible order, so skipping ahead can leave you with tools or systems you cannot yet use.

- Complete the opening objectives until the farming tutorial is finished.
- Keep talking to the named characters when a quest marker appears; their introductions connect later Neighbor and voyage systems.
- When Starsea Voyage becomes available, take the introductory trip instead of postponing it indefinitely. It is the route to new Islets, resources, puzzles, and potential Neighbors.
2. Feed Luca to the Luca Arbor
The Luca Arbor is the planet’s central progression gate. Luca gathered from ordinary activity is fed to the Arbor, and its levels expand your usable land, weather systems, mountain access, and Neighbor capacity. Do not hoard Luca while leaving a level affordable; an Arbor upgrade usually unlocks more ways to earn the next batch.

The progression guide does not state the Luca cost for every level, so do not rely on an assumed price. Check the in-game Arbor screen for the current requirement, including any Neighbor’s Luca requirement.
3. Gather with every tool
Petit Planet divides gathering into tool-based activities. Carrying out each one during a normal route is more efficient than specializing too early, because Luca, Dough, collection entries, and cooking ingredients come from different sources.
- Fishing Rod: catches fish in waters around the planet and during voyages.
- Insect Net: captures bugs whose appearances can depend on time or weather.
- Shellfish Tongs: collects shellfish and other beach finds.
- Shovel: handles digging spots and underground finds.
- Mattock: breaks mining nodes and supplies mineral resources.
Gathering is not just a money activity. It supplies gifts, recipes, Folio entries, upgrade materials, and the Luca earned from activity on the planet.
4. Cook before long work sessions
Chopping, mining, and digging consume Strength. Raw apples restore a small amount, while cooked dishes restore more, making a short cooking session the practical way to extend a gathering run. Keep a reserve of food before a mining or excavation trip rather than returning home as soon as your Strength bar drops.
Higher-grade harvests support better recipes. Harvest crops promptly, sort the stronger grades for cooking, and use lower-grade produce for routine recovery or sales when your recipe stock is secure. The guide lists 92 recipes, although the exact recipe list and values come from the 0.95 Final Beta build and may change before launch.

How to plan each in-game day
A good daily loop has four passes: maintain the farm, check conditions, build relationships, and spend your activity currencies. The order below minimizes missed time windows.

Harvest mature crops, replant immediately, and reserve high-grade produce for recipes. Replanting first prevents an accidental day without a crop cycle.
- Check the clock and weather. Creature availability is conditional. The guide records 19 fish that bite only at night and also notes creatures that appear only when it rains. Plan your route around those windows instead of spending the whole day on a single tool.
- Run a mixed gathering circuit. Visit water, the beach, digging spots, and mining nodes with the appropriate tool. Stop to cook when Strength becomes the limiting resource.
- Talk to Neighbors. Chat with residents and give gifts from their preferred lists. Matching a gift to a preference raises bonds more efficiently than handing out random surplus.
- Clear Galactic Bazaar activities. The guide documents up to 80 Bazaar Jellies from daily Bazaar activity. Daily Mingle adds 10 Jellies for visiting and 8 for chatting at Cafe Untamed, so complete those interactions when you are already in the hub.
- Finish Footprints achievements. Footprints reward Loomi, the currency used in the Loomix Mart. Review the achievement progress before logging off so a nearly completed task does not remain forgotten.
- Spend rather than stockpile without a purpose. Use Dough for a needed shop purchase or house upgrade, Jellies at the Prize Kiosk, and voyage currency on a Star Gate or upgrade when it advances your current objective.
Resources and currencies explained

These currencies are not interchangeable. Selling everything for Dough can slow Arbor growth if you neglect Luca, while ignoring Footprints leaves Loomi unearned. Keep a small working reserve of food, gift items, and upgrade materials, then sell genuine surplus.
Farming, cooking, and Strength management
Farming priorities
Farming is both a steady income source and the foundation of cooking. Harvest every mature plot, replant during the same visit, and avoid letting an unlocked plot sit empty. Once weather becomes available at Arbor level 4, inspect conditions before choosing what to plant or what route to take; weather also affects creature appearances.
- Use higher-grade harvests for recipes that restore more Strength or support better dishes.
- Sell ordinary surplus for Dough after reserving ingredients required by recipes you already know.
- Expand plots through Arbor levels instead of treating more seeds as a substitute for land.
Cooking for long expeditions
Raw apples are an emergency refill, not a replacement for cooked food. Prepare dishes before mining, digging, or a long Starsea route, where returning early can cost more time than cooking at home. Because the guide records 92 recipes in the beta build, experiment with newly discovered ingredients, but do not assume a recipe’s ingredients or recovery value will remain unchanged after launch.
Recovering from an empty Strength bar
If Strength runs out, stop tool work, eat available food, and switch to low-cost tasks such as talking to Neighbors, checking the Bazaar, or arranging crops. Starting a mining or digging trip without a food reserve is the most common avoidable interruption in the early game.

Use time and weather as your filter
Creature collection rewards observation rather than constant roaming. Check the clock before fishing: 19 fish in the guide are night-only. Rain also enables some creatures, so a rainy day can be more valuable for collection than a clear day spent repeating a familiar route.

Choose the right tool
- Fish at water with the Fishing Rod, especially during the documented night windows.
- Carry the Insect Net when conditions favor bugs; keep an eye on the weather before committing to another activity.
- Use Shellfish Tongs along the beach for shellfish and shoreline finds.
- Follow Shovel prompts at digging spots, and bring food if the route includes repeated excavation.
- Use the Mattock on mining nodes, ideally after preparing cooked dishes for Strength recovery.
What to keep, sell, or give
Keep the first example of an unfamiliar creature or material for collection progress and possible gifts. Duplicate catches can become Dough, ingredients, or presents once you know they are not needed for a recipe or bond request. Avoid selling a rare find immediately if it is the only item in your Folio; collection progress has rewards beyond cash.
Starsea Voyages and Islets
After the story unlocks Starsea Voyage, speak with Elsasani to set out. You can take up to two Neighbors, and Star Anchors let you land on Islets. An Islet may contain resources, puzzles, chests, or an encounter with a new Neighbor, so voyages combine exploration, collection, and relationship progress.
- Before departure, cook enough food for tool use and decide whether the trip’s goal is resources, a puzzle, a chest, or a Neighbor encounter.
- Invite up to two Neighbors when their presence supports your bond or voyage objective.
- Use Star Anchors to land rather than sailing past every island; landing is where the meaningful discoveries are.
- Search the Islet methodically for gathering nodes, puzzle clues, and chests before moving on.
- Collect Islet Lucadrops and spend them on Star Gates or voyage upgrades when the new access will improve your next route.
Deeper Starsea areas provide stronger exploration incentives: resources, puzzles, Galaxy Stars, and chests. Treat exploration as a separate progression axis from the Arbor. A new Star Gate can be more valuable than another routine sale because it opens locations and future collection entries.

Unlocking and bonding with Neighbors
The guide documents 16 Neighbors, though the roster can change before launch. New residents can be encountered through the story, Islet exploration, and other activities. Once a Neighbor is available, bonding combines chats, preferred gifts, events, and voyages.
A reliable bond routine
- Chat whenever the Neighbor is available instead of waiting for a special event.
- Use items from that Neighbor’s preferred list; do not spend valuable one-off collectibles until you know the preference.
- Invite the Neighbor on suitable voyages and complete help requests that award Neighbor’s Luca.
- Attend bond events as they appear, since a single event can advance the relationship without consuming a rare gift.
Why bond levels matter
Bonding unlocks Bond Talents and keepsakes. Homi Decor becomes available at Bond Level 6, and a BFF outfit is documented at Bond Level 8. These are progression and customization rewards, not merely dialogue milestones. Focus on a small group of Neighbors first if you need a specific talent or Arbor-related Neighbor’s Luca, then broaden your roster.
Collection progress, Folio Score, and rewards
Every new creature and furniture item contributes to Folio Score. The score supports titles, Dough, and rugs, so collection work has tangible rewards even when the item is not useful for crafting. Record what you have already found mentally or through the Folio before selling duplicates, and use night or rain windows to target missing entries.

Collection is a separate axis from Arbor growth and Neighbor bonds. A player who only farms can advance land but miss Folio rewards; a player who only hunts creatures may have a strong collection but lack the Dough or Luca needed for upgrades. Rotate activities so each day advances at least two axes.

Galactic Bazaar and multiplayer features
Petit Planet supports visiting friends’ planets and includes a Galactic Bazaar hub. The Bazaar offers music, fishing, a dance activity, and other social interactions. Daily Mingle rewards are documented as 10 Jellies for visiting and 8 for chatting at Cafe Untamed, while the guide records up to 80 Jellies per day from Bazaar activity overall.
These systems are social, but you do not need to abandon solo progression to use them. Visit the Bazaar during your daily currency pass, claim the interactions you can complete, and return to farming or exploration. The available guide does not specify the final player-count limits, cross-platform rules, or an always-online requirement, so those details should be checked in the launch version rather than inferred from the beta.

Common mistakes and how to recover
Ignoring the Arbor while saving Luca
Recovery: check the Arbor requirement, then run a mixed activity route that gathers Luca while also producing food or sale items. The expansion usually improves future earning capacity, so delaying an affordable level has an opportunity cost.
Fishing at the wrong time
Recovery: check the clock and return at night for the documented night-only fish. Use rain windows for creatures that require them instead of repeatedly searching in clear weather.
Spending every crop and catch
Recovery: keep ingredients for known recipes, a few preferred gifts, and the first copy of unfamiliar collection items. Sell only duplicates and clear surplus once those reserves are covered.

Starting a mine or dig route without food
Recovery: cook first or carry apples as an emergency option. Chopping, mining, and digging all consume Strength, and raw apples restore less than cooked dishes.
Missing daily Bazaar or Footprints rewards
Recovery: make the Bazaar and achievement screens part of the daily logout routine. Visit, chat at Cafe Untamed, complete available activities, and claim Footprints rewards before ending the session.
Treating beta information as final
Recovery: verify requirements and values in your current build. The documented figures come from the 0.95 Final Beta build, and names, prices, drop sources, storage needs, and other systems may change before Winter 2026 launch.

Days 1–2: establish the loop
Follow the story, finish the farming tutorial, gather with each newly available tool, and cook enough food to avoid Strength stalls. Feed Luca to the Arbor whenever the next level is within reach.
Days 3–4: expand and diversify
Replant every plot, sell surplus for Dough, begin regular Neighbor chats and preferred gifts, and test the clock and weather for creature appearances. Claim Footprints rewards as they unlock.
Days 5–7: open the wider systems
Complete the Starsea introduction, land on Islets with Star Anchors, bring Neighbors on voyages, and collect Lucadrops for the next Star Gate or voyage upgrade. Add the Galactic Bazaar to your daily route and reserve one session for Folio hunting at night or in rain.
This plan is deliberately flexible: if an Arbor upgrade is ready, take it; if weather creates a rare collection window, switch the day’s route; if a Neighbor needs help, prioritize the bond and Neighbor’s Luca reward.
