Yes, you can reroll Persona 5: The Phantom X, but most players should first complete the discounted beginner banner and keep a solid account rather than reset indefinitely for a limited character. The practical loop uses the automatically created guest account: finish only the opening tutorial, unlock Contracts, collect mail and login rewards, spend the available pulls, then delete the guest account from the title-screen User center if the result misses your stopping rule. Prydwen’s documented route takes up to 10 minutes per attempt.
Limited-character rerolling is worthwhile only when the featured character is a personal priority, the banner is live on your server, and your starting currency gives you a realistic chance to reach the relevant pity. A reroll gives you an advantage at the start; it is not required to clear the game.
What rerolling means in Persona 5: The Phantom X
Rerolling means repeatedly creating fresh guest accounts until the early Contracts pulls produce an opening roster you are willing to keep. You do not need a second email address for the initial attempts. When the game is launched for the first time, SEGA creates a guest account automatically; that account can be deleted and replaced from the title screen.
The process is deliberately short when you stop after the minimum tutorial. Prydwen’s reroll guide, updated June 27, 2025, says the complete loop can take up to 10 minutes. Your actual time depends on download speed, loading screens, dialogue settings and how quickly the early objectives unlock Contracts.
A sensible reroll objective is a good foundation, not a mathematically perfect account. The beginner banner gives the most predictable value, while limited banners can consume all of a new account’s currency without producing the featured character. Decide in advance what result is good enough, then stop when you reach it.
When rerolling is worth your time
Use a limited-character reroll only if all three conditions below are true:
- You genuinely want the featured character. A character you will enjoy using is a better reason to reroll than a tier-list ranking that may change with future patches.
- The banner is currently live on your server. Limited contracts rotate. The official Persona 5: The Phantom X site listed 5-star Mitsuru Kirijo in Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contracts on October 15, 2026; that listing is a dated example, not a promise that the same character will remain available.
- Your starting resources support a realistic attempt. Game.Guide’s October 2026 advice is that a new account usually does not have enough currency to reach a limited rate-up guarantee. Resetting blindly for every limited unit is therefore inefficient.
If any one of those conditions is missing, take the best beginner-banner account you can make and save your currency for a future opportunity. A limited target may return, while the hours spent restarting cannot be recovered.
Do this before your first reroll
Use guest login
Start from the game’s automatically created guest account. Do not attach it to a permanent login while you are still testing results. Linking preserves progress, so linking the wrong attempt can make the reset process more difficult.

Prepare a stopping rule
Write down the result that will make you keep an account. Examples include the beginner selector character you want, one or more strong standard characters, or a featured limited character obtained without exhausting an unrealistic number of attempts. Also set a time or attempt cap. Since a documented loop can take up to 10 minutes, a two-hour session could already represent a dozen attempts before loading and connection delays.
Know which rewards you are collecting
The early route is built around standard tickets and other one-time rewards. Prydwen’s documented path includes 20 standard pulls from mail, another ten-pull after additional early progress, and two standard pulls from the event’s daily login. Reward quantities and event names can change, so read the live mailbox and login screen rather than assuming an old campaign is still active.
Step-by-step reroll procedure
- Launch the game and select the automatically created guest account. Choose guest access when prompted. A new guest login starts a separate game from the beginning.
- Complete only the mandatory opening sequence. Follow the tutorial until the Contracts or summon system is available. Avoid optional upgrades, story exploration and resource spending that do not unlock pulls.
- Collect every early reward. Open the mailbox, claim standard tickets and currency, and complete the available login-event claims. The documented route collects 20 standard pulls from mail, then reaches another ten-pull after additional early progress and takes two more standard pulls from the event daily login.
- Spend the beginner-banner pulls first. The newcomer sequence discounts its first five ten-pulls to eight pulls each. You therefore receive 50 attempts for the cost of 40 pulls, and the reroll guide describes a selector at the end of that 50-attempt sequence. This is the default baseline for a fresh account.
- Evaluate the result against your rule. Check the selector outcome, standard 5-star results and any limited result you happened to obtain. Keep the account if it meets your predefined target; do not move the goalposts because another account might be marginally better.
- Delete only a rejected guest account. Return to the title screen, open User, choose the account-management option to delete the guest account, confirm the prompts, and begin again. SEGA warns that deleting an account or selecting Guest Login during the switching process creates a new account and starts the game from the beginning.
Menu wording can vary by platform or patch. If the delete control is not visible, return fully to the title screen rather than deleting application data at random; reinstalling is not the documented reroll method and may create avoidable download time.

Banner economics: where to spend early pulls

These mechanics are published values from the current reroll information available in 2026, not permanent rules. Pity limits, discounts, selectors and exchange rewards can change with a patch. Before spending, open the actual Contract screen in your live client and verify the banner name, end date, rate details and pity description.
How to interpret the Chance banner
The 0.8% base 5-star rate describes the chance of a 5-star before pity effects. At the 80-pull hard pity, the banner guarantees a 5-star outcome, but the published 50% rate-up rule means that outcome is not automatically the featured limited character. A reroll that reaches a 5-star and misses the rate-up may still be a strong account if the character is useful, but it does not satisfy a strict “featured unit or reset” rule.
How to interpret the Targeted banner
The Targeted banner trades a lower 0.4% base rate and a longer 110-pull hard pity for a guaranteed rate-up 5-star at that pity. The separate 165-cumulative-pull milestone adds a random permanent 5-star. That guarantee is valuable only if you can actually accumulate the required pulls; a new account that cannot reach it is taking the lower early rate without receiving the certainty that makes the banner attractive.
Should you chase a limited character during a reroll?
Chase one when the target is your priority
If a particular character is the reason you started the game, rerolling is a legitimate way to try for them before investing time. Set a strict number of attempts and accept that the result can still be unsuccessful. The character’s current banner must be live on your server, and you should confirm its closing date in the client.
Prefer the beginner banner when you are undecided
The discounted sequence gives five ten-pulls for the price of four and ends with a selector according to the reroll guide. That predictable value is usually stronger than spending the same starting resources on a limited banner whose rate-up outcome may not be guaranteed. A good standard roster also gives you time to learn combat and save for a rerun.
Do not reset for every new banner
Banner availability changes quickly. The official site’s October 15, 2026 listing of Mitsuru Kirijo demonstrates why advice must identify a character and date instead of treating a limited unit as permanently available. A target that is excellent today may be replaced by a better fit for your account, or its banner may disappear before another reroll session is worthwhile.
How many pulls should you spend before keeping an account?
There is no universal pull count because the answer depends on your target and the rewards active on your server. Use this decision order:
- Finish the beginner value first. Spend the discounted newcomer pulls before diverting currency to a limited contract unless the limited banner is your explicit priority.
- Compare your available pulls with the pity requirement. If your starting rewards cannot approach 80 pulls for the Chance banner or 110 pulls for the Targeted banner, treat a limited hit as luck rather than a reliable plan.
- Separate “any 5-star” from “the rate-up 5-star.” The Chance banner’s 50% rate-up outcome means one 5-star is not enough for a strict featured-character goal. The Targeted banner’s guarantee arrives at its stated pity, not at the first pull.
- Stop at the first account that meets your rule. Do not spend additional pulls merely because a second account could have a slightly better standard roster. The value of another attempt is limited by the time it costs and by the possibility that future balance changes alter today’s ranking.
For many players, “beginner selector plus at least one useful standard 5-star” is a rational stopping point. For a character-focused player, “the featured unit appears within my preset attempt cap” may be the rule. Both are valid; what matters is choosing the rule before random results begin influencing you.

Link the account only after you have decided to keep it. Use one of the login methods supported by the current client, then verify that the linked account opens the same progress on a second device or after a sign-out before deleting anything else.

SEGA’s support guidance states: “Please note that Selecting Guest Login or deleting an account during the switching process will create a new account and start the game from the beginning.” In practical terms, a linked account is the one you should use for future sessions; a guest account remains disposable until you commit to it.
Record which login method you used and keep access to that credential. Linking protects progress when you change devices or reinstall, but it does not turn a rejected reroll into a recoverable account if you deleted it first.

Fix: Keep all trial accounts as guests. Link only the final account, and confirm the account identity before beginning normal progression.
Spending limited currency before the beginner sequence
Symptom: You have fewer pulls for the discounted five-ten-pull sequence and cannot reach its selector efficiently.
Fix: Collect the mail and login rewards, unlock Contracts, and use the beginner banner first unless a specific limited character is your stated objective.
Assuming a 5-star is automatically the rate-up unit
Symptom: A Chance-banner 5-star appears, but it is not the featured character.

Resetting without deleting the guest account
Symptom: Relaunching returns you to the same progress.

Fix: Return to the title screen, open User, delete the rejected guest account, and then select Guest Login again. A new guest login begins from the start, as SEGA explains.
Treating old banner data as current
Symptom: The character or pity terms in a guide do not match the Contract screen.

Fix: Check the live banner’s name, dates and rules in your client. The published Mitsuru Kirijo listing on October 15, 2026 is a dated example of how quickly availability rotates.
Rerolling forever
Symptom: You keep rejecting accounts that already meet your original goal.

Fix: Use the attempt or time cap you set before starting. A reroll is a starting advantage, not a requirement for clearing the game, and future banners may offer a better use for saved currency.
A practical stopping checklist
- The account remains unlinked while you are still testing it.
- The mandatory tutorial is complete and Contracts are unlocked.
- Mailbox, login-event and early-progress rewards have been claimed.
- The discounted beginner sequence has been used, unless a deliberate limited-banner plan takes priority.
- Your selector result and standard 5-star roster meet the rule you wrote before rerolling.
- If you chased a limited unit, the banner was live on your server and the result fits your preset attempt cap.
- You have checked the current Contract screen instead of relying on an old banner schedule.
- The accepted account is linked and verified before changing devices or reinstalling.
Verdict
For most new players, reroll once through the discounted beginner banner, keep a useful selector and standard 5-star foundation, and begin saving. A limited-character reroll makes sense only for a live banner and a character you specifically value, with enough starting currency to make the relevant pity realistic. Keep the account as soon as it satisfies your rule, then link it so the progress survives future logins and reinstalls.
