Peacock can still be a good-value streaming service, but it is no longer an automatic low-cost pick: prices rose on August 18, 2026, and the least expensive Select plan leaves out movies, sports, and Peacock Originals. For the service’s full lineup, Premium costs $12.99 a month or $129.99 a year and includes ads. It is most compelling if you want specific NBC or Bravo shows, Universal movies, Peacock Originals, or sports events Peacock carries.
What does Peacock cost in 2026?
Peacock and NBCUniversal list these direct-billed prices, effective August 18, 2026. An annual plan is paid upfront; the savings below compare its price with 12 monthly payments at the current rate.

Peacock’s price-change help page says existing annual subscribers and customers with promotional offers keep their current prices until the applicable plan or offer expires. Affected subscribers may see the new rate at a later renewal, so check the price and renewal date shown in your account. [c001]

The lower Select price comes with a meaningful content trade-off. Choose based on the categories you actually plan to watch, not just the monthly amount.

What do you get for the price?
Peacock describes Premium as including hundreds of movies, full seasons of TV, Peacock Original series, current NBC and Bravo hits, live sports, 24/7 Peacock Channels, daily live news, and late night. Premium Plus adds downloads for select shows and movies on mobile devices. These are service descriptions, not a guarantee that a particular title will remain in the catalog; check Peacock’s current listings for anything you intend to watch. [c003]

TV, movies, and originals
Peacock’s value is strongest when its NBC and Bravo programming, movies, or originals are already on your watch list. Select may suit someone who mainly wants eligible TV, but it does not include the movies or originals that make the broader service proposition more distinctive. Premium is the entry point for those categories.
Live sports
Sports can make Peacock more useful, but a sports label is not a promise that every league, event, or game is available. A 2026 Tom’s Guide review identifies live programming as a strength while noting that coverage is not universal. Before subscribing for sports, verify that Peacock carries the specific events you follow. [c005]

Ads and offline viewing
Premium is ad-supported. Premium Plus is described as an experience without ads, but Peacock still places ads in channels, live sports and events, and some shows and movies. Downloads are limited to select titles and mobile devices, so the plan does not guarantee ad-free playback or offline access to every program. [c002] [c003]
Is Peacock still a low-cost streaming service?
That depends on which plan you need. Select is the lowest-priced option, but its exclusions mean it is not a like-for-like bargain if you subscribe for films, originals, or sports. Premium is the relevant comparison for those categories, and Premium Plus costs substantially more if fewer ads and eligible downloads matter to you.

A 2026 Tom’s Guide review evaluates Peacock across price, library, originals, interface, and live content, useful dimensions for weighing value beyond the bill. Its published Peacock prices predate the August increase, so they should not be used as current rates. Who should subscribe to Peacock?
- Consider Premium if you want Peacock’s movies, originals, sports, and broader TV offering and accept ads.
- Consider Select if eligible NBC, Bravo, or other TV is your main interest and you are comfortable going without sports, movies, and originals.
- Consider Premium Plus if reducing ads or downloading select titles to a mobile device is worth the higher price, while recognizing the remaining ad and download limits.
- Look elsewhere or subscribe selectively if you need a broad all-purpose catalog, expect every game in a sport to be available, or mainly want an ad-free experience at a lower price.
Can you watch Peacock on a TV?
Peacock lists Fire TV among supported platforms and specifies Fire OS 6 or later for Fire TV and Fire Tablet devices. Its support information says Fire Max 11 is not currently supported. That does not establish compatibility for every Fire TV model, so check the exact device and OS before buying hardware. A streaming stick may be an option if your television does not already support Peacock. [c004]

How to decide before you subscribe
- List the programs or events you want. Check Peacock’s current catalog and confirm that the sports events you follow are actually available.
- Match them to a tier. If you want movies, sports, or originals, Select is not sufficient; compare Premium with Premium Plus if ads or downloads matter.
- Compare the full-year cost. Use the current direct-billed monthly and annual rates, and check your account for any existing offer or renewal price.
- Check your viewing setup. Confirm that your TV or streaming device is supported, including the relevant OS requirement.
