Payhip can be a useful way for bloggers to sell their own products, but it is a checkout and commerce layer—not a replacement for a blog or a guarantee of sales. It supports digital downloads, courses, coaching, memberships, and physical products. Whether it is “any good” depends mainly on your product type, sales volume, desired storefront control, and willingness to manage fulfillment and tax obligations.
What Payhip does for a blogger
Payhip provides a seller storefront and checkout for products sold directly to an audience. It also describes embedding checkout into an existing website, so a blogger can keep publishing on their current site and use Payhip for transactions. Its documented role is selling and delivering products; it does not establish that Payhip replaces a blog’s publishing workflow, traffic acquisition, or every audience-management tool.
Payhip says it has over 370,000 sellers, creators, and entrepreneurs. That is a company-published count, not an independently audited measure of active sellers or their results. Payhip

How much does Payhip cost?
Payhip’s pricing page lists three plans with the same feature set. The plan fee is only part of the cost: payment processors may charge separate fees, and Payhip’s “no transaction fee” on Pro refers to Payhip’s fee, not all payment costs. The listed prices and rates below are Payhip’s current figures as shown on its pricing page; check the page again before choosing because fees can change.

Choose based on your sales, not just the monthly price
- Free: A low-commitment way to start, with a 5% Payhip fee on transactions.
- Plus: Adds a monthly charge while reducing Payhip’s transaction fee to 2%; it does not remove that fee.
- Pro: Removes Payhip’s transaction fee but costs more each month; processor fees may still apply.
To compare plans, estimate expected monthly sales and add the plan charge, Payhip transaction charges, and payment-provider fees. A break-even point cannot be stated without assumptions about order values, transaction volume, refunds, and processor terms.

Where Payhip may fit well
- One service supports several product formats, from downloads to recurring memberships and physical goods.
- Digital delivery is built in, reducing the need to send files manually after each purchase.
- Store building, coupons, email tools, and seller affiliate features are presented as platform features.
- The listed plans have the same feature set, so the pricing decision is not framed as choosing between different feature tiers.
These capabilities are most relevant if you already have an audience and want a direct way to sell your own products. They do not establish that Payhip will bring you traffic or convert readers into buyers.

Where to be cautious
A blogger-specific review updated January 22, 2024, criticized the platform’s customization options and analytics depth and noted the ongoing transaction fee on Plus. Those are that reviewer’s assessments, not independently tested findings here, and the exact limitations may have changed. A separate review updated July 1, 2026 offers more recent third-party context, but its conclusions are also opinions rather than guarantees. Retail Exec review
For a blog with an established design system or detailed reporting requirements, check whether the storefront and analytics meet your needs before migrating a sales workflow. The available evidence does not establish a live account test or direct comparison with other platforms.

What tax responsibilities does Payhip cover?
Payhip says it collects and remits digital VAT for the EU and UK, and describes collection and remittance for some other tax regions on its feature information. Its pricing information also says sellers can configure other taxes and Payhip reports them. This is not a statement that Payhip assumes every seller’s tax responsibilities: income tax, registrations, reporting, and other obligations depend on your jurisdiction and circumstances. Payhip’s two affiliate options are different
Promote Payhip as a partner
The Payhip Partner Program is for bloggers who refer prospective sellers to Payhip. Current official terms state a 50% recurring commission on transaction fees and paid plan charges collected from referred sellers, a 30-day cookie, and monthly PayPal payouts once the $50 threshold is reached. Self-referrals are prohibited. The terms also require partners to disclose their third-party status and potential compensation. Payhip’s terms say: “Partners should at all times make it clear they are a third party and not Payhip or an official representative of Payhip.”
Recruit affiliates for your own products
Separately, a seller can use Payhip’s affiliate feature to recruit people to promote the seller’s ebook, course, or other product. Payhip provides sales reports, but the seller is responsible for paying those affiliates. This is not the same as earning commission for referring sellers to Payhip. Payhip seller affiliate system
So, is Payhip any good for bloggers?
It is a plausible fit when you want to sell your own products directly, especially digital products, and value built-in delivery and several product formats. It is less compelling if your priority is avoiding transaction fees at low volume, if you need highly tailored storefront design or deep analytics, or if you expect the service to replace your publishing and audience-growth stack. Before committing, check payment-provider availability, calculate the combined platform and processor costs for your sales pattern, and confirm who handles fulfillment and applicable taxes.
