A Path of Titans Community Server that does not appear, rejects only some players, loads a modded map as Panjura, or loses its mods usually has one of four causes: blocked or misconfigured ports, a server/client version mismatch, an incorrect INI entry, or platform-incompatible content. Work through the symptom that matches your failure rather than changing several settings at once.
- Missing listing or failed connections: verify configured ports, port forwarding, and the host firewall.
- Only some players affected after an update: make sure the server and every client use the same patch.
- Modded map starts as Panjura: set both the mod ID and the exact internal map name in the correct INI files.
- Missing creatures or other mods: recheck every Mod ID, including zero-versus-letter-O characters, and confirm the mod still exists and supports the current game version.
- Only certain platforms fail: check the mod’s platform support; some map mods are too demanding for mobile devices.
What a Path of Titans Community Server needs
You must own the full game
Alderon’s Community Servers FAQ, dated May 12, 2025, states that any player who owns a full copy of Path of Titans can host a Community Server. Hosting is therefore different from merely joining someone else’s server: the operator needs a full game license as well as a machine or service on which to run the dedicated server.
Choose self-hosting or a game-server provider
The same FAQ identifies two routes: self-hosting and working with a game-server provider. Self-hosting means you supply and maintain the computer, operating system, network connection, firewall, storage, and server files. A provider supplies the server environment and usually handles much of the machine and network administration, but you still remain responsible for your game configuration, mods, and keeping the server compatible with the current release.

Self-hosting is a real network-service project
Alderon’s May 2026 development blog describes the current self-hosting path as downloading the dedicated-server software, running it on a dedicated machine, forwarding ports, and completing other setup work that can be complex for an average player. The blog discusses NAT punch-through as work in progress. Do not treat that development direction as a current feature that removes the need for port forwarding.

Use the symptom to choose the first check

When the server does not appear or nobody can connect
1. Confirm the server is actually running
Check the dedicated-server process on the host and stop any duplicate or stale instance before starting it again. A browser listing cannot be fixed from the game client if the server process has exited or is using a different configuration file than the one you edited. Record which instance and configuration you are testing so that each change is traceable.
2. Check the configured ports
The Hosting Wiki identifies configured ports as a primary cause of a server that is not listed or cannot accept connections. Compare the ports in the server configuration with the ports forwarded by your router or upstream network device. A mismatch means traffic is sent somewhere other than the running server.

Check both ends of the path:
- The dedicated server must be listening on the ports it is configured to use.
- The router or network edge must forward those ports to the dedicated machine’s current local address.
- If the machine’s local address changes, a forwarding rule can silently point at the wrong device.
- Any additional network layer between the internet and the host must allow the same traffic.
Do not assume that a successful local launch proves internet reachability. Local operation and an externally reachable port are separate tests.
3. Inspect the host firewall
If the server appears in the browser but connections fail, the Hosting Wiki specifically directs operators to inspect the host firewall for blocked traffic. Create or correct the inbound rule for the server’s configured ports and the dedicated-server application, then restart the server and test again. Check the firewall on the machine running the server, not only the router.

4. Test with one controlled client
After each network change, have one player retry while the server is running. If that test works, add other players one at a time. This separates a general reachability problem from a client-specific version, platform, or mod problem and prevents several simultaneous changes from obscuring the cause.
When only some players can join
Check update parity before changing networking
A selective failure after a game update usually points to version parity rather than a port problem. Alderon’s Hosting Wiki states that the server and every client must be on the same patch. A stale server can reject current clients, while a stale client can be the only member of a group that cannot join a current server.
- Note the server’s installed patch or build shown by its management software.
- Ask one successful player and one failing player to verify their client update status.
- Update the server and affected clients to the same patch, then restart the dedicated server.
- Retest before changing mods or firewall rules.
Do not infer that the server is healthy for everyone merely because one friend connected. A mixed-version group can produce exactly that pattern.
Fixing a modded map that loads as Panjura
This symptom means the server is not selecting the modded map, even if the map package is installed. The fix requires two separate settings and the map name must match the mod’s exact internal name, including spelling and capitalization.

- Stop the server. Editing live files while the process is running can be overwritten or ignored at restart.
- Open
GameUserSettings.iniand locate or create the[PathOfTitans.Mods]section. Add the map’s Mod ID using the file’s existing syntax. - Open
Game.iniand locate or create the[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]section. - Under that section, set the map value to the mod’s exact internal name:
ServerMap=<exact map name>- Save both files, start the server, and watch the first map load.
- If Panjura still loads, recheck the internal name rather than substituting the map’s store title, display name, or a filename.
The Mod ID alone enables the content; the ServerMap entry tells the game session which map to load. Both settings are required for a modded map start.
When creatures or other mods are missing or timing out
Verify every Mod ID
Use the in-game Mod Browser to verify each Mod ID, then add the IDs under [PathOfTitans.Mods] in GameUserSettings.ini. Compare the characters carefully: a zero (0) and the letter O can look similar and produce a completely different or invalid ID.
Keep one authoritative list of the IDs you intend to run. Remove obsolete entries, correct typographical errors, save the file while the server is stopped, and restart before testing. If one required dependency is absent, the visible symptom can be a missing creature, a load timeout, or a session that falls back to the base map.
Check whether the mod is still available
A game update can require the mod author to update the mod. Alderon’s guidance also notes that a mod may have been removed. If the Mod Browser no longer finds an ID, or the content stopped working immediately after an update, configuration changes on your server cannot restore a removed or incompatible package. Wait for a compatible mod release or remove that mod from the server configuration.

Allow time for a clean first load
After correcting IDs or updating content, restart the server and test with a small group. Do not repeatedly interrupt a download or initialization sequence and then interpret the incomplete state as proof that the ID is wrong. If the same mod consistently times out after a clean restart, record the exact ID and version information for escalation.

A correctly configured server can still be incompatible with a player’s device. Alderon’s mod guidance warns that not every mod supports every platform, and that map mods can be too demanding for mobile devices.
- Identify the failing player’s platform.
- Check the mod’s stated platform support in the in-game Mod Browser or the mod’s official listing.
- Test the server with the mod disabled only if doing so is acceptable for the group; a successful unmodded join isolates the compatibility issue.
- For a map mod, treat mobile inability to load as a possible resource or support limitation rather than automatic evidence of bad port forwarding.
Platform support is a property of each mod. One player joining from a desktop does not establish that the same mod is supported on every other platform.

Both routes can host a Community Server, but the first diagnostic boundary differs. With self-hosting, you control the dedicated machine and must verify the operating system, process, local address, router forwarding, and firewall. With a provider, begin with the provider’s service status, panel settings, file access, and network policy before assuming a local router problem.

In either case, the game-specific checks remain the same: server/client patch parity, exact Mod IDs, the two-file map configuration, and platform support. Alderon’s official material does not publish a price, latency, uptime, or performance ranking that would justify choosing one route on those measures alone.
Prepare useful evidence before contacting support
When the basic checks do not resolve the failure, preserve the files before making more edits. The Hosting Wiki specifically asks operators investigating server issues to provide the relevant Game.ini and PathOfTitans.log.
- Stop the server cleanly if possible.
- Copy the current
Game.iniandGameUserSettings.iniwithout altering the originals. - Save the relevant
PathOfTitans.logfrom the failed start or connection attempt. - Write down the server patch, the affected client platforms, the exact symptom, and whether any player can join.
- List every enabled Mod ID and identify the first update or configuration change after which the problem appeared.
- Describe the network path for a self-hosted machine, including whether port forwarding and firewall rules were checked.
Send the unedited configuration and log files through the support channel’s requested method. Redact credentials or unrelated private information, but do not remove the section names, Mod IDs, map value, timestamps, or error lines that explain the failure.
