Patch Connect Plus adds an Admin Tools tab to the Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM) console for on-demand client actions, troubleshooting sessions, and system management operations. ManageEngine’s getting-started guide describes those broad purposes but does not enumerate every action, so check the documentation for your installed version before relying on a specific tool.
What Patch Connect Plus Admin Tools are for
Patch Connect Plus is an add-on for existing SCCM or Intune environments. For SCCM, it publishes third-party applications and patches to the SCCM server; administrators then deploy those items through the SCCM console. Admin Tools serve a different, adjacent purpose: ManageEngine describes them as console-accessible functions for on-demand client actions, troubleshooting, and system management.
The available official setup guide identifies the tab and those categories, but not a complete action-by-action inventory. Treat any specific menu item or capability as version-dependent until you confirm it in the current product documentation or your console.
Which administrative needs the feature set can support
Client actions and troubleshooting
Use the Admin Tools area as the documented starting point when you need an on-demand client action or a troubleshooting session. The guide does not name the individual actions, explain their prerequisites, or specify their effects, so do not assume a particular operation is available or safe for every client. Confirm the current tool description and test consequential actions in a controlled scope.

Third-party patch publishing
Patch Connect Plus can automate publication and deployment of third-party patches through SCCM. ManageEngine also describes importing CVE IDs and publishing corresponding patches; that does not establish that every CVE has a supported patch. Its feature page lists automatic detection of newly added applications for publication to SCCM as well.
ManageEngine’s store page states that the product supports patches for over 800 third-party applications. The page does not date that figure, so it should be read as the vendor’s stated scope rather than a current, independently audited catalog count. Check the live catalog for the applications and updates your environment needs.

Application deployment across management platforms
The feature page says Patch Connect Plus can create applications for SCCM and manage third-party applications for Intune/MEM. These are adjacent application-management workflows, not additional Admin Tools actions. Confirm which management platform and deployment path applies before planning a rollout.

ManageEngine lists deployment templates and pre- and post-deployment scripts for customization, along with deployment reports for Intune and SCCM client machines. Review scripts and templates against your own change controls and test them before broad deployment. The feature description does not specify particular report fields or guarantee a given result.

Update catalogs
The feature page also lists catalog CAB files for SCCM 1806 and above. This is a separate catalog option rather than an Admin Tools function. Verify current compatibility and implementation requirements before using it.
How to find the Admin Tools tab
- Open the SCCM console connected to the environment where Patch Connect Plus is configured.
- Locate the Patch Connect Plus Admin Tools tab in the console. The vendor’s getting-started guide describes Admin Tools as accessible from the SCCM console; it does not provide a more detailed click path in the reviewed setup material.
- Check the current tool descriptions in your installed version before choosing an action. Confirm its target, permissions, expected effect, and any prerequisites.
- Use a limited test scope for actions that can change client state, then validate results using your organization’s normal client monitoring and change-control process.
Setup checks before relying on the tools
ManageEngine’s getting-started guide describes several setup dependencies. Because prerequisites can change by product version and environment, use these as items to verify against current documentation, not universal installation instructions.

- Installation machine: the guide specifies a 64-bit machine.
- WSUS: it calls for a WSUS server or compatible WSUS administration console, and says the system account must belong to the WSUS Administrators group.
- Placement: installation on the primary WSUS machine is described as preferred, but optional.
- Configuration: the guide covers WSUS, certificate, SCCM, scheduler, mail, and site database settings.
- Certificates: it says third-party or self-signed certificates must be imported into the Trusted Publishers and Root Certificate Authority stores on managed computers so updates can be authenticated. Check the current deployment guidance and your organization’s certificate policy before applying this.
