Yes—Panasonic is a credible TV brand, especially for viewers who prioritize accurate, cinematic picture quality, OLED contrast, broad HDR support, and gaming features. But the brand is not a guarantee of a good fit: performance, price, smart-TV software, and availability depend on the exact model and market. The Panasonic Z95B has strong independent test support; newer 2026 models should be judged on their own reviews, not on the flagship’s reputation.
What makes Panasonic TVs worth considering?
Panasonic’s strongest case is picture quality. Independent reviews describe the Z95B OLED as a capable premium TV for dark and bright rooms, with wide viewing angles and modern gaming features. Reviews of the Z90B and W90A also praise natural or authentic-looking images, though each has practical compromises.
That evidence supports a qualified yes, not a brand-wide performance guarantee. It does not establish a Panasonic-wide reliability rate or customer-satisfaction statistic, and it cannot tell you whether a particular set is good value without its local price and direct comparisons.

Z95B OLED: the strongest current premium example
RTINGS identifies the Z95B as Panasonic’s 2025 flagship. Its review describes a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, Fire TV, a built-in 5.1.2 sound system, VRR, and refresh rates up to 4K/144Hz. RTINGS reports strong performance across dark-room, bright-room, viewing-angle, and gaming use, while noting that the set does not pass through DTS audio. RTINGS’ Z95B review records a test-bench update on October 2, 2026.

- HDMI and Bluetooth Connectivity: Four HDMI ports, including an HDMI 2.1 port, provide hassle-free connections. Bluetooth support allows pairing with wireless speakers for enhanced audio and Bluetooth headphones for private listening.
What Hi-Fi? also praises the Z95B’s color and contrast, and lists support for HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision. Its review cautions that picture setup requires care, Fire OS can occasionally lag, and the TV lacks bass depth and low-level dynamics. Its specification table lists 55-, 65-, and 77-inch sizes, four HDMI inputs, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and eARC. These traits make it a strong picture-led premium candidate, not an automatic best-value choice. Read What Hi-Fi?’s Z95B review.
Z90B OLED: a compact option with sound and port tradeoffs
What Hi-Fi? recommends the 48-inch Z90B for movie fans seeking a smaller OLED. Its guide lists 42-, 48-, 55-, 65-, and 77-inch sizes and support for HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision. The review praises its authentic picture and app selection, but notes occasional loss of shadow detail, middling upscaling, and basic sound with limited directionality and low-end heft. If immersive movie audio matters, factor an HDMI eARC soundbar into the budget.

There are four HDMI ports, two of them HDMI 2.1, but one HDMI 2.1 input also serves as eARC. Check whether that allocation works with your console, other devices, and audio setup. What Hi-Fi?’s Z90B guide gives the model-specific details.

W90A LED: natural color, with brightness and shadow-detail compromises
What Hi-Fi? describes the W90A as a 4K full-array local-dimming LED TV with Fire OS, four HDR formats, two HDMI 2.1 ports, 4K/144Hz capability, VRR, and ALLM. The review likes its natural color, three-dimensional presentation, and motion. It finds the set less bright and weaker in dark detail than competing Mini-LED TVs, with middling built-in audio. It may suit movie viewers when the price is competitive, but the review’s historical prices are not current price guidance. The review also said the model was not sold in the US or Australia at that time, so check present local availability. See What Hi-Fi?’s W90A review.

How does Panasonic’s 2026 lineup vary by region?
Panasonic’s announced ranges are not identical worldwide. Its August 18, 2026 US announcement names six series: Z95B OLED; W85C QD-Mini LED; W87C lifestyle QLED; W80C and W75C 4K QLED; and S65C compact QLED. Selected US models are advertised with features such as up to 144Hz, HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM, G-SYNC Compatible, and FreeSync Premium. The announcement assigns Fire TV, Google TV, or Roku by model and identifies SKYWORTH USA as Panasonic TV’s authorized US market partner. Those are manufacturer lineup and positioning claims, not independent performance results. Panasonic’s US 2026 lineup announcement has the announced series and platform details.
The European announcement covers OLED, Mini-LED, QLED, 4K LED, and 2K LED models, with sizes from 32 to 86 inches depending on series. It lists selected sets up to 144Hz and platform options including Fire TV, Google TV, Roku, and TiVo. Panasonic says features and platform vary by market and series, so a US model name or software label should not be assumed to apply elsewhere. Panasonic’s European range announcement describes that regional lineup.

- Fire TV Experience: Smart recommendations, watchlists, and it knows how to pick up where you left off. No endless scrolling. Ask Alexa what to watch next.
For a 2026 model, distinguish an announcement or hands-on preview from a completed independent review. What Hi-Fi?’s Z85C/Z86C preview says the set had not been fully tested; the viewing conditions were poor for assessing picture, sound was muted, and pricing had not been provided. It reports two HDMI 2.1 inputs with up to 4K/120Hz, VRR, and ALLM, plus Fire TV in the UK and Google TV internationally, but those early details are not a conclusive performance or value verdict. Read What Hi-Fi?’s Z85C/Z86C preview.
What should you check before choosing a Panasonic TV?
Picture quality for your room
OLED’s contrast and viewing angles can be attractive for movie watching, particularly in a darker room. For a bright room, compare the specific TV’s brightness and reflection handling with independently tested alternatives; the Mini-LED or QLED label alone does not establish real-world performance. The W90A review, for example, found brightness and shadow-detail compromises against some Mini-LED rivals.

HDR and audio compatibility
Check the exact model for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG, and any audio passthrough formats your equipment needs. The Z95B supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, but RTINGS notes that it lacks DTS passthrough. Sound also varies by set: built-in audio may be adequate for everyday viewing but lack the bass or directionality you want for films.
Gaming connections
Confirm the refresh rate, VRR and ALLM support, number of HDMI 2.1 inputs, and whether eARC shares a port you need for another device. High refresh rates and gaming features are model-specific. On the Z90B, for example, one HDMI 2.1 input doubles as eARC; on the Z95B, RTINGS reports two HDMI 2.1 bandwidth inputs and up to 4K/144Hz.
Smart-TV system and apps
Do not assume every Panasonic TV uses the same software. Announced models span Fire TV, Google TV, Roku, and TiVo according to region and series. Confirm the operating system and availability of the apps your household relies on for the exact model sold locally.
Total value and availability
Compare the current local price of the TV with similarly sized, independently tested rivals. Also check warranty and return terms, screen size, and local stock. Old review prices do not establish today’s value, and model availability can differ by country.
Quick Recap
Who is a Panasonic TV best suited to?
- Movie-focused premium buyers: Consider the Z95B if its local price fits and picture quality, HDR support, and gaming flexibility matter most. Weigh its setup, bass, Fire OS, and DTS passthrough limitations.
- Small-room OLED buyers: The Z90B has independent support as a compact movie option, but consider its sound, shadow detail, and HDMI/eARC allocation.
- Budget-conscious buyers: Compare a less expensive or older Panasonic with same-size rivals at current local prices. The W90A review supports a natural-color case but documents brightness and dark-detail tradeoffs.
- Bright-room buyers: Compare the specific Mini-LED or glare-reducing model with independently tested alternatives rather than inferring results from a technology label or announcement.
- Console gamers: Match the exact model’s refresh rate, VRR/ALLM, HDMI 2.1 ports, and eARC layout to your console and audio equipment.
