If Palworld crashes during the Panthalus fight, disconnects a dedicated server’s players, or hangs after the World Tree boss, first check that the game and server are running a build with the relevant Pocketpair fix. The official notes document several distinct bugs and their fixes; they do not establish that every later crash or loading problem has the same cause.
Match the symptom to the official fix
Pocketpair’s patch notes describe separate Panthalus and World Tree issues. Identifying when the problem occurs helps determine whether the announced fix applies.

The Panthalus crash and the all-player disconnect are listed as different dedicated-server problems, not as one universal failure. Likewise, the World Tree terrain-display issue occurred during a specific multiplayer transition, while the loading-screen issue followed the boss fight. Pocketpair’s v1.0.2 patch notes and v1.0.2.101103 notes describe those scopes.
Update the game and dedicated server
- Check the game version. Find the installed Palworld version in the game’s launcher or platform interface and compare it with the relevant update. For the named Panthalus and multiplayer terrain fixes, look for v1.0.2 or a later build; for the post-boss infinite loading fix, look for v1.0.2.101103 or later.
- If you play on a dedicated server, check its build too. A client update alone does not confirm that the server is running a build with the dedicated-server fixes. Ask the server operator to verify its version and update it if needed.
- Restart using the updated builds. Once the game and server are updated, reconnect and retry the same activity to see whether the specific reported behavior remains.
- Confirm platform availability if versions differ. The official announcements establish the fixes, but do not establish that every platform received an update simultaneously. Check the update information for your platform rather than assuming a rollout date.
The v1.0.2 announcement is dated July 28, and the v1.0.2.101103 entry is dated July 30 on Palworld’s official Steam announcements. These are the announcement dates; they do not identify the version installed on your device or server.

If the problem continues
If you are already on a build that includes the matching fix, treat the failure as a separate issue until its details are known. Pocketpair’s notes do not give a universal cause or recommend changing graphics settings, replacing hardware, or altering server settings to resolve these particular bugs.
Collect these details before reporting the issue or asking the server operator for help:
- Your platform and installed game version.
- Whether you were in single-player, a multiplayer session, or a dedicated server; for a server, note its version if available.
- The exact symptom: one client crashing, all players disconnecting, host-side terrain not rendering correctly, or an infinite loading screen after the boss.
- When it happens, including whether the failure starts during the Panthalus battle, on entering The World Tree, or after defeating the World Tree boss.
Those details help distinguish a still-reproducible named bug from a different failure. Pocketpair’s later official notes also list targeted changes for some stuttering in the cutscene when entering The World Tree and for a mismatch between the wave effect and actual damage range of some Panthalus attacks. These are additional addressed behaviors, not evidence that every performance or combat issue has the same fix. See the official Palworld update notes for the listed changes.

Pocketpair’s v1.0.2 notes explicitly list the dedicated-server Panthalus crash and disconnect fixes, as well as the specific World Tree multiplayer terrain-display case. The later v1.0.2.101103 notes narrow the post-boss loading fix to “some cases.” The official notes therefore support checking the matching game and server build first, but do not prove the cause of a failure on an unknown or later build. Pocketpair describes The World Tree as a central part of Palworld’s story and a major challenge in its v1.0 launch notes.
