To beat Blazamut Ryu, treat the level-55 encounter as a timed two-wave damage race: open with Water (Ice is a workable alternative), switch to Ground damage when the boss heals and enters its Electric phase, and rotate prepared Pal groups through the Palbox before they are knocked out. Craft a Blazamut Ryu Slab from four fragments, summon it at an altar in an open raid base, and keep the player attacking whenever a boss attack leaves a safe window.

Blazamut Ryu raid facts at a glance

Encounter detail What to expect
Level and timer Level 55 with a 10-minute raid window.
Standard health Third-party databases list about 512,600 to 512,680 HP. The small difference reflects conflicting database entries, not a confirmed official value.
Ultra health About 1,025,360 HP in the Ultra listing, roughly twice the standard listing.
Opening typing Fire/Dragon.
Late phase After a heal near defeat, Blazamut Ryu changes to an Electric phase. Sources disagree on whether the change occurs at roughly 10% health or at 1 HP, so use the animation and health bar rather than a precise percentage.
Best opening counter Water is the most consistently recommended attacking element; some guides also recommend Ice.
Best late-phase counter Ground damage once the Electric phase begins.
Capture and rewards The boss cannot be captured during the fight. A successful slab raid awards an egg and raid materials; the exact drop table can vary by game version.

The health figures above come from third-party database listings crawled in 2026, not an official Pocketpair stat sheet. Use them to judge the scale of the fight, not as immutable in-game values.

How the Blazamut Ryu raid works

Craft a slab before you start the timer

You need four Blazamut Ryu fragments to craft one Blazamut Ryu Slab. Take the completed slab to a raid altar in a prepared raid base. The timer is attached to the summoned encounter, so crafting, moving Pals, or rearranging equipment after activation wastes the window you need for damage.

Use an open raid base

Choose an arena with room for the boss, your character and multiple Pals to move without getting trapped on walls, workstations or storage. Clear narrow approaches and keep the altar accessible. Good pathing matters because a Pal that spends several seconds running around an object is dealing no damage, and a crowded base can make it harder to see the late-phase attack cue.

Prepare outside the arena

Before interacting with the altar, stock the ammunition, food, healing items, armor and shields you intend to use. Put your opening Water or Ice Pals in an easily reachable Palbox group and place Ground-capable replacements in a second group. The objective is to make every replacement a quick withdrawal rather than a search through an unsorted box.

Build the two-wave elemental plan

Wave one: Water or Ice for Fire/Dragon

Blazamut Ryu opens as Fire/Dragon. Water is the safest common answer because it is the counter most consistently identified for the opening phase. Ice is also cited by some guides, so an Ice team can work when it is stronger or better trained than the Water alternatives available to you.

Azurobe is a frequently cited mounted option: the rider can contribute Water damage while allied Pals attack. Jormuntide is another commonly cited choice when you want a durable Water attacker. These are examples of roles, not a requirement to use a particular roster; prioritize the Water or Ice Pals you can keep alive and deploy repeatedly.

Wave two: Ground for Electric

The late transformation changes the matchup. Once the boss has healed and begins its Electric behavior, withdraw Water Pals that are close to being overwhelmed and send out Pals that deal Ground damage. A Ground-capable reserve is more valuable than a nominally stronger attacker that cannot answer this phase.

Why two waves are safer than one large roster

Raid Pals that are fainted or nearly defeated represent lost damage while they recover or while you wait for another selection. A staged first group and reserve group lets you rotate before a knockout, preserve enough Water or Ice attackers for the opening, and enter the Electric phase with Ground options still available. Keep at least one replacement group ready even if your first six appear to be winning comfortably.

Step-by-step: summoning and fighting Blazamut Ryu

  1. Build or select the arena. Use an open raid base with clear paths from the altar and enough space for Pals to surround the boss without colliding with structures.
  2. Craft the slab. Combine four Blazamut Ryu fragments into a Blazamut Ryu Slab before you approach the altar.
  3. Stage the Palbox. Put Water or Ice attackers in the first group and Ground-capable reserves in the second. Confirm that replacements are available before you summon.
  4. Equip for continuous damage. Load ammunition, food, healing items, armor and shields. The player should contribute damage whenever the boss is not actively forcing a retreat.
  5. Summon only when ready. Place the slab in the altar and start the raid after preparation is complete. Do not spend the timed window sorting inventory or moving Pals.
  6. Open with Water damage. Mount or deploy a Water attacker such as Azurobe, or use your strongest prepared Water group. Ice attackers can fill the same opening role if that is your better-developed counter.
  7. Read attacks instead of standing still. Keep firing between telegraphed boss moves. Move out of clearly signaled attacks, then resume damage; long periods of running away are as harmful to the timer as a fainted Pal.
  8. Rotate before a knockout. When a Pal is badly damaged or repeatedly displaced, return it and send in a replacement. A controlled rotation keeps more total attackers active than allowing several Pals to faint together.
  9. Watch for the final-phase transition. Near defeat, Blazamut Ryu emits a dangerous burst, heals and changes to Electric behavior. Do not wait for an exact 10% or 1 HP trigger; the cited sources conflict, and the visible animation and health-bar change are the reliable cues.
  10. Withdraw the opening counters. Pull Water Pals out as the Electric phase starts, especially those already low on health, and deploy the Ground-oriented reserve immediately.
  11. Finish without a reset. Keep the player attacking from a safe position, rotate Ground Pals before they are knocked out, and avoid unnecessary travel across the base. The remaining health must be removed inside the original raid window.

Managing the transformation and its heal

The heal is the encounter’s most important tactical breakpoint. Damage dealt before it is not a guarantee that the raid is nearly over; you must survive the burst, recognize the new Electric behavior and then apply the correct element. A team that keeps Water Pals active because the boss appears close to defeat can lose its damage advantage exactly when the timer is tight.

Keep the reserve outside the active fight until the transition. This avoids exposing every Pal to the opening phase and gives you a fresh Ground wave for the portion of the battle that determines whether the raid timer expires. If a Ground Pal is already available in the active slot, rotate it in as soon as the animation ends rather than waiting for a full health-bar confirmation.

The exact threshold is intentionally not specified here: one source describes the change at approximately 10% HP, while others list a 1 HP trigger. Those values cannot both be treated as a precise universal rule. The practical instruction is consistent across them—watch for the heal and phase animation.

Standard versus Ultra: what changes

Planning axis Standard listing Ultra listing
Listed health Approximately 512,600–512,680 HP, depending on the third-party database. Approximately 1,025,360 HP.
Element sequence Fire/Dragon opening, then Electric after the late heal. The same phase logic is used for planning, but the larger health pool leaves less room for downtime.
Damage requirement A coordinated Water or Ice opening followed by Ground damage can meet the timer when rotations are clean. Expect substantially higher damage throughput and fewer wasted seconds between Pal swaps.
Replacement demand Carry a reserve wave and rotate endangered Pals. Plan for more replacement Pals because the fight lasts longer at the listed health.
Gear and conditioning Use prepared ammunition, survivability equipment and a trained elemental roster. Use stronger conditioning and gear than you would for standard; a marginal opening team is more likely to run out of active damage before the timer.

The Ultra health value is a third-party listing rather than an official guarantee. Version changes can alter values or drops, so treat the table as preparation guidance and verify the behavior in your current game build.

Timer and damage management

Keep every role active

The raid timer rewards uptime. Your Pals should be attacking, repositioning around the boss or being deliberately rotated—not stuck behind a building, lying fainted or waiting while you search for a replacement. An open base and a pre-sorted Palbox address those avoidable losses.

Let the player add damage safely

Your own attacks matter because the encounter is a fixed-time damage race. Fire between telegraphed attacks, use cover or distance when a move is about to land, and return to offense immediately afterward. Do not trade a preventable knockout for a few seconds of extra firing; a downed player or Pal costs more time than a short defensive movement.

Save the reserve for the breakpoint

Using every strong Pal in the first phase can leave no answer when the boss turns Electric. Keep the Ground group intact unless a replacement is necessary, and avoid swapping Pals simply for small health differences while the opening element is still favorable. The reserve exists to preserve phase coverage as well as total damage.

Recognize a failing attempt early

  • The first Water or Ice group is repeatedly fainting before the heal.
  • Pals spend long stretches pathing around structures instead of attacking.
  • The player is forced into continuous retreat and contributes almost no damage.
  • The Electric phase begins with no healthy Ground-capable replacements.
  • The boss has healed and the remaining health is not falling fast enough to finish inside the original window.

If these signs appear, use the remaining time to practice the phase cue and rotation order rather than making unplanned swaps. For the next attempt, improve the arena layout, stage a deeper reserve and enter with the opening and late-phase elements already separated.

Common mistakes and fixes

Summoning before the base is ready

Problem: You start the timer while crafting, moving Pals or clearing furniture.
Fix: Finish construction, equipment, inventory and Palbox staging first; activate the altar last.

Using only one elemental roster

Problem: A Water-only team performs well until the boss becomes Electric.
Fix: Keep a Ground-capable second group ready and switch as soon as the heal and phase animation appear.

Waiting for an exact health percentage

Problem: You continue the opening plan because a guide says the change happens at 10%, or you panic when it appears at a different point.
Fix: Treat the threshold as uncertain and react to the boss’s visible late-phase burst, heal and typing change.

Letting Pals faint in place

Problem: Several attackers go down together, creating a long period with little or no Pal damage.
Fix: Rotate endangered Pals through the Palbox before their health reaches a knockout state.

Building a cramped arena

Problem: Structures interrupt pathing and hide attack telegraphs.
Fix: Move the altar to an open base or select a larger prepared location with clear routes around the boss.

Assuming the boss can be captured

Problem: You spend the encounter trying to use capture items or plan a capture window.
Fix: Treat this as a reward encounter, not a capture encounter. Victory provides the raid rewards instead.

Rewards and what victory means

Blazamut Ryu cannot be captured during combat. Guides report a Huge Dragon Egg and raid materials after a successful slab raid, while the raid index notes that slab raids award an egg and warns that the precise drop table can vary by version. Check the current Palworld raid index if you need the version-specific reward listing.

Because the encounter consumes a slab and a timed attempt, record which Pals survive each phase and which attacks caused the most downtime. That information is more useful for the next summon than trying to force an unverified capture strategy.

Final preparation checklist

  • Four Blazamut Ryu fragments have been crafted into a slab.
  • The altar is in an open base with clear Pal pathing.
  • Ammunition, food, healing items, armor and shields are equipped before summoning.
  • Water or Ice attackers are staged for the Fire/Dragon opening.
  • Ground-capable replacements are staged separately for the Electric phase.
  • The player knows the heal-and-burst animation that signals the transition.
  • Endangered Pals will be rotated before they faint.
  • The player will keep attacking during safe windows instead of waiting for Pals to do all the work.
  • No capture attempt is planned; the objective is the egg and raid materials.
