There is no single best Pal in Palworld 1.0. The right choice depends on whether you need boss damage, reliable base production, fast air travel, or an affordable partner you can unlock now. Jetragon is the strongest documented all-round reference for late-game combat and flying travel, while Venusa and Oserk illustrate why work Pals should be chosen by job rather than by combat reputation.
This guide uses the balance and work-system changes that launched with Palworld 1.0 on July 10, 2026. Every table is labeled for 1.0 because older lists can be misleading: Pocketpair rebalanced Pal statistics, abilities, and work values, expanded work suitability to level 10, and added Awakening and Mutation systems. Treat the tiers as role-specific recommendations, not a universal score.

How to read this Palworld 1.0 tier list
A tier is meaningful only after the activity is defined. An S-tier combat Pal may be a poor transporter, and a superb worker may not belong in a fighting party. The lists below therefore use separate standards.
- Combat: damage profile, survivability, Partner Skill, element or matchup value, availability, and the investment needed to awaken, mutate, rank up, or otherwise build the Pal.
- Base work: suitability level, practical throughput, specialization, the amount of useful work covered, downtime, and training cost.
- Mounts: flying or ground role, sprint speed, stamina, handling, unlock timing, terrain fit, and whether the Partner Skill adds combat or gathering utility.
S tier means exceptional for the named activity. A tier means a strong practical choice with a meaningful trade-off. A lower tier does not mean a Pal is weak; it may simply be less suitable for that particular job. The available 1.0 evidence documents only a small number of individual Pal entries, so an unlisted Pal should not be interpreted as automatically inferior.

What changed in Palworld 1.0
Pre-1.0 rankings are not automatically current. Pocketpair describes 1.0 as adding new ways to strengthen Pals through Awakening and Mutation, rebalancing stats and abilities for all Pals, and overhauling systems including base building and multiplayer. Work Suitability now reaches level 10, all Pal work values were rebalanced, and ranking up can raise a work-suitability level.
Those changes affect how a tier should be used. A Pal that was previously valued for a particular attack may now have a different damage or survivability profile. Likewise, a worker’s printed suitability number is not a timeless statistic: it belongs to the 1.0 ruleset and can change again in a later revision. The launch date was July 10, 2026; the combat guide cited here also identifies a 1.0.3 saddle change, and a separate computed ranking is labeled 1.0.5.

Combat tiers answer a narrower question than “which Pal is strongest?” They estimate how well a Pal performs in the activity named in the final column, while accounting for build investment and access. A raid specialist, a PvP counter, and a general-purpose adventuring partner should not receive the same score.

| Tier | Pal | Element | Role | Damage or skill profile | Survivability | Partner Skill | Access and investment | Best activity |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Jetragon | Not stated in the cited 1.0 material | General-purpose endgame fighter and flying-mount reference | Named by the current 1.0 combat guide as a default top combat Pal; exact damage figures are not stated | Strong enough to serve as a combat reference, but the evidence does not provide a numeric durability comparison | Combat-relevant utility; inspect the current in-game description before committing resources | Late-game access; its saddle unlock moved to level 70 in version 1.0.3, so the mount and combat investment are substantial | Endgame exploration, bosses, and players who want one high-investment Pal to do several jobs |
| A | Element or activity specialists | Varies | Raid, boss, PvP, or matchup-specific pick | Can outperform a generalist when its element, skill set, or Partner Skill directly answers the target encounter | Depends on matchup and build; no complete 1.0 roster comparison is established here | Evaluate the skill against the encounter rather than treating rarity as a score | Availability and training cost vary | Specific bosses, raids, PvP situations, or elemental counters |
| B | Accessible early or mid-game fighters | Varies | Progression and replacement partner | Useful while your roster and equipment are developing, but not documented as a universal endgame leader | Often valuable because replacing or reviving one is less costly | Choose for the immediate encounter and the resources you can spare | Lower access barrier than late-game choices; exact names and values are not stated in the cited material | Early exploration, routine captures, and filling a party before specialist unlocks |
Why Jetragon is the default combat reference
Jetragon is the clearest documented S-tier recommendation because current 1.0 coverage names it as a default top combat Pal and also treats it as a leading flying mount. That combination matters: one investment can cover travel and serious fighting instead of forcing you to raise two separate late-game Pals.
It is not an unconditional answer. The saddle unlock moved to level 70 in version 1.0.3, so a player below that level cannot use its mount immediately. A boss with a damaging elemental counter, a build that lacks the resources for high-end training, or a party that needs a dedicated specialist can all justify another choice. “Best” here means the strongest documented general-purpose recommendation, not guaranteed victory in every matchup.
When an element specialist should replace a generalist
Use a specialist when the encounter rewards a particular element, Partner Skill, or attack pattern strongly enough to outweigh Jetragon’s flexibility. Check four things before changing your party:

- 【LED backlight mouse pad】:Blade Hawks RGB mouse pad provides 7 static modes and 7 dynamic modes will give you the options you are looking for. Power-off memory function remembers the last lighting mode you selected. The super glow fiber Chroma will give you a colorful gaming setup that you want.
- 【Anti-slip rubber base】:Made from Natural rubber, this gaming mousepad will firmly grip your desktop, allowing you to enjoy the ultimate precision in the games you are most passionate about. It also comes with a texture that enhances this ability even further.
- 【Smooth and waterproof surface】: Micro-textured cloth surface, for extremely precise mouse control and a smooth movement. When liquid splashes on the gaming mouse pad, it forms water droplets and slides down. Will not delay your work or gameplay.
- 【Plug and play】: This mouse and keyboard pad is powered by USB, plug and play, no driver required. One button control light modes. Press one time to change the lighting mode, press twice to change the brightness, press and hold about 3 seconds turn ON/OFF.
- Identify the target’s element and the damage type your party can reliably deliver.
- Compare the specialist’s survivability in that encounter, not only its theoretical damage.
- Read the current Partner Skill text and confirm that it works with your weapon, mount state, or party plan.
- Estimate the cost of raising, ranking, awakening, or mutating the replacement instead of comparing untrained Pals.
Formula-based rankings can help cross-check a decision. PalToolkit’s published 1.0.5 list is useful because it calculates a ranking rather than collecting a popularity vote, but a formula still cannot know your access level, matchup, or investment budget.
Base-work tier list: choose the job first
Work Suitability now runs to level 10 in 1.0. That makes the number beside a job more important, but it does not make a high number a universal ranking. A specialist that stays on one production line may deliver more value than a flexible Pal that repeatedly walks between unrelated tasks. Conversely, a small base may benefit more from one Pal covering several jobs than from several narrow specialists.
| Tier | Pal | Job and suitability | Specialization or multi-role value | Access | Ranking-up consideration | Best base assignment |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Oserk | Electricity 8; Handiwork 3; Transporting 4 | Documented as an electricity specialist with useful secondary coverage | Location and unlock details are not stated in the cited 1.0 example | Ranking up can raise a work-suitability level under the 1.0 system; weigh that training cost against the value of electricity output | Keep assigned primarily to electricity generation or electrical production, using the secondary jobs only when the base is idle |
| S | Venusa | Gathering 6; Handiwork 6; Medicine Production 5; Transporting 2 | High-value multi-role worker for gathering, handiwork, and medicine production | Location and unlock details are not stated in the cited 1.0 example | Ranking up may improve a suitability level; prioritize the job that bottlenecks your base before spending resources | Assign to the production line that is currently limiting output; avoid Transporting if a dedicated carrier is available |
| A | Single-job specialists | Varies by job; exact entries are not stated | Potentially better throughput than a flexible worker when kept on one station | Depends on the Pal and the job | Compare the cost of obtaining and ranking the specialist with the downtime saved | One continuously busy station such as electricity, cooling, mining, logging, or medicine production |
| A | Flexible general workers | Several moderate suitability values | Reduces the number of Pals needed in a small or changing base | Usually chosen for convenience and access; exact entries are not stated | Rank up only after confirming that its secondary jobs are actually used | Compact bases where switching between handiwork, transport, and production is more valuable than peak output |
How to use Venusa’s documented values
The 1.0 example lists Venusa at Gathering 6, Handiwork 6, Medicine Production 5, and Transporting 2. That profile supports a flexible production assignment: it can gather materials, craft, and make medicine without being replaced every time the queue changes. Its Transporting 2 is comparatively modest within its own profile, so assigning it permanently to hauling can waste the value of its higher-rated jobs.

Start by watching the base for several minutes. If crafting queues are blocked, use Venusa on Handiwork. If ingredients are the bottleneck, switch it to Gathering. If medicine production is the priority, reserve the Pal for that station. This is a role decision, not evidence that Venusa is the best worker for every job in the game.
How to use Oserk’s documented values
Oserk is listed with Electricity 8, Handiwork 3, and Transporting 4. Electricity is therefore the clear assignment: place Oserk where electrical output is needed and prevent lower-value tasks from pulling it away. Handiwork and Transporting are useful fallback coverage, but they should not override an active electricity bottleneck.
Because 1.0 allows ranking to raise work-suitability level, an Oserk that is already doing the job you need may be a better training target than a newly captured Pal with a slightly different profile. Calculate the practical benefit from the station’s queue and downtime; the cited material does not establish hourly production rates, so do not treat a suitability number as a guaranteed items-per-hour figure.

Work assignments that avoid common downtime
- Give a specialist one clear station whenever that station is continuously busy.
- Use flexible workers for jobs that alternate throughout the day rather than permanently assigning them to low-value transport.
- Watch for walking, eating, resting, and pathing interruptions. A theoretical level advantage is worthless if the Pal spends most of its shift away from the station.
- After ranking up, recheck the suitability level and the actual queue before changing the assignment.
- Keep combat Pals out of the base when you need their party abilities; a work Pal does not need to be a fighter to be valuable.
Mount tier list: flying and ground travel are different decisions
Mount speed is only one part of travel time. Sprint speed, stamina, turning, unlock level, terrain, and combat utility can matter more than a peak figure on a flat route. Flying and ground mounts should therefore be ranked separately. A fast flyer may be inefficient for short trips through a cramped base area, while a ground mount can handle terrain or stamina demands better.
Recommended Free Tools
| Tier | Pal | Speed and stamina | Handling | Unlock timing | Terrain fit | Combat or gathering utility | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Jetragon | Described in current 1.0 coverage as a leading flying mount; exact sprint and stamina figures are not stated | Evaluate turning and stamina on your route rather than assuming peak speed solves every trip | Saddle unlock moved to level 70 in version 1.0.3 | Best suited to players who can access the late-game saddle and want fast aerial travel | Also a strong combat reference, allowing one high-investment Pal to cover both roles | Late-game cross-map travel, exploration, and a combat-ready mount |
| A | Other flying mounts | Exact 1.0 comparisons are not stated in the cited material | Choose for handling and stamina if your route includes frequent turns or long flights | Earlier access can outweigh lower peak speed | Match the mount to the route and the saddle level you can currently reach | Prefer a Partner Skill that supports your current combat or gathering plan | Progression travel before Jetragon, or routes where control matters more than maximum speed |
| Tier | Pal | Speed | Stamina | Handling | Unlock timing | Terrain fit | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| To be determined by route | Ground-mount roster | Individual 1.0 values are not stated in the cited material | Compare actual stamina on your travel loop | Prioritize turning and control in narrow or uneven areas | Earlier saddle access can be more useful than a late-game peak-speed option | Ground travel may be preferable where flying is awkward or unnecessary | Select the accessible Pal that completes your route with the least stamina and handling friction |
The separate ground table is deliberate: no named ground Pal, speed value, or stamina comparison is established by the supplied 1.0 evidence. A responsible tier list should not invent a “fastest” ground mount. Test the mounts you can actually unlock on the route you use, and record travel time, stamina recovery, turning, and terrain interruptions.
Is Jetragon still the best mount after 1.0?
For flying, Jetragon remains a leading 1.0 recommendation in the cited coverage and is the safest documented answer to the question. It is not automatically the best mount for every player. The level-70 saddle requirement delays access, and a lower-level mount with better availability, stamina for your route, or easier handling can produce more useful travel immediately.
Use Jetragon when you have reached the required saddle level, can support the investment, and value both aerial speed and combat capability. Use an earlier-access flyer when waiting for Jetragon would slow progression, and choose a ground mount when the route favors control, short hops, or terrain-specific travel.
Should combat and work use different Pals?
Usually, yes. Separating roles prevents a production station from losing its worker when you leave the base and prevents your fighting party from being weakened by assigning a combat Pal to routine hauling. The exception is a small or early base where one flexible Pal saves capture and training resources.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsQuick Recap
Use separate Pals when
- Your base has a continuously busy specialist station.
- You frequently travel, fight, or capture while the base is producing items.
- You have invested in awakening, mutation, ranking, or breeding and do not want travel risk to interrupt production.
- A combat Pal’s Partner Skill is valuable in the field but irrelevant to the base.
Share a Pal when
- You are still progressing toward late-game access.
- The base has intermittent queues and no station is consistently starved.
- A flexible worker such as the documented Venusa profile covers several jobs that would otherwise require multiple Pals.
- You understand the opportunity cost of removing the Pal from its current assignment.
A practical 1.0 selection checklist
- Name the activity. Decide whether the immediate problem is a boss, a production queue, a long flight, or a terrain-heavy route.
- Set the access limit. Record your level, saddle unlock, capture options, and available training materials.
- Compare like with like. For combat, compare damage, survivability, Partner Skill, matchup, and investment. For work, compare suitability, throughput, downtime, and training cost. For mounts, compare flying or ground role, speed, stamina, handling, timing, and terrain.
- Check the 1.0 tooltip. Rebalanced abilities and work values mean an old guide or memory is not a substitute for the current in-game description.
- Invest after testing. Trial the Pal on the actual encounter, station, or route before spending scarce resources on ranking, Awakening, or Mutation.
- Recheck after patches. Label your own notes with the game version. A future balance update can invalidate a 1.0 tier without making the underlying Pal unusable.
Bottom line by role
- Best documented general combat pick: Jetragon, provided you can meet its late-game access and investment requirements.
- Best documented electricity worker: Oserk, listed at Electricity 8 in the cited 1.0 example.
- Best documented flexible production worker: Venusa, whose Gathering 6, Handiwork 6, and Medicine Production 5 profile covers several common bottlenecks.
- Best documented flying mount: Jetragon remains a leading 1.0 recommendation, but earlier access, stamina, handling, and route design can make another mount better for you.
- Best overall strategy: build separate combat, work, and travel priorities instead of forcing every Pal into one universal ranking.
