To connect Galaxy Buds to a Samsung Galaxy phone, use Galaxy Wearable on supported setups or Bluetooth Quick Pair if the phone runs One UI 8.0. For a tablet, TV, PC, or other Bluetooth device, pair the buds from that device’s Bluetooth settings. Pairing gets the audio connection working; Samsung’s Auto switch is a separate feature with additional device, software, and account requirements.
Connect Galaxy Buds to a Samsung Galaxy phone
The exact screens depend on the Buds generation, Galaxy model, and software. Follow the instructions shown on your devices if a button or label differs.
Galaxy Wearable setup
Samsung documents this setup for Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro with the Galaxy S25 and Z Fold6. The app may ask for permissions or offer additional setup options.
- Place both earbuds in their charging case and open the lid.
- Open Galaxy Wearable. Tap Start if prompted and allow requested permissions.
- Choose your earbuds under Available devices.
- Tap Pair and complete the on-screen setup. Depending on the device or setup state, the prompt may say Continue, Start, or Add.

Bluetooth Quick Pair on One UI 8.0
Samsung says Galaxy devices running One UI 8.0 can pair nearby Galaxy Buds through a Bluetooth Quick Pair pop-up without using Galaxy Wearable for the pairing step. Open the case near the phone and follow the pop-up. If it does not appear, Samsung advises using the case’s connect button when that Buds model has one; not all cases have the same controls. Pair with a Galaxy tablet, TV, PC, or other device
When Galaxy Wearable is unavailable or the destination is a TV or computer, use the destination device’s Bluetooth settings. The host must support Bluetooth audio. Menu names and pairing-mode controls vary by its software and by Buds model.

- Turn on Bluetooth in the destination device’s settings.
- Put the earbuds into pairing mode using the instructions for your specific Buds model. Depending on the model, this may involve opening the case or using a case button or touch control.
- On the destination device, open the list of available Bluetooth devices and select the Galaxy Buds.
- Accept any pairing prompt shown on either device.
Samsung lists Windows PCs, TVs, and iOS devices among the possible connection targets, while noting that the available menus and connection capabilities depend on the device and software. Its guide to connecting Galaxy Buds to other devices covers the manual Bluetooth route. Samsung also says Buds2 can connect through Bluetooth settings on devices without Galaxy Wearable, including TVs and smart watches; see its Buds2 feature and troubleshooting guide.
Pairing and Auto switch are different
Pairing connects the earbuds to a host. Auto switch is a separate convenience feature that can move the connection among compatible Samsung devices; successful Bluetooth pairing alone does not enable or guarantee it.

Samsung’s US guidance lists Galaxy Buds3, Buds3 Pro, Buds+, Buds2, Buds2 Pro, and Buds Pro as supported models for Auto switch. For phone and tablet use, it specifies compatible Galaxy devices running One UI 3.1 or later and signed into the same Samsung account. Samsung TVs from 2022 onward are also listed as supported, though requirements can depend on the particular model and feature. Check Samsung’s Auto switch compatibility and requirements before relying on it.
On the Galaxy S25, Samsung describes the setting path as Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > [your Buds] settings, then enable Auto switch. Labels can differ by device or software version. If Auto switch is unavailable, switch manually using Galaxy Wearable on supported setups or the host’s Bluetooth or media-device controls.

Fix common connection problems
- The earbuds do not appear: Check that Bluetooth is on, the buds are charged, and they are in pairing mode. Use the model-specific instructions rather than assuming every case has the same button or pairing procedure.
- The buds were paired before: Select them from the destination device’s saved Bluetooth devices. If another device is currently using them, disconnect there before trying again.
- The earbuds have little or no charge: Samsung’s Buds2 guidance says to charge depleted earbuds in the case for at least 30 minutes or until the case LED is green. This is Buds2-specific guidance; check the instructions for other generations.
- Only one earbud connects: Samsung recommends syncing the earbuds to each other. The reset or sync procedure varies by model, so use the instructions for your exact Buds generation.
Samsung’s S25 guide lists Buds3, Buds3 Pro, Buds FE, Buds2 Pro, Buds2, Buds Pro, Buds Live, Buds+, and Galaxy Buds as compatible with the S25 series. That is an S25-specific compatibility list, not a universal guarantee for every Galaxy phone or every feature.
