Yes: an unofficial native PC port of P.T., the 2014 PlayStation 4 teaser, is available. But “free” refers to the port, not a complete copy of the game. What the free PC download includes—and what it does not
This is a fan-made software port, not a new Konami PC release and not a self-contained game download. The port runs the original game content from PS4 files supplied by the player. The project says its repository and installer contain none of that content. In practical terms, downloading the port alone is not enough to play.

A store PKG is not usable directly: the README says it is encrypted for the console that owns it and describes using a game dump folder or a fake PKG made from a dump instead. The project does not provide the game files.

What you need to run it
The project README lists these operating-system and graphics requirements. They describe the project’s stated requirements, not a guarantee that every system meeting them will perform identically.
- Windows: Windows 10 or 11, with Vulkan 1.3 support.
- Linux: x86-64 Linux with glibc 2.38 or newer and Vulkan 1.3 support.
- macOS: macOS 14 or newer. The port supplies MoltenVK for its Vulkan layer, but the macOS packages discussed alongside the upcoming 1.0.2 changes were not published downloads as of October 9, 2026.
- Game data: files from your own PS4 copy, prepared in a form the installer can use; a store PKG alone will not work.
Because release contents may change, check the project’s current Releases page rather than relying on an old download link or mirror. The README identified Windows and Linux installers in the published 1.0.1 release when checked on October 9, 2026.

Controls, microphone, and VR
Keyboard, mouse, and controllers
Basic play supports keyboard and mouse, so a gamepad is optional. The project README says it supports any gamepad. One interaction uses a microphone, as it does on PS4; the port offers a configurable keyboard substitute.
VR is experimental
The project lists OpenXR VR support, but the maintainer says it has only been run against a simulated runtime and that they do not have a headset. That is not evidence of reliable operation on a physical VR headset, so treat VR as experimental rather than a reason to buy equipment for this port.

How this differs from earlier P.T. recreations
“P.T. on PC” can refer either to this native port or to separate fan recreations and remakes. They are not the same project. The native port uses original PS4 game files; a recreation is a separate work. The available information does not establish a reliable head-to-head comparison of recreation fidelity, operating-system support, or setup requirements, so claims that one is better or more complete would go beyond what is established.

GamesRadar reported on October 7, 2026, that Hideo Kojima reposted coverage of the port. That report does not establish that he, Konami, or Kojima Productions endorses or supports the project.

GamesRadar also reported that Konami delisted P.T. in 2015. That history helps explain why a port using a player’s existing PS4 files has attracted attention, but it does not change what the PC project supplies.

Licensing and what the project’s disclaimer does—and does not—mean
The project says its code is MIT licensed and that third-party components retain their own licenses. That applies to the software and its dependencies, not to the original game data. The project’s statement that it distributes no Konami assets is not a legal ruling about an individual’s copy, backup, or method of obtaining files. The available information does not establish the legality of a particular person’s circumstances.

The README also discloses the use of AI coding tools during development and debugging. That is a development disclosure; it does not mean the port was simply generated by AI.
