Yes, you can now play the 2014 P.T. teaser on PC through an unofficial fan-made port, but it does not include the game itself. You need your own compatible PS4 game files, plus a PC that meets the project’s stated platform and graphics requirements. The project describes itself as a native port, not an emulator or remake.
What the P.T. PC port is—and what it is not
The pt-pc project rebuilds the game logic in C++ and uses Vulkan for rendering. At runtime, it reads levels, models, textures, sounds, scripts, and cutscenes from the player’s own PS4 game files. The maintainer says the playable experience runs from the opening through the street, including the voice-related sequence. These are descriptions from the project, not independently verified test results.

That makes this different from a fan recreation built in another engine: the project says it runs rebuilt original game logic and uses the original game data supplied by the player. It is not an official release from Konami or Kojima Productions. The repository says it contains none of their assets and is not affiliated with or endorsed by either company.
Do you need your own copy of P.T.?
Yes. The installer and project do not supply P.T.’s game data. The README says the port was built and tested with the US release, CUSA01127, provided either as a dump folder or as a fake PKG made from that dump. European and Japanese releases are said to install with a note, but the maintainer says they have not personally seen those versions’ data.
#1 Best Overall
- Fully Remade to terrify modern audiences
- KONAMI's intense psychological horror masterpiece SILENT HILL 2 is made exclusively for PlayStation 5
- The main protagonist James Sunderland searches for clues in the namesake town, after receiving a mysterious letter from his wife Mary… who has long been dead
- Experience the eerie monsters and other manifestations of James' consciousness reworked after 20 years
- Made with state-of-the-art technology to play on modern entertainment systems in 4K
A store PKG cannot be used directly: it is encrypted for the console that owns it, and the port does not decrypt it. The installer accepts a dump folder or fake PKG and copies the three archives it needs. If you use a portable download, the project says to extract it into a folder. The port itself does not provide a way to obtain or decrypt game files.
Supported computers and graphics requirements
The README lists these supported operating systems and architectures. Requirements and platform status are maintainer claims and may change between releases.
Rank #2
- Experienced entirely in first person, explore, evade, and survive using a limited set of weapons and tools, including a pocket television used to tune into unstable signals. Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic, while narrative driven puzzles reveal a truth that refuses to stay submerged.
- SILENT HILL: Townfall is a full-length, self-contained psychological horror set against the cold, isolated backdrop of Scotland, 1996
| Platform | Documented support | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 10 or 11, x64 | Vulkan 1.3-capable GPU and driver required. |
| Linux | x86-64 with glibc 2.38 or newer | Vulkan 1.3-capable GPU and driver required. |
| macOS | macOS 14 or newer, Apple silicon or Intel | Intel Macs need a compatible MoltenVK GPU. The README notes the Intel Mac build had not been run on an Intel Mac. |
Vulkan 1.3 is the stated baseline graphics requirement. Optional visual features have additional requirements: ray-traced shadows, ambient occlusion, and reflections need Vulkan ray queries; DLSS requires a GeForce RTX card; and FSR and XeSS are available on recent GPUs on Windows. Those features are not listed as prerequisites for playing.

Controls, gamepads, and the microphone sequence
Mouse and keyboard controls, including WASD, are supported. Gamepads are optional; the README says any gamepad works, with button prompts changing to match the last-used input device. A controller is not required to play.
Rank #3
- Experience the two classic Silent Hill titles previously released on PlayStation 2, Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams & Silent Hill 3, that defined the Survival Horror genre in its early inception
- Both titles re-mastered to HD at 720p for improved graphics on PlayStation 3
- Completely updated in-game voiceover directed by series vocalist Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and soundtrack score enhancing the storytelling and ambient music within each re-mastered game
- Full PlayStation Network Trophies support integration
A microphone is used for one sequence, but the project documents a keyboard or controller-trigger alternative. You therefore do not need a microphone to get through that sequence.

PC Gamer reported on October 8, 2026, that the project had been made public that week and quoted creator Lorean Xavier as saying development had been underway since 2024. The report describes P.T. as a 2014 PlayStation Network playable teaser for Silent Hills, delisted in early 2015. The project README also identifies it as a 2014 PS4 teaser. PC Gamer’s report provides that publication timeline.
Rank #4
- Enter the next chapter of Silent Hill and learn the town history
- first silent hill game on PS3
- All new next gen graphics bring silent hill to life like never before
- solve treacherous and deadly puzzles to learn dark secrets
- features an all new soundtrack by acclaimed series composer Akira Yamaoka
GamesRadar reported that Hideo Kojima acknowledged the fan port on social media. An acknowledgment is not evidence that Konami or Kojima Productions published, licensed, or endorsed it. GamesRadar also quoted P.T. dataminer Lance McDonald praising the port’s fidelity; that is McDonald’s assessment, not an independent test result. GamesRadar’s report covers both the acknowledgment and McDonald’s comments.
Quick Recap
Before you download
- Check the current project README and releases for the latest requirements, downloads, and compatibility notes.
- Confirm that your computer’s operating system, architecture, GPU, and driver meet the maintainer’s stated requirements.
- Make sure you have your own game data in a format the installer accepts; a store PKG alone is not sufficient.
- Decide whether you want to use mouse and keyboard or an optional gamepad. A microphone is not essential because an alternative input is documented.
