Overwatch’s Unvaulted Battle Pass lets you buy or resume certain older Battle Passes, but it does not restore every original reward. As of Blizzard’s October 6, 2026 patch notes, Legacy Seasons 1–15 are available in the shop’s Unvaulted Battle Pass tab. To earn progress, you must own and activate a pass from the Legacy Pass Menu.
What an Unvaulted Battle Pass is
An Unvaulted Battle Pass is an eligible older pass that you can purchase and progress after its original season has ended. Blizzard’s live patch notes dated October 6, 2026 list Legacy Seasons 1–15 as available to buy in the shop’s Unvaulted Battle Pass tab. That is the currently available lineup; Blizzard says additional locked passes will arrive in later seasons, but has not specified their arrival dates or which seasons they will include.
If you bought an eligible pass previously, you can activate it and continue earning progress. Progress you earned while that pass originally ran carries over.

How to activate and progress an old pass
- Open the in-game shop and select the Unvaulted Battle Pass tab to review the currently available passes and their prices.
- Buy a pass if you do not already own it, or select an eligible pass you previously purchased.
- Open the Legacy Pass Menu and activate the pass you want to progress.
- Play to earn XP toward the active Unvaulted Pass.
Owning a pass by itself is not enough for it to earn XP: you must activate it from the Legacy Pass Menu. You can have only one Unvaulted Pass active at a time. That pass can progress alongside the current season’s Battle Pass, so you do not have to choose between earning progress on the legacy pass and the current one.

Which rewards are excluded?
An Unvaulted pass is not a full replay of its original reward track. Blizzard’s patch notes list the following categories as unavailable in Unvaulted passes:
- Mythic skins, including Mythic Hero and Weapon Skins
- Mythic Prisms
- Overwatch Coins
- XP Boosts
- Player Titles, including Prestige Titles
These exclusions mean that an old pass may not deliver the same set of rewards it offered during its original season. Blizzard identifies the categories above as excluded; do not assume that every other original reward necessarily returns unchanged.

How Unvaulted passes differ from the revamped current pass
Blizzard describes the revamped current seasonal Battle Pass as an 80-tier pass divided into shorter tracks that players can choose to complete in their preferred order. Premium owners also receive one Tier Hack per pass, which can replace an eligible end-of-track skin with a curated past Legendary skin.
Those are mechanics Blizzard describes for the revamped seasonal pass. The available official information does not establish that every Unvaulted legacy pass uses the same tracks or includes a Tier Hack, so treat the systems as related but distinct.

Does an Unvaulted pass stay available?
Blizzard says an eligible Unvaulted Pass you acquire—or already own—stays permanently available. That lets you return to it rather than having to finish it during a limited window. The currently purchasable range is Legacy Seasons 1–15; Blizzard says more locked passes will come in later seasons, without naming a schedule in the October 6 notes.

Blizzard’s October 6, 2026 patch notes confirm that eligible passes are available to purchase but do not state a price. Check the in-game Unvaulted Battle Pass tab for the current price before buying; do not rely on a price from an earlier season or assume the old and current passes cost the same.
