Orisuji is a turn-based maze puzzle designed for the iPhone Duo’s hinge. You move a paper crane through a maze on the unfolded phone, then physically fold the device so a second, hole-punched page overlays it. The fold changes which paths connect and can flatten characters beneath the page, making the hinge part of the puzzle rather than a visual gimmick. FoldHunt reports a launch on October 23, 2026, for $4.99 with no ads or in-app purchases.
What Orisuji is
Developer Adrien Friggeri describes Orisuji as a “turn-based paper maze” designed specifically for iPhone Duo. Its presentation imitates a small origami book: the unfolded phone shows two facing pages, with the main maze on the right and a second page containing holes on the left.
The game is turn-based, so movement happens one step at a time rather than under a countdown. That pacing suits the central idea: each move can be planned around the next fold, the next path connection and the position of every character on the paper.

How the folding mechanic works
1. Navigate while the phone is open
On the fully unfolded device, you guide a red paper crane through the maze printed on the right-hand page. The left page is a separate sheet with holes cut into it. At this stage, the two pages do not form one continuous maze.

2. Fold the two pages together
When the phone folds, the left page lays over the maze. Paths on the overlaid pages bridge through the holes, producing a new combined route on the outside cover. A character positioned beneath the moving page can be pinned flat by the fold.
3. Unfold to lift the page
Opening the phone separates the pages again. Anything standing on the lifted sheet is carried with it, so unfolding is another state-changing move rather than a simple return to the previous view. The puzzle therefore asks you to predict where a character will be after the page rises, not merely where it appears before folding.
The developer’s October 15, 2026 explanation confirms that every level uses the two-page arrangement: a maze on the right and a holed page on the left.

The combination of movable characters, keys and changing floors should give the basic fold-and-unfold rule room to develop across the six worlds. The available description does not provide a level-by-level breakdown or identify how the worlds are unlocked.
Release date, price and monetization
FoldHunt lists Orisuji for October 23, 2026, at $4.99. That is a one-time listed price; the same description says there are no advertisements and no in-app purchases. The report does not state whether the price varies by country, whether a separate version supports non-folding devices, or whether the date applies to every App Store region.
What has actually been demonstrated
The strongest public demonstration described so far is simulator footage, not a hands-on test of a shipping build. On October 15, FoldHunt watched a 13-second recording of level “Dawn 9” in the iPhone Duo simulator. In the clip, the crane moves on the open phone, the phone folds, the crane continues across the combined maze on the cover, and unfolding lets it reach the moon.

That means the core open-fold-unfold loop is visibly demonstrated in simulation, while details such as hinge-angle support, touch behavior during a partial fold, performance on retail hardware and accessibility options remain unestablished.

Many foldable-phone games use the hinge as a convenient divider or treat folding as an alternate way to arrange controls. Orisuji makes the hinge a rule in the puzzle itself: folding overlays one physical page on another, creates bridges through holes and changes which characters are trapped or transported. The same level can therefore have a different legal route before and after the device moves.
The concept also depends on physical orientation. On iPhone Duo, the hinge is the fold line. A similar design pattern can be emulated on ordinary phones or tablets with a tap or pinch, but that would reproduce the state change without reproducing the physical act of laying one page over another. Whether Orisuji itself offers such an emulation is not stated in the available listing.

Because the public evidence is simulator-based, treat the October 23 date, final compatibility details and partial-fold behavior as information to confirm when the release listing appears.
