There is no single OriginOS update date or worldwide eligibility list that applies to every vivo phone. Rollouts are phased, timing can vary by market, and the update screen on your exact device is the most direct way to check. vivo introduced OriginOS 7 globally on September 24, 2026, but that announcement does not establish that every older model is eligible or has received it.
When will my vivo phone get the OriginOS update?
There is no supported universal date for a particular phone. vivo said OriginOS 6 would begin rolling out globally in phases in November 2025, with later timing varying across markets. That was the rollout’s announced starting point, not a current delivery promise for every model or region. See vivo Chile’s OriginOS 6 rollout announcement for the phased, market-dependent plan.
For the newer version context, vivo announced the global introduction of OriginOS 7 on September 24, 2026. An announcement of a new operating system does not by itself confirm that a specific older phone is eligible or that its update is available. vivo’s OriginOS 7 announcement is specific to that introduction, not a model-by-model rollout schedule.

Is my vivo model eligible?
Eligibility depends on the exact model and market. The official materials available here do not establish a complete, current global list covering every vivo and iQOO device, so a series name alone is not enough to confirm support.

Check the update page on your phone, then consult vivo support for your country with the exact model name or model number. A vivo Community response describes availability in batches and advises users who do not see an update to check again later; that guidance refers to India and should not be treated as a worldwide schedule. How do I check for an OriginOS update?
- Connect your phone to the internet.
- Open Settings > System update.
- Let the phone check whether an update is available, then follow the on-screen instructions if one is offered.
These steps are from a vivo device manual; menu names and locations can differ by model and software version. If you do not see that exact path, look for the equivalent system-update page in Settings or consult the manual for your device. The manual also documents a smart-update option for automatic Wi-Fi downloading during inactive nighttime hours, but that feature and its menu path are specific to the device and software version covered by that manual.

What should I do before installing?
- Back up important data. The vivo manual recommends backing up before an update but does not prescribe a particular product or method.
- Use Wi-Fi for the download. System updates can be large, and the manual recommends Wi-Fi.
- Install only updates intended for your device. The manual warns that unauthorized system ROMs or updates can present security risks.
Can I install an OriginOS update package manually?
The manual describes a local-update option for an existing system package already stored on the phone. That option is not a general assurance that any package found online is compatible or safe. Use a package or installation procedure only when vivo provides instructions for your exact model and region; do not assume that a package intended for another device or market will work.
