Choose an Orbistats tier only after you have measured your app’s request load and confirmed the limits, data freshness, features, billing currency, and access term that apply to your account. Orbistats’ pricing page and API reference publish different quota figures, and other official pages describe access durations that do not line up with either. Treat the published numbers as unconfirmed until Orbistats verifies your account’s terms.

Why a tier change is more than a quota increase

Moving an integration into production can change several requirements at once: how often data must refresh, how much history the app needs, whether updates should be pushed rather than polled, what support is available, and how the data may be used. A higher request ceiling alone does not establish that a plan meets your operational or licensing needs.

Orbistats’ pricing page lists Free at $0/month, Starter at $19/month, Growth at $79/month, and Enterprise at custom pricing. It describes Free as offering 150 requests per day, delayed live data, and last-season history; Starter as offering 10,000 requests per day and real-time live data; and Growth as offering 100,000 requests per day, a full historical archive, widgets, webhooks, and priority support. Enterprise is described with custom volume, feeds and integrations, dedicated infrastructure, and named support. Confirm the currency and the offer in your account before using these prices to budget.

Those pricing-page quotas do not match the limits in Orbistats’ API reference, which lists monthly and per-minute limits as well as concurrent WebSocket connections:

Tier Pricing-page quota API-reference limits Concurrent WebSockets
Free 150 requests/day 100 requests/minute; 50,000 requests/month 1
Starter 10,000 requests/day 600 requests/minute; 1,000,000 requests/month 5
Growth 100,000 requests/day 3,000 requests/minute; 10,000,000 requests/month 25
Enterprise Custom volume Custom Not stated in the API reference

Do not combine these figures into a single assumed allowance or infer how one limit affects another. Orbistats’ homepage describes Free access as lasting one hour after opening an activation link, Starter as 24 hours, Growth as five days, and an Unlimited option at $1,999/month for 30 days; the sandbox says “Free tier: 150 sandbox calls/day.” These descriptions are inconsistent with one another and with the monthly pricing descriptions. Before calculating capacity or launching, ask Orbistats to confirm in writing the quota, billing currency, access term, and included features for the specific account and plan you will use.

How to decide which tier fits

Start with workload and freshness

Inventory the endpoints and sports your app calls, its average and peak request rates, its update cadence, and how much historical data it needs. Also decide what happens to users if data is stale, delayed, missing, or corrected. A feed described as real-time is not the same thing as a guarantee that every result is complete or final.

Estimate demand using measured production-like traffic, not just the number of users. Repeated polling, simultaneous clients, and peak event activity can all affect request volume. Compare your measurements with the limits Orbistats confirms for your account, including any relevant per-minute, monthly, daily, or connection ceiling.

Match capabilities to the product

  • Free: The pricing page presents delayed live data and last-season history. That may be sufficient for a prototype, but verify the account’s actual quota and access term before relying on it.
  • Starter: The pricing page presents real-time live data as the step up from Free. Confirm that the freshness and request allowance are suitable for your user experience and load.
  • Growth: The pricing page lists a full historical archive, widgets, webhooks, and priority support in addition to a higher stated quota. Check which of these features your application actually needs and confirm availability for your account.
  • Enterprise: The pricing page describes custom volume, feeds and integrations, dedicated infrastructure, and named support. Its terms say a dedicated SLA may be included under a separate agreement; do not assume an SLA exists unless the contract specifies it.

Include operational assurance and data rights

Orbistats’ terms say Free and Starter do not include a specific SLA. They also warn that data can be delayed, corrected, or disputed by official sources, and that customers are responsible for validating its fit for their use case. If an interruption or correction could materially affect your product, establish the support and contractual commitments you need before launch.

Simply activate the device through the app and plug it into any standard wall outlet.
  • Fast Refresh & Free Data Storage - The industrial built-in temperature and humidity sensor takes readings every 10 seconds to make sure the temp/humidity are within the safe range. Every 10 minutes the most recent reading is updated on the online portal. Readings are stored on our servers for 1 year and can be downloaded anytime on a CSV file.

The licensing policy permits displaying data in the account holder’s own app, website, dashboard, or trading system and caching it at an interval appropriate to plan freshness. Raw-data resale, redistribution, or sublicensing requires a separate agreement. Confirm your intended display, caching, and downstream use fit the applicable terms.

A production migration sequence

  1. Document the integration. List endpoints, sports, request patterns, current polling intervals, history requirements, and the impact of stale or missing results.
  2. Measure real traffic. Record request volume and rate-limit responses under realistic load, including peak conditions. Orbistats’ API reference says limits apply per API key and are returned on responses; still confirm the account’s actual limits because official pages differ.
  3. Confirm the commercial terms. Get the applicable plan name, quota definitions, currency, access period, features, and any support or SLA commitments confirmed for your account before selecting a tier.
  4. Configure authentication securely. Orbistats’ API documentation describes account creation, an API key, and Bearer-token authentication. Keep the key in server-side configuration or a secrets manager; do not put it in browser code or a public repository. The documentation says one key authenticates across sports.
  5. Handle limits deliberately. The documentation says exceeding a rate limit returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. When that occurs, respect the indicated delay, use controlled backoff rather than tight retries, and alert on repeated limit hits. Monitor usage against the quota Orbistats confirms for the account.
  6. Choose polling or push updates. Keep polling if its latency and volume meet the product’s needs. If the app needs event-driven updates, the documentation describes Webhooks or WebSocket as alternatives. Account for webhook delivery handling or WebSocket connection limits and reconnection behavior in your design.
  7. Make data timing explicit. Orbistats documents timestamps in ISO 8601 UTC. Convert or display time zones at the application boundary, and design for delayed or corrected sports data rather than treating every response as immutable.
  8. Check licensing and versioning separately. Confirm that display and cache behavior comply with the licensing terms; seek a separate agreement for redistribution or resale. A billing-tier change is not an API-version migration: Orbistats says non-breaking changes ship continuously, while breaking changes are released under a new API version with a migration guide and an overlap window.

Questions to settle before launch

  • What exact quota applies, and is it daily, monthly, per minute, or a combination?
  • What happens when one quota is reached, and how is usage shown or reported?
  • Is the stated price in the billing currency for this account, and what access duration and renewal terms apply?
  • Which freshness level, history, webhooks, widgets, and support commitments are included in writing?
  • Does the contract provide a specific SLA, and what does it cover?
  • Are your caching and display patterns allowed, and do any downstream users or resellers require a separate data agreement?

What happens if you exceed a rate limit?

The API documentation specifies a 429 response with a Retry-After header when a rate limit is exceeded. Use that header to delay retries and investigate whether your traffic pattern or confirmed plan limit needs to change.

Do paid plans have a trial?

The official plan descriptions referenced here do not establish a general paid-plan trial. Confirm trial availability and terms directly with Orbistats rather than assuming one is included.

What does Enterprise include?

The pricing page describes custom volume, feeds and integrations, dedicated infrastructure, and named support. A dedicated SLA may be available under a separate agreement according to the terms; its scope depends on that agreement.

How do you get real-time updates instead of polling?

Orbistats’ documentation identifies Webhooks and WebSocket for event-driven updates. Choose the method that fits the application’s delivery and connection requirements, and confirm the tier’s feature access and connection allowance before implementing it.
