For India buyers, the vivo S2 5G has the larger, sharper display and a slightly higher stated battery capacity; the OPPO Reno16c 5G offers faster listed charging, expandable storage, and dedicated telephoto and ultrawide rear cameras. The vivo Store’s observed 8GB+128GB listings were lower than OPPO’s later published price for the same memory tier, but the prices are snapshots rather than a guaranteed current gap.

Which phone has the better display?
The vivo S2 has the larger and higher-resolution panel: 6.83 inches at 2800 × 1260, compared with the Reno16c’s 6.57 inches at 2372 × 1080. Both list refresh rates up to 120Hz, so the S2’s advantage in the published specifications is size and pixel resolution, not a higher stated refresh-rate ceiling.

- 158.2 x 74.5 x 8.4 mm or 8.6 mm, 194 g or 196 g (6.84 oz)
Which has the more versatile camera hardware?
The Reno16c has the broader rear-camera selection on paper: a main camera, an OIS-equipped 3.5× optical telephoto, and an ultrawide camera. The S2 lists a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary camera. That makes the Reno16c the clearer pick if having dedicated zoom and ultrawide cameras matters; these component specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos.
For front-camera resolution, Reno16c lists 50MP versus the S2’s 32MP. Video claims differ in how they are specified: OPPO lists rear recording up to 4K at 30fps, while vivo states 4K recording for both front and rear cameras. A megapixel count or recording-mode claim does not establish overall image quality.

Battery capacity and charging: what differs?
vivo lists the S2 at 7050mAh typical capacity, 50mAh more than the Reno16c’s 7000mAh typical capacity. OPPO also gives the Reno16c’s rated capacity as 6850mAh. For charging, the Reno16c lists 80W SUPERVOOC and the S2 lists 44W. These figures do not by themselves determine day-to-day battery life or charging time.

The exact supported storage-card format and maximum capacity for the Reno16c are not specified in the cited details.

India price difference: compare the same configuration
OPPO’s India page lists the Reno16c at ₹49,999 for 8GB+128GB, ₹53,999 for 8GB+256GB, and ₹59,999 for 12GB+256GB, with those prices stated as correct on 9 September 2026. The earlier 2 July launch announcement gave lower launch-period prices of ₹46,999, ₹49,999, and ₹55,999 respectively; for the later dated comparison, the September product-page prices are the relevant OPPO snapshot.
On 7 October 2026, vivo Store search listings showed the S2 8GB+128GB at ₹39,999 in Silk White and ₹42,999 in Sapphire Blue. Against OPPO’s ₹49,999 8GB+128GB price, those observations are ₹10,000 and ₹7,000 lower, respectively. This is not a synchronized or guaranteed price gap: the vivo figures are color-specific store observations, while OPPO’s figures come from a dated product page. Check the exact color, RAM/storage configuration, offers, and final checkout price before buying.

- Choose the vivo S2 for the screen: it has the larger, higher-resolution listed display.
- Choose the Reno16c for rear-camera flexibility: it includes dedicated optical telephoto and ultrawide cameras; this is a hardware distinction, not a tested photo-quality verdict.
- Choose based on charging preference: the Reno16c lists 80W charging, while the S2 lists slightly higher typical battery capacity.
- Choose the Reno16c for storage flexibility: it supports a storage card and has a listed 12GB+256GB option.
- Compare prices at checkout: available snapshots favor the S2 at 8GB+128GB, but dates and colors differ.
The listed chipsets are different, but the manufacturer specifications do not establish a performance winner. A reliable speed comparison would require comparable independent testing.
