In India, the OPPO Reno16 5G (model CPH2865) is the camera-focused, higher-priced choice, while the Reno15c offers a larger screen and battery at a substantially lower launch price. This comparison is specifically about Reno16 5G CPH2865—not the distinct Reno16c 5G (CPH2859)—and uses India-market specifications and prices.
OPPO Reno15 C vs OPPO Reno16: specs comparison
OPPO’s published specifications show the main trade-off: the Reno16 5G has a more versatile rear-camera system and a newer listed chipset; the Reno15c has the larger display and battery. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from independent testing.

There is no single winner for every buyer. Choose based on the features you will use: the Reno16 5G’s dedicated telephoto and higher-resolution ultra-wide cameras are the clearest reasons to pay more, while the Reno15c makes more sense if you want a larger screen and the higher published battery capacity.

Choose Reno16 5G for camera flexibility
The Reno16 5G adds a 50MP 3.5x optical telephoto camera with OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide. That is a more varied rear-camera setup than the Reno15c’s 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro. Both phones have a 50MP front camera, but OPPO specifically lists autofocus for the Reno16 5G. These specifications describe hardware and published features; they do not establish which phone takes better-looking photos in practice.
Choose Reno15c for a larger screen and battery capacity
The Reno15c’s 6.57-inch display is larger than the Reno16 5G’s 6.32-inch display. Its listed 7,000mAh battery also exceeds the Reno16 5G’s 6,700mAh typical capacity by 300mAh. That capacity difference alone cannot predict how many extra hours either phone will last; comparable independent battery testing is not provided here. Both list 80W SUPERVOOC charging.

For selfies and creator video, compare the published features
Both models list 50MP front cameras. OPPO describes the Reno15c front camera as ultra-wide with a 100° field of view and says its front and main cameras support 4K HDR recording at up to 60fps. OPPO lists autofocus on the Reno16 5G’s front camera and 4K recording at up to 60fps, as well as 4K HDR. So it would be inaccurate to say that only the Reno16 records at 60fps. The published specifications do not establish comparative image quality.

Consider size, chipset, and durability claims
The Reno16 5G is the more compact option by screen size, and OPPO lists the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 rather than the Reno15c’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. That identifies a chipset difference, not a measured performance result. OPPO publishes IP66/IP68/IP69 ratings for the Reno15c and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K for the Reno16 5G. These are manufacturer-listed ratings, not independent durability test results or a statement about warranty coverage for liquid damage.

What is the price difference in India?
Match the RAM and storage configuration when comparing prices. OPPO’s Reno15c launch announcement listed its 8GB+256GB model at ₹34,999 and 12GB+256GB model at ₹37,999. OPPO’s Reno16 series launch announcement gave lower launch prices than the later Reno16 details page, so the figures should not be combined as though they were one current price list.
| Configuration | Reno15c launch price | Reno16 5G launch price | Gap between launch prices | Reno16 5G price on details page (as of 31 August 2026) | Gap vs Reno15c launch price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8GB+256GB | ₹34,999 | ₹61,999 | ₹27,000 | ₹66,999 | ₹32,000 |
| 12GB+256GB | ₹37,999 | ₹67,999 | ₹30,000 | ₹72,999 | ₹35,000 |
The launch-to-launch gaps are calculated from OPPO’s Reno15c announcement and its Reno16 series launch announcement; OPPO said Reno16 sales would start on 9 July 2026. The later Reno16 prices come from OPPO India’s details page, which says they are inclusive of taxes, correct as of 31 August 2026, and subject to change. Comparing those later Reno16 figures with Reno15c launch prices mixes dates, so the resulting gaps are not a like-for-like current-market quote. Check the live listing price and offers before buying.

Should you pay more for the Reno16 camera?
If you expect to use optical zoom or take wide landscape and group shots, the Reno16 5G’s dedicated 50MP 3.5x telephoto and 50MP ultra-wide give you more rear-camera options on paper. If you mostly use the main and selfie cameras, the specifications alone provide less reason to pay the higher price: both phones list 50MP front cameras, and OPPO lists 4K recording at up to 60fps for both. No independent camera comparison is available here to show how much better one performs in everyday shooting.

Bottom line: which OPPO phone should you buy?
Pick the Reno16 5G (CPH2865) if its telephoto camera, higher-resolution ultra-wide, smaller display, or listed chipset matter enough to justify the higher price. Pick the Reno15c if you prefer a larger screen and higher listed battery capacity and would rather spend less based on the published launch prices. Confirm the current India price for the exact 256GB configuration before deciding.
