There is no confirmed OPPO phone called “Reno X” in the OPPO catalog reviewed. The name may refer to a Reno16 model or to a Find X phone, and those are different product families. Confirm the exact model, country and storage configuration before comparing prices or buying. As a useful size comparison, the market-specific OPPO Reno16 5G is about 72.42 mm wide, while Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is 78.1 mm wide. That difference changes one-handed comfort, pocket fit and screen area, but it does not by itself decide which phone is better.
First, resolve what “Oppo Reno X” means
“Oppo Reno X” is not an established model name in the OPPO catalog reviewed. OPPO’s current catalog separates Reno16 phones from Find X phones; it does not list a standalone Reno X. Treating the phrase as if it were automatically a Reno16 or a Find X would risk comparing the wrong hardware, price and software support.
Before you compare any wide phone, check the name printed on the retailer listing, box or settings screen. A complete identification includes the model family, generation, 5G or regional variant, storage capacity and the country where it will be used. Model codes are especially useful when names vary by market. OPPO identifies the Reno16 5G on its UAE page with model code CPH2865.
- If you meant Reno16: the Reno16 5G is a relatively compact phone with a 6.32-inch display and an approximately 72.42 mm body width on OPPO’s UAE specification page.
- If you meant Find X: identify the exact generation, such as Find X9 Ultra, because its dimensions, cameras, price and availability cannot be inferred from Reno16 specifications.
- If you saw “Reno X” in a listing: ask the seller for the official model code and the market version before paying. A generic or incorrectly translated title is not enough to establish compatibility with cases, chargers, bands or software updates.
The comparison below therefore uses the Reno16 5G as a provisional Reno candidate and the Galaxy S26 Ultra as an example of a genuinely wider, larger-screen phone. It is a size-and-priority framework, not a claim that either is the best choice for every buyer.

Reno16 5G and Galaxy S26 Ultra: the measurable difference
Physical width is the most direct number for judging how a phone feels in your hand. Display diagonal tells you how much screen you get, but it does not tell you how far your thumb must reach or whether the phone fits a pocket. Weight and thickness complete the picture.

The Reno16 5G is about 5.68 mm narrower than the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That sounds small, but width is held directly by your fingers, so the difference is noticeable for one-handed typing, reaching the opposite edge and gripping the phone without shifting your hand. The Samsung is also approximately 12.4 mm taller and 31–32 g heavier than the Reno16 5G, depending on which Reno16 color configuration is used for comparison.
These figures are not interchangeable laboratory measurements. OPPO labels the Reno16 dimensions and weight as approximate and warns that they can vary by configuration and measurement. Samsung’s 6.9-inch figure is a diagonal measurement across the full rectangle; the company states that rounded corners reduce the corresponding diagonal to 6.7 inches and that the camera opening further reduces viewable area. Use the numbers as a guide to size class, not as a promise about the exact feel of every retail unit.
Which phone is easier to hold?
Choose the narrower Reno-style phone for reach and grip
A body around 72.42 mm wide generally asks less of your thumb than a 78.1 mm body. That matters when you reply to messages with one hand, tap controls near the far edge, read while standing on public transport or use the phone without a case. The Reno16 5G’s lower listed weight range of 182–193 g also reduces fatigue during long reading or navigation sessions.
Width is not the only ergonomic variable. A thick protective case can add several millimeters, and a textured or high-friction case can make a wide phone easier to secure even if it remains harder to reach across. Before buying an accessory, confirm whether it is for Reno16 or Reno16 Pro; OPPO’s UK catalog lists a combined “OPPO Reno16/16 Pro Magnetic Protective Case,” but compatibility should still be checked against the exact model.

Accept the wider Samsung when screen area matters more
The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 78.1 mm width and 163.6 mm height create a substantially larger canvas for documents, maps, spreadsheets, video timelines and split-screen work. The 6.9-inch diagonal is not a direct measure of usable rectangular area because of rounded corners and the camera opening, yet it remains a clear indication that this phone belongs to a larger class than the 6.32-inch Reno16 5G.
The trade-off is a 214 g handset before adding a case, plus a taller body that can be harder to balance in one hand. If you frequently use a phone while walking, carry it in a small pocket or have limited hand span, test the width and weight in person rather than deciding from the diagonal alone.

A larger display is useful when the content itself benefits from more pixels or a bigger interface. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s QHD+ panel and adaptive 1–120 Hz range are designed for a large-screen experience, while the Reno16 5G lists 2640 × 1216 resolution and up to 120 Hz. Refresh-rate figures describe how often the display can update; they do not by themselves establish brightness, color accuracy, battery life or outdoor readability.
- Reading and web pages: the wider phone can show more text per line or allow larger text without as much scrolling. The narrower Reno-style body is easier to hold for a long reading session.
- Video and photos: a larger panel makes detail easier to inspect, but the benefit depends on the content’s aspect ratio and the app’s controls.
- Navigation and maps: the extra height and width can show more route context. A compact phone may be less awkward to mount or carry.
- Typing: a wide keyboard may reduce cramped keys for two-thumb typing, while one-thumb typing favors the narrower body.
- Gaming: more screen area can separate touch controls from the play area, but the added weight may be tiring during long sessions.
Do not assume that a 6.9-inch label means 6.9 inches of uninterrupted usable screen. Samsung explicitly distinguishes the full-rectangle diagonal from the rounded-corner measurement and notes that the camera opening reduces the viewable area.
What the Reno16 5G camera specification actually tells you
OPPO lists three 50MP rear cameras on the Reno16 5G: an ultra-wide camera with a 116-degree field of view, a wide camera with optical image stabilization and a telephoto camera with optical image stabilization. It also lists a 50MP front camera. Those are hardware specifications, not independent image-quality results.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

Pixel count alone cannot establish which phone takes better photographs. Image quality also depends on sensor size, lens quality, stabilization behavior, autofocus, processing, exposure consistency, low-light performance, video modes and the camera app. The cited OPPO page does not provide an independent comparison against the Galaxy S26 Ultra, so a purchase decision should not turn the three 50MP labels into a guaranteed camera ranking.

The camera layout is still useful for matching a phone to your habits:
- Ultra-wide: useful for architecture, landscapes and group shots when you cannot step back. OPPO specifies a 116-degree field of view.
- Wide: the general-purpose camera. OPPO lists optical image stabilization, which can help reduce blur from hand movement, although it does not guarantee sharp results in every scene.
- Telephoto: useful for framing distant subjects without relying solely on digital cropping. OPPO lists optical image stabilization here as well.
- Front camera: the 50MP specification may appeal to selfie and video-call users, but resolution does not predict skin-tone rendering, autofocus or stabilization.
For a fair camera comparison, use the same lighting, focal-length category and software version, and look for independent samples. Manufacturer specifications should tell you what hardware is present, not settle the quality question.
Regional versions can change the buying decision
The Reno16 5G specifications cited here are from OPPO’s UAE page. That page lists a 12 GB + 256 GB configuration, but it should not be treated as a universal description of every Reno16 sold worldwide. TechRadar’s review reports that memory and storage configurations differ across markets and gives UK-specific launch context.
TechRadar reports a July 2026 release and a UK price of £649 for the Reno16 5G. It also reports that the standard Reno16 was not sold directly in the United States at the time of its review. These are dated secondary-source statements, not live inventory or current pricing. Prices, stock, promotions, carrier support and available colors can change after publication.

Before ordering, verify all of the following in your own country:
- Exact model name and model code, including whether the listing is Reno16 5G, Reno16 Pro or another generation.
- RAM and storage capacity. Do not assume that a UAE 12 GB + 256 GB listing matches a UK, US or other regional SKU.
- 5G and LTE bands supported by your carrier.
- Warranty coverage and who handles repairs in your country.
- Charger, case and SIM configuration in the box. OPPO says the UAE box may include the phone, charger, USB cable, SIM ejector, protective case and guides, but contents may vary by market.
- Software language, payment features and any region-specific restrictions.
A low imported price can become poor value if the phone lacks your carrier’s bands, has no local warranty or arrives without the accessories you expected.
Software and accessory considerations
OPPO’s UAE specification page names ColorOS 16.0 for the Reno16 5G. The page does not establish how long that particular regional configuration will receive updates, so do not infer a support period from the version number alone. Ask the seller or OPPO’s local support channel for the update policy that applies to your market and model code.
Accessory fit is another reason to identify the phone precisely. A case cut for Reno16 may not align with the cameras, buttons or charging port of a Reno16 Pro or Find X model. OPPO’s UK accessories catalog lists an “OPPO Reno16/16 Pro Magnetic Protective Case,” but the combined naming does not remove the need to check the exact compatibility list. OPPO also lists a SUPERVOOC power adapter in its UK accessories catalog; whether you need it depends on your region, the charger supplied and your charging requirements.
How to decide between a compact Reno candidate and a wide phone
Pick the Reno16 5G if these priorities dominate
- You want a body around 72.42 mm wide rather than a phone around 78 mm wide.
- One-handed reach, lower weight and pocket comfort matter more than maximum screen area.
- You value a dedicated ultra-wide, wide and telephoto camera arrangement on the cited specification sheet.
- The Reno16 5G is officially sold in your country with the storage, warranty and network support you need.
- You are comfortable treating manufacturer camera claims as a feature list rather than proof of superior image quality.
Pick the Galaxy S26 Ultra class if these priorities dominate
- You want a 6.9-inch-class display and accept a 78.1 mm-wide, 214 g body.
- Maps, documents, video editing, gaming or split-screen apps benefit from additional physical screen area.
- You prefer an adaptive 1–120 Hz QHD+ display specification and are willing to carry a larger phone.
- You usually type with two hands or use a stand, desk or vehicle mount, reducing the penalty of extra width.
Choose neither until the listing is verified
- The seller calls the product “Reno X” but provides no official model code.
- The price is quoted without a country, currency, storage capacity or warranty terms.
- The listing combines Reno and Find X specifications or uses photographs from a different model.
- The phone is imported and the seller cannot confirm carrier bands, software region or return rights.
A practical pre-purchase comparison process
- Capture the exact identity. Record the full model name, model code, RAM, storage and market. For the Reno16 5G example, the UAE page identifies CPH2865.
- Measure your tolerance for width. Compare 72.42 mm and 78.1 mm on a ruler or use a dummy handset. Include the case you intend to use.
- Check weight in context. Compare the Reno16 5G’s 182–193 g range with the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 214 g, then add the weight of a case or grip.
- Match the screen to your tasks. Decide whether you need compact reach or a larger canvas for documents, maps, video and gaming.
- Audit the camera evidence. Separate listed hardware—such as three 50MP rear cameras—from independent photo and video testing.
- Validate regional details. Confirm price, availability, bands, warranty, storage and box contents for the country where the phone will be used.
- Check accessories before checkout. Verify case and charger compatibility by model code, not by a retailer’s broad “Reno” label.
- Recheck volatile information. The £649 UK figure and July 2026 launch context reported by TechRadar are dated; compare them with the current local listing before making a payment.
Other OPPO choices if Reno16 is not what you meant
TechRadar’s 2026 OPPO roundup names the Find X9 Ultra and Reno13 Pro as other OPPO choices and presents the Reno13 Pro as a value option in the context of newer models. Those are editorial assessments, not manufacturer guarantees, and they do not resolve which phone your “Reno X” reference describes. If your intended model is one of those, compare its official dimensions, regional SKU, camera hardware, software policy and current price separately rather than borrowing Reno16 numbers.

Common mistakes to avoid
Confusing display diagonal with body width
A phone can have a large diagonal while remaining relatively narrow through aspect-ratio choices, or a smaller diagonal while feeling broad because of bezels and proportions. Always compare width, height, thickness, weight and display diagonal together.
Assuming a camera count proves camera quality
Three 50MP cameras sound comprehensive, but they do not reveal sensor performance, processing or consistency. Treat the OPPO list as a description of available focal lengths and stabilization, not a benchmark.
Using one market’s specification as a global promise
The Reno16 5G figures cited here come from the UAE page, while the UK price and US availability comments come from a dated TechRadar review. A phone sold in another country may have different storage, packaging, network support or sales channels.

Buying a case or charger by family name alone
Reno16, Reno16 Pro and Find X models can differ in camera cutouts and dimensions. Confirm the exact model before ordering an accessory.
Verdict: identify the phone, then choose the size class
There is no responsible single winner for “Oppo Reno X” because the model name is not confirmed. If the intended phone is the Reno16 5G, its approximately 72.42 mm width, 182–193 g listed weight range and 6.32-inch display make it the more hand-friendly choice in this comparison. If your priority is the largest practical canvas for reading, maps, games and two-thumb typing, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 78.1 mm width, 214 g weight and 6.9-inch-class display justify accepting the extra bulk.
Make the purchase only after the exact OPPO model, market SKU, current local price, network compatibility and warranty are verified. The width decision is straightforward; the unresolved model identity is the issue that must be settled first.
