The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is still compelling if you want broad camera coverage, a high-resolution display and a large battery—but it is now an older, China-market model, so the value depends as much on the import deal and local support as on the hardware. Android Authority’s reviewer praised its main camera and 6× telephoto results, while noting some telephoto processing quirks. Before buying, confirm the exact model, network compatibility, warranty and return terms in your country.
Verdict: should you buy the OPPO Find X8 Ultra?
Consider it if the four-camera setup and long-range telephoto options are your priority, and you can buy from a seller whose price, return policy and support you trust. Skip it if you need straightforward local warranty coverage, easy repairs, or assured carrier and software compatibility. The Find X9 Ultra has since succeeded it, and TechRadar describes that newer generation as OPPO’s first Ultra launch globally; that does not establish current availability or support for the X8 Ultra in any specific country.
Android Authority’s reviewer, Paul Jones, called the X8 Ultra’s cameras potentially the best Android had to offer in 2025. That is an editorial assessment, not a measured comparison or a guarantee that its images will suit every user. The core trade-off remains clear: ambitious camera hardware and substantial headline specifications against import uncertainty and a heavy body.

The camera system is the phone’s strongest reason to seek it out. OPPO’s specification and Android Authority’s review describe four dedicated 50 MP rear cameras: a one-inch-type main camera, an ultrawide camera, and 3× and 6× telephoto cameras. This range gives you more distinct framing choices than a setup that relies on cropping from one telephoto lens.

In Android Authority’s review, Jones praised the main camera and 6× results. He also observed slight oversharpening or oversaturation in some telephoto images. Treat those as reviewer impressions from the tested device, rather than a universal result across lighting, subjects or software versions.
The review also found the shortcut camera/control button limited. If you expect a physical control to make camera operation substantially faster or more versatile, that limitation may matter more than it would to someone who primarily uses the screen controls.

The 6.82-inch, high-resolution display and 120 Hz maximum refresh rate are well suited to viewing photos and other detailed content. The 226 g weight and large dimensions are the cost in everyday handling: this is not a compact phone.

The battery and charging figures are substantial on paper, but the cited sources do not provide an independently measured battery-life result or a comparable charge-time test. Do not infer all-day endurance or a full-charge time from capacity and maximum charger output alone.

What makes the China-market model risky to import?
Business Standard reported the Find X8 Ultra’s China launch in April 2025, with a starting price of CNY 6,499 at launch. That is a historical launch price, not a current street price or a reliable guide to what an import should cost now. Android Authority described official availability as limited to China at the time of its review and advised import buyers to weigh price and carrier compatibility.

How does the Find X9 Ultra change the buying decision?
The X9 Ultra is the successor, so the X8 Ultra should be evaluated as an older generation rather than as OPPO’s current Ultra model. TechRadar says the X9 Ultra is the first Ultra generation launched globally. That distinction does not mean the X8 Ultra is now sold or supported in every market, nor does it establish which model is the better value at today’s local prices.
Compare the actual offers available to you: camera focal-length coverage and image output, battery and charging claims, display and handling, software localization, and the seller’s warranty and network support. The X8 Ultra only makes sense when its import price and support risks are acceptable to you—not simply because its original launch price looks attractive.
