Short answer: these are not three phones in one price tier. A dated October 2026 listing put the OPPO F35 5G at ₹38,999, while Samsung’s Galaxy A17 5G launched from ₹18,999 and Samsung’s Galaxy A26 5G launched at ₹22,999. Choose the F35 only if its very large battery, 80W charging and 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera justify paying substantially more. Choose the A17 when value, rear-camera optical image stabilisation (OIS), expandable storage and Samsung’s published update commitment matter most. Choose the A26 when you want Samsung’s 120Hz display and IP67 rating and can move above the A17 tier.
This is an India-market comparison of the OPPO F35 5G, Samsung Galaxy A17 5G and Samsung Galaxy A26 5G. Prices are dated snapshots or launch prices, not guaranteed checkout prices. The available evidence consists of manufacturer specifications and one secondary price report; it does not include independent camera, battery or performance testing.
What the three phones actually are
“Samsung Galaxy A series” is a product family, not one specification. The practical Samsung alternatives in this comparison are the entry-oriented Galaxy A17 5G and the step-up Galaxy A26 5G. They differ in display refresh rate, camera hardware and water-resistance rating, so treating the whole A series as a single rival to the OPPO F35 would give a misleading answer.

The OPPO F35 5G is positioned higher by the reported India price. Gadgets 360 reported a starting price of ₹38,999 and an Amazon listing at that amount on 13 October 2026, with a reported release date of 5 October 2026. Samsung announced the A17 in India on 3 September 2025 with launch prices of ₹18,999 for 6GB/128GB, ₹20,499 for 8GB/128GB and ₹23,499 for 8GB/256GB. A Samsung India purchase-page result observed on 13 October 2026 displayed ₹26,999 for a 6GB/128GB configuration. Samsung launched the A26 in India at ₹22,999 on 24 March 2025. Because these dates and configurations differ, compare the exact listing and memory variant at checkout rather than subtracting launch prices from a current F35 listing.

The F35 battery figure needs careful wording: “8000mAh” is OPPO’s typical-equivalent label, while the same page gives 7820mAh as the equivalent rated value. It should not be silently presented as a conventional 8000mAh rated capacity. Samsung’s 5000mAh figures are typical capacities.
OPPO F35 5G: what you are paying for
A battery designed around endurance and fast top-ups
The F35’s headline hardware is its 8000mAh typical-equivalent battery and 80W SUPERVOOC charging. OPPO’s India product page gives the equivalent rated value as 7820mAh. That is a materially larger battery specification than the 5000mAh units in both Samsung models, and the 80W charging system is the fastest charging claim among these three phones.
OPPO also publishes laboratory figures for the F35: “38 Days” standby, 26.6 hours of online video scrolling, 14.1 hours of MOBA gaming and 11.8 hours of video calling. These are OPPO’s own 2026 page figures under its stated test conditions. They are not independent results, and they cannot be directly ranked against Samsung’s separate “up to” playback estimates because the test protocols are not common.

A wide selfie view
The front camera is a 50MP ultra-wide unit. That design is useful when several people need to fit into one selfie, when you are recording yourself at arm’s length, or when a travel scene should remain visible around the subject. Megapixel count alone does not establish image quality, low-light performance or stabilisation; no independent F35 camera comparison is available here.
Rear camera and screen
On the back, OPPO lists a 50MP main camera. The phone has a 16.69cm AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The combination targets people who value a large panel, smooth scrolling and selfie framing more than a multi-camera rear setup with documented OIS.
Processor and long-term smoothness wording
OPPO lists MediaTek’s Dimensity 6360 MAX. The cited product page says six-year smoothness protection is supported on the 256GB configuration and above, while the 128GB version is described as supporting up to five years. This is an OPPO testing and product-positioning claim about smoothness, not a promise of six Android-version upgrades or six years of security patches. Confirm the storage configuration before relying on the claim.

Resistance claims and their limits
OPPO describes IP66, IP68 and IP69 testing under listed conditions and an IP69K test. Those are manufacturer-reported test results, not a blanket guarantee against every liquid or dust incident. OPPO warns not to charge the phone while it is wet and says resistance can decrease through wear. Do not interpret the ratings as permission to deliberately immerse the handset, use it in salt water or assume that liquid damage will always be covered.
Samsung Galaxy A17 5G: the value-focused option
Display, cameras and storage
The A17 uses a 6.7-inch-class Super AMOLED panel specified at 1080 × 2340 resolution and up to 90Hz. Its rear array combines a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera. OIS can help reduce hand movement in still photos and video, particularly in dim scenes, although the specification alone does not predict final image quality. The front camera is 13MP.
Samsung lists microSD expansion up to 2TB on the cited configuration. That matters if you keep downloaded video, photographs or offline maps locally and do not want to replace the phone when internal storage fills. Check the exact regional tray and variant before buying, because the detailed cited page is for 8GB/256GB and Samsung also sells other memory combinations.
Battery, charging and what is in the box
The A17 has a 5000mAh typical battery. Samsung’s India launch material states 25W fast charging. The cited in-box details list the phone, a data cable and a SIM-ejection pin; the travel adapter is not included. If you do not already own a compatible 25W adapter, include that separate purchase in the real cost. The F35’s India box contents and adapter inclusion were not established, so do not assume its 80W charger is supplied.
Software support and protection
Samsung says the A17 receives six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates. Its product listing records security support through 31 August 2031. These are Samsung’s published commitments; they do not independently guarantee that every future application will run identically or that battery health will remain unchanged for six years.

Historical and observed prices
Samsung’s 3 September 2025 launch prices were ₹18,999 for 6GB/128GB, ₹20,499 for 8GB/128GB and ₹23,499 for 8GB/256GB. A 6GB/128GB purchase-page result showed ₹26,999 on 13 October 2026. The latter is an observed page price, not a guaranteed offer, and sales, bank discounts and stock can change it.
Samsung Galaxy A26 5G: the step-up Samsung choice
The smoother display and stronger rating
The A26 raises the display refresh ceiling to 120Hz while retaining a 1080 × 2340 Super AMOLED panel. It is the Samsung choice here for readers who specifically want 120Hz scrolling rather than the A17’s 90Hz. Samsung also states an IP67 dust and water-resistance rating and Gorilla Glass Victus+.
Rear camera stabilisation
The rear system is a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP camera. The main-camera stabilisation and larger ultra-wide resolution are the meaningful specification differences from the A17; they still do not substitute for independent image samples.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsBattery and support
The A26 uses a 5000mAh typical battery. Samsung’s launch newsroom states six operating-system upgrades and six years of security updates, matching the A17’s published support duration. The available A26 material does not establish a current India price; ₹22,999 is its 24 March 2025 launch price only.
How the important buying decisions differ
Price and value
On the dated evidence, the F35 starts far above both Samsung launch tiers. Paying ₹38,999 is rational only when the battery and charging system, wide selfie camera or OPPO-specific design are central requirements. If the primary objective is a capable 5G phone at a lower outlay, the A17 is the natural starting point. The A26 occupies a middle step at its historical launch price, but its current street price must be checked before declaring it cheaper or more expensive than an A17 promotion.
Battery endurance versus charging convenience
Choose the F35 for the largest stated battery and fastest stated charging. Choose either Samsung when a 5000mAh typical battery is sufficient and you prefer to spend less. Do not convert OPPO’s laboratory hours into a promise of your own screen-on time, and do not compare those hours with Samsung figures unless both brands publish results from the same protocol.
Rank #4

- Android 16, ColorOS 16, Qualcomm SM6450 Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (4 nm), Octa-core (4x2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A55)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/1.95", 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS, 8 MP, f/2.2, 16mm, 112˚ (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, 2 MP (macro), Front: 50 MP, f/2.0, 100˚, 18mm (ultrawide), AF
Selfies versus stabilised rear photography
The F35’s 50MP ultra-wide front camera is the standout for group selfies and broad self-recording frames. Both Samsung models document OIS on the 50MP rear main camera, giving them a specification advantage for steadier handheld rear shots. The A17 adds a 5MP ultra-wide and the A26 an 8MP ultra-wide; the F35’s cited rear-camera specification lists only its 50MP main camera.
Display smoothness
The F35 and A26 both specify up to 120Hz, while the A17 specifies up to 90Hz. Refresh rate is a ceiling, not a guarantee that every application will run at that rate; software, brightness and battery settings can change actual behaviour.
Water and dust exposure
For a Samsung buyer, the A26’s IP67 rating is the clearest documented step above the A17’s IP54. The F35 lists several higher-number IP tests, but OPPO’s own warnings still apply: do not charge it wet, and resistance can decline as the phone ages. None of these labels makes deliberate liquid exposure risk-free.
Storage expansion
The A17’s cited configuration supports microSD cards up to 2TB, a practical advantage for users with large media libraries. The available F35 and A26 specifications do not establish equivalent expandable-storage support, so confirm the exact model listing before assuming a card slot.
Support horizon
Samsung publishes six Android upgrades and six years of security updates for both the A17 and A26, with the A17 listing a security period through 31 August 2031. OPPO’s F35 statement concerns smoothness for a specified storage tier and should not be treated as an equivalent software-update commitment.

Which phone fits each type of buyer?
Pick the OPPO F35 5G when these are your priorities
- You regularly need a very large battery and want 80W charging for shorter top-up sessions.
- You take group selfies or self-record video where an ultra-wide front view is more useful than a conventional selfie camera.
- You are comfortable with a reported ₹38,999 starting price and have confirmed the exact storage variant and charger situation.
- You understand that OPPO’s six-year smoothness language depends on 256GB-and-above storage and is not a six-year Android/security promise.
Pick the Galaxy A17 5G when these are your priorities
- Your budget is closer to Samsung’s ₹18,999–₹23,499 launch range or a current discounted A17 listing.
- You want OIS on the 50MP rear main camera and a microSD slot listed for up to 2TB.
- You value Samsung’s published six Android upgrades and six years of security updates.
- A 90Hz Super AMOLED display and 5000mAh battery meet your needs.
Pick the Galaxy A26 5G when these are your priorities
- You want Samsung’s 120Hz Super AMOLED display without moving to the F35’s reported price.
- IP67 and Gorilla Glass Victus+ are more important to you than the A17’s lower launch tier.
- You want a 50MP OIS main camera paired with an 8MP ultra-wide.
- You are willing to verify the current price because ₹22,999 is only the India launch figure.
Buying checklist before you pay
- Identify the exact model and memory. Confirm whether the listing is F35 128GB or 256GB, A17 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB or 8GB/256GB, or the A26 configuration offered in your region.
- Compare the checkout total. Recheck the phone price, bank discount, exchange condition, delivery charge and return terms. Do not use the historical A17 or A26 launch prices as current quotes.
- Check the adapter. Samsung’s A17 box details exclude the travel adapter. Confirm whether an OPPO F35 80W-compatible adapter is included before ordering a separate one; compatibility and box contents were not established in the available F35 information.
- Match the camera to your use. Choose the F35 for the stated ultra-wide front camera, or either Samsung for documented OIS on the rear main camera.
- Confirm storage strategy. If you rely on a memory card, verify that the exact A17 listing includes the microSD support described by Samsung. Do not assume unverified expansion on the other models.
- Read the water-resistance terms. Keep ports dry, never charge a wet phone and remember that manufacturer ratings are test conditions, not insurance against liquid damage.
- Check update information after setup. For Samsung, record the published support period and install updates from the phone’s software-update screen. For OPPO, distinguish the smoothness claim from an operating-system or security-update schedule.
What this comparison cannot prove
Specifications do not establish which phone takes better photographs, lasts longer in an individual’s routine, stays cooler in games, has louder speakers or feels faster in every application. No independent OPPO-versus-Samsung benchmark, camera shootout or common battery test was available for this comparison. OPPO’s endurance numbers are conditional laboratory figures from its 2026 product page, and Samsung’s support statements are company commitments rather than independent guarantees of future app performance.
Best Value
- Applicable models: Designed specifically for OPPO F35 Pro 5G, please confirm your phone model before purchasing. The precise cutouts on the OPPO F35 Pro 5G case provide access to all buttons, cameras, speakers and microphones. You can buy with confidence.
- We insist on using environmentally friendly synthetic leather materials and TPU inner shells, which feel soft and comfortable, and the texture gives the PU leather of the phone case a layered feel. Make the OPPO F35 Pro 5G cover look more retro.
- Protection function: The inner shell is made of soft TPU, which has strong impact resistance to prevent collisions and scratches. The reliable hidden double-sided magnetic closure provides protection when your smartphone accidentally falls.
- Wallet function: This OPPO F35 Pro 5G wallet case is a combination of a phone case and a wallet, with card slots for ID cards, credit cards, business cards and 1 side pocket for cash. You can go out comfortably without carrying a bulky wallet.
- Bracket function: This OPPO F35 Pro 5G phone case can be turned into a horizontal phone stand with a tilt function. You can watch videos or movies at the best angle for a comfortable visual experience.
The practical verdict therefore depends on priorities rather than a numeric winner: the F35 buys battery scale, charging speed and a wide selfie view; the A17 buys lower-tier pricing, OIS, expandable storage and a published support plan; the A26 buys a 120Hz Samsung display, IP67 and a stronger rear-camera specification than the A17. Verify live prices, stock, variant, charger and warranty terms immediately before placing the order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the OPPO F35 5G really a budget phone in India?
Not at the dated price available for this comparison. Gadgets 360 reported ₹38,999 as the India starting price on 13 October 2026, well above Samsung’s A17 launch range and the A26’s ₹22,999 launch price. That makes the F35 a higher-priced alternative whose battery and charging features must justify the premium.
Which has better battery hardware, the OPPO F35 or Samsung Galaxy A17?
The F35 has the larger stated battery and faster stated charging: 8000mAh typical-equivalent (7820mAh equivalent rated) with 80W SUPERVOOC, versus the A17’s 5000mAh typical battery and Samsung-stated 25W fast charging. OPPO’s published endurance hours are laboratory figures and are not directly comparable with Samsung estimates.
Does the Galaxy A17 have expandable storage?
Samsung lists microSD support up to 2TB on the cited A17 configuration. Confirm that the exact RAM/storage variant and regional listing you are buying has the same slot and support.
Which Samsung model has the higher refresh-rate display?
The Galaxy A26 5G supports up to 120Hz, while the Galaxy A17 5G supports up to 90Hz. The OPPO F35 also lists up to 120Hz.
Does OPPO promise six years of Android updates for the F35?
No such promise is established here. OPPO’s cited wording is a six-year smoothness-protection claim for the 256GB configuration and above, with up to five years described for 128GB. Samsung, by contrast, publishes six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the A17 and A26.
