Find the menu on a phone or tablet
The main menu button’s location depends on Opera’s layout: Opera says it appears at the bottom in phone layout and at the top in tablet layout. The help page does not confirm the exact position of the Desktop site control in every layout, so look for the three-dot menu while the webpage is open. See Opera’s Android FAQ for its layout guidance.

What the setting changes
Opera describes Desktop site as a request for the desktop version of a website, and says it applies to websites in the current tab. Its instructions do not establish that enabling it changes the default for every tab.
If you use Opera Touch
Opera Touch has a separate help page that also describes a Desktop site slider while browsing and says it applies to websites in that tab. Its menu description is different, so follow the instructions for the app you have rather than assuming the Opera for Android steps are identical. See Opera Touch’s Page view help.
