OnlyHands is an announced, unreleased 1v1 fighting game built around music artists. Nothing Projects Interactive and Republic Records are developing it for iOS and Android, with an initial release targeted for 2027. Metro Boomin is the face of Season 01, a playable fighter, the season’s cover artist and an executive producer.
What OnlyHands is—and what it is not
OnlyHands is designed as a real-time, one-on-one fighting game in which recognizable artists anchor both the roster and the fiction. It is not a downloadable game available today, and no verified retail product, boxed edition or official price has been announced. The current announcement describes a mobile-only launch for Apple and Android devices.
The concept goes beyond putting celebrity names on conventional character models. The stated combat direction emphasizes spacing, timing and player skill, while each artist is intended to have an original visual identity, fighting style, moves, music and storyline. That makes the game’s eventual success dependent on whether those differences affect how matches are played, rather than serving only as visual decoration.

Is Metro Boomin playable?
Yes. Metro Boomin has a dual role: he is involved in the project’s creative leadership as executive producer and is also an in-game fighter. He is the face of the first season and appears as its cover artist, so his character is central to the initial presentation rather than a merely promotional cameo.

How Metro’s reported mechanic works
Pocket Gamer reports a Metro-specific “compression” meter. As the meter fills, the crowd quiets and the camera moves closer. Metro’s recovery becomes slower and his openings become easier for an opponent to punish. The description does not present this as a simple final “rage” transformation; the fight remains governed by Metro’s pace, requiring players to manage timing and spacing as the state develops.
That mechanic is still a reported design detail, not a complete explanation of Metro’s move list or balance. The developers have not published a full control scheme, frame data, match length or accessibility specification.

How the announced combat system is supposed to feel
The broad pitch is a skill-focused 1v1 game. Spacing should determine when an attack can connect or be avoided; timing should govern counters, recoveries and punish windows; and artist-specific abilities should give each fighter a distinct game plan. Music and story are also intended to be part of each character’s identity.
When playable builds or fuller specifications arrive, these are the practical questions to use when judging the design:

- Character differentiation: Do artists have genuinely different strengths, weaknesses and move interactions?
- Roster support: Does the game add fighters at a sustainable cadence, and does the roster remain balanced as it grows?
- Fair monetization: Can competitive players access meaningful options without paying for power?
- Use of music and story: Do those elements change the match or progression systems, or are they only presentation layers?

What prospective players should watch next
The next useful announcements would be a confirmed launch roster, a hands-on control demonstration, minimum device specifications, the monetization model and the regions included at launch. Those details will determine whether OnlyHands works as a competitive mobile fighter or primarily as a music-driven character showcase.
For now, the clearest description is a Metro Boomin-led, artist-centered fighting game with a planned 2027 mobile release. The project has shown a recognizable cast and a distinctive compression mechanic, but its final content, price and availability are still to be announced.
