The OnePlus Nord CE5 5G is the battery-and-charging-focused choice on OnePlus India’s published specifications, while the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is listed as slimmer and carries the higher ingress-protection rating. Neither is a universal winner: choose based on your local model and price, plus whether battery capacity and charging or durability, body size, and software support matter more to you.

Which phone makes more sense for you?
Choose the Nord CE5 if battery capacity and charging are priorities
For the India version, OnePlus lists a 7,100 mAh battery and 80 W SUPERVOOC charging. That is a substantial paper advantage over the Galaxy A36’s 5,000 mAh and up-to-45 W figures in comparison listings. Capacity and charging ratings do not, by themselves, establish real-world battery life or charging time: those depend on usage, conditions, and the local phone and charger configuration.

OnePlus also lists four Android version updates and six years of security updates for the India-market Nord CE5. Treat those as separate commitments: the Android-version count is not the same as the security-update period.

Choose the Galaxy A36 if a slimmer body or higher listed IP rating matters more
Comparison listings put the A36 at about 7.4 mm thick and 195 g, versus about 8.27 mm and 199 g for the Nord CE5. They also list IP67 for the A36 and IP65 for the Nord CE5. These ratings indicate different levels of ingress protection under specified test conditions; neither means a phone is waterproof or guaranteed safe in every exposure.
Comparison sources report six years of OS updates for the A36. Confirm the current wording for your region with Samsung, since support terms and product specifications can vary by market.

Do not choose on chipset or camera counts alone
The phones use different processors: the Nord CE5 has a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex, while the A36 is listed with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The available figures here do not establish a reliable head-to-head performance winner. OnePlus publishes an AnTuTu result of 1,474,030 for its 12 GB variant in Performance Mode, measured in OnePlus Test Labs; it is a vendor test, not an independent comparison with the A36.
Both phones are listed with a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. The A36’s additional 5 MP macro camera is another lens option, not evidence by itself of better photography. The listed front-camera resolutions—16 MP for the Nord CE5 and 12 MP for the A36—also do not establish which takes better selfies.

How the screens and physical differences compare
Both models are listed with 120 Hz displays around 6.7 inches, so screen size and refresh rate alone do not sharply separate them. OnePlus specifies a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel and lists HDR10+ and 1,300-nit HBM; comparison listings describe the A36’s 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen as FHD+. Samsung’s official press page describes the diagonal as 6.7 inches measured in the full rectangle. [Samsung Mobile Press]
Those labels and headline figures are not a substitute for a matched display test. If brightness, color, or outdoor readability is decisive, check the local specifications and independent testing for the exact versions you can buy.

What is the price difference?
There is no dependable universal price gap in the available listings. Prices vary by country, seller, stock status, RAM and storage configuration, and date. At the time of the comparison information reviewed, 91mobiles showed both phones out of stock at listed prices, while Smartprix showed different prices and said its details were last updated September 28, 2026. Listings for different memory configurations also surfaced different amounts. These are volatile third-party offers, not fixed official prices. [91mobiles] [Smartprix]
To calculate a useful difference, compare live offers in the same country for the same RAM and storage, and note the seller and date. Do not treat an out-of-stock listing or a different configuration as the price you will actually pay.

Check your local model before buying
Regional listings for the Nord CE5 have surfaced battery figures that differ from OnePlus India’s 7,100 mAh claim. Do not assume the India specification applies to every market. Confirm the exact SKU’s battery, charging rate, network bands, memory, charger, and box contents with the seller or regional OnePlus page. [OnePlus India]
OnePlus India says its version includes a protective case and a pre-applied screen protector; package contents may differ elsewhere. Samsung’s official product page identifies the Galaxy A36 5G, but detailed values in this comparison come from third-party listings, so verify the local Samsung specification and support pages before purchasing.
