Neither set of specifications proves which phone lasts longer or takes better photos in everyday use. Price is market-specific: OnePlus lists the Nord 5 from ₹33,999 in India, while Samsung announced a US starting price of $549.99 for the A57.

Which phone has the better display?
Nord 5 has the higher advertised maximum refresh rate: 144 Hz versus up to 120 Hz on the A57. A higher refresh rate can make supported animations and scrolling look smoother, but it does not establish better color, brightness, clarity or viewing quality. The available specifications also describe different resolutions and screen-size information: OnePlus India lists 1.5K AMOLED, while Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ panel.

Which phone has the better battery and charging?
Nord 5 has a 6,800 mAh stated capacity and 80W wired charging on OnePlus India’s page. Samsung lists 5,000 mAh as the A57’s typical capacity and says its Super Fast Charging 2.0 can reach up to 60% in about 30 minutes. Samsung Gulf gives a rated minimum capacity of 4,905 mAh. These figures use different capacity descriptions and do not by themselves predict how long either phone lasts.
Samsung cites a UX Connect Research battery assessment conducted from January 8 to January 18, 2026, in the UK, using pre-release SM-A576 units with default settings over LTE and 5G Sub6. The assessment did not test 5G mmWave. Samsung notes battery life depends on network conditions, applications and usage, so its “2 days” characterization is not a guaranteed result for every owner. The cited material does not provide a comparable independent test of both phones.
Samsung says the charger is sold separately in its US announcement. Check the box contents for the exact country and seller before assuming a charger is included.

How do the cameras compare?
The A57 has a more explicitly differentiated rear-camera set: a 50 MP wide camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and a 5 MP macro camera. Samsung Gulf lists optical image stabilization for the main camera. That gives the A57 a dedicated ultra-wide option for fitting more into a frame and a macro camera for close-up subjects.

OnePlus advertises a 50 MP rear camera, a 50 MP front camera, low-light features and 4K video at up to 60 fps. Samsung lists a 12 MP front camera. These megapixel counts do not establish which phone produces better photos: sensor behavior, image processing, stabilization and lighting all matter. No controlled head-to-head camera test is established by the cited sources.
Which phone is more durable?
Samsung states that the Galaxy A57 5G is IP68 rated. Its product information describes testing in up to 1.5 m of freshwater for up to 30 minutes and cautions that resistance can diminish over time. This is a laboratory rating, not a promise that a phone is waterproof or safe from every kind of liquid exposure.
The cited OnePlus India product information does not establish an IP rating for the Nord 5. That means this comparison cannot confirm an equivalent protection rating for the OnePlus model; verify the precise regional model’s documentation if water and dust resistance is a deciding factor.

Samsung advertises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, plus up to six years of security updates, for the A57. OnePlus advertises four Android version upgrades and six years of security updates for Nord 5. On the stated commitments, Samsung offers more major OS upgrades, while both manufacturers advertise six years of security updates.

“Up to” is important: Samsung says availability and timing of updates may vary by model and market. Confirm the policy for the phone sold in your country rather than assuming every regional configuration receives updates on the same schedule.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the price difference?
The cited prices are not a like-for-like comparison. OnePlus India lists the Nord 5 from ₹33,999. Samsung’s US announcement gives the Galaxy A57 5G a starting price of $549.99 unlocked and says US availability begins April 9, 2026. The Indian rupee price and US dollar launch price refer to different markets, and the cited information does not establish matching storage configurations or current retailer offers. Do not treat the currencies as directly comparable or infer a saving from these two figures.
To find a meaningful local difference, compare the phones in the same country, on the same date, with equivalent memory and storage, and note whether you are using a manufacturer price or a retailer offer. Samsung says A57 storage configurations and availability vary by country, region and carrier. Its Gulf product page, for example, identifies an 8 GB/128 GB regional model; that is not a basis for assigning the US launch price to that configuration.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Nord 5 if the 144 Hz display, 6,800 mAh stated battery capacity, 80W charging, 50 MP front camera or advertised 4K 60 fps video best fits your priorities—and the local price and configuration work for you.
- Choose the Galaxy A57 5G if you want a dedicated ultra-wide rear camera, Samsung’s stated IP68 rating, or its advertised longer major-OS-upgrade commitment.
- Compare local listings before deciding if price is the deciding factor. The cited India and US prices cannot establish which phone is cheaper in your market.
Neither phone is a universal winner on the available specifications. The right choice depends on which trade-off matters more to you, and on the local model and price you can actually buy.
