In India, OnePlus lists the Nord 5 from ₹33,999, while Nothing’s Phone (4b) has an announced MRP of ₹34,999 for 8GB + 128GB and ₹38,999 for 8GB + 256GB. Nothing also quotes lower effective prices—₹29,999 and ₹33,699—but those depend on a stated 7.5% instant bank discount and an exchange offer. The two phones differ in display refresh rate, camera specifications, battery capacity, charging claims and software support; those manufacturer specifications do not by themselves establish which phone performs better in everyday use.
India prices: compare the same storage and offer conditions
OnePlus India currently advertises the Nord 5 “From ₹33,999.” The visible product-page information does not identify the storage configuration attached to that starting price, so it is not a confirmed like-for-like 8GB + 128GB price. Nothing’s 2026 announcement lists two Phone (4b) India configurations:
| # | Preview | Product | Price | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 |
|
OnePlus Nord N10 5G, 128GB + 6GB RAM, Midnight Ice - Unlocked (Renewed) | $114.92 | Buy on Amazon |
| 2 |

OnePlus Nord N20 5G, 128GB, Blue Smoke - Unlocked (GSM Only) (Renewed) | $126.44 | Buy on Amazon |
| Phone (4b) configuration | Nothing-announced MRP | Nothing-announced effective price |
|---|---|---|
| 8GB + 128GB | ₹34,999 | ₹29,999, including the stated 7.5% instant bank discount and exchange offer |
| 8GB + 256GB | ₹38,999 | ₹33,699, including the stated 7.5% instant bank discount and exchange offer |
The effective amounts are offer-dependent, not unconditional shelf prices. Confirm eligibility, exchange value and current availability before comparing a checkout total. The OnePlus figure is a starting price and should not be treated as the price of a particular storage option without checking the current listing. What the display and battery figures can—and cannot—tell you
Refresh rate is only one part of the display
The Nord 5’s advertised maximum is 144Hz; Nothing specifies adaptive refresh up to 120Hz on the Phone (4b). A higher refresh-rate number alone does not show which screen looks better. Resolution, brightness, outdoor visibility, calibration and the way adaptive refresh behaves also affect the experience; the cited specifications do not provide a controlled, independent display comparison.
Capacity and charging ratings are not endurance tests
OnePlus advertises a larger India-listed battery capacity and higher charging wattage than Nothing specifies for the Phone (4b). Those claims do not establish which phone lasts longer in real use or how quickly each charges across a full session. Screen use, network conditions, software and charging behavior all matter, and no comparable independent endurance or charging test is established here.
Camera and performance claims need real-world testing
Camera numbers do not determine photo quality
The Nord 5’s advertised 50MP front and rear cameras and 4K 60fps mode differ from Nothing’s listed 50MP OIS main camera, ultra-wide and front-camera specifications, with 4K 30fps recording. Megapixels and maximum video frame rates do not settle which phone produces better photos or video. A fair verdict would require comparable sample images and footage captured in controlled conditions.
Rank #2
- 5G Enabled - The OnePlus Nord N20 is the perfect entry-level 5G phone, featuring premium specs and an affordable price. *5G compatible with most GSM service providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Etc). Will not work with CDMA Carriers. Check with your service provider for compatibility.
- Display: Features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 128GB of storage and 68 minutes of battery life
- Camera: Includes a 5MP front camera and 5G connectivity for fast wireless speeds
- Memory: Comes with 6GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery for extended use
- Security: Equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure access
Chipset labels and gaming claims are not benchmarks
OnePlus identifies a Snapdragon 8-series platform, while Nothing identifies Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. The companies also make gaming-related performance claims, but those claims are not a direct, independent comparison. Without comparable benchmarks and sustained-load tests, the specifications alone do not establish which phone is faster or maintains performance better during longer gaming sessions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Software support and availability
OnePlus advertises four Android-version upgrades and six years of security updates for the Nord 5. Nothing says the Phone (4b) launches with Nothing OS 4.1, powered by Android 16, and receives three years of Android updates plus six years of security patches. Nothing calls this “the longest software support in its segment”; that is the company’s characterization, not an independently verified comparison. Check the terms applicable to your region.
Nothing’s announcement says the Phone (4b) India sale begins on Flipkart on 14 July 2026, with named additional retailers from 17 July; its global open sale begins 17 July 2026. The announcement lists 8GB + 128GB and an India-only 8GB + 256GB variant. Sale dates, stock and offers can change. Nothing’s India product page also presents an 8GB + 128GB configuration linked to Flipkart.

Which phone should you investigate?
- Consider the Nord 5 if its advertised 144Hz display, 4K 60fps recording, 80W charging or stated software-upgrade terms align with your priorities. Confirm the configuration and current price before purchase.
- Consider the Phone (4b) if Nothing’s software and design experience appeals to you, or if you qualify for the announced India offer price. Check the final price and exchange or bank-discount conditions at checkout.
These are feature-based reasons to compare the phones, not a tested overall winner. No controlled Nord 5 versus Phone (4b) results establish a winner for camera quality, gaming performance, battery endurance or charging speed.
