OnePlus has confirmed that it will officially introduce ColorOS 17 on October 14, 2026. That announcement is not the same as a rollout schedule: the official posts currently available do not name compatible OnePlus models, countries, carriers, or per-device update dates. Anyone waiting for a specific phone should treat eligibility and timing as unanswered until OnePlus publishes a dedicated list and timetable.
What OnePlus has actually announced
A OnePlus Community post dated October 13, 2026, says: “Tomorrow, we’ll officially introduce ColorOS 17, marking an important new chapter in our software journey.” “Tomorrow” refers to October 14, 2026. The wording announces an introduction, not the beginning of an over-the-air rollout for every eligible phone.

A September 2026 OnePlus Community FAQ gave the same practical answer to the question “When will ColorOS 17 be released?”: “Please stay tuned for the official news in the community.” That response did not provide a release day, device list, or regional schedule.

Not in the official information OnePlus has published. OnePlus has not published staged dates by model, country, carrier, or rollout phase. Therefore, October 14 should not be reported as the date your phone will receive ColorOS 17. It is the date OnePlus says it will introduce the software.

What “eligible devices” means right now
OnePlus’s operational-adjustment notice says existing OnePlus devices that fall within an eligible upgrade scope may voluntarily update to ColorOS 17 after its official release. The notice does not identify that scope by model, regional variant, country, or carrier. As a result, no responsible checklist can yet say that a particular OnePlus phone will receive ColorOS 17.
Devices outside the eventual scope are described as continuing to receive software maintenance. That promise does not mean those devices will receive the major operating-system upgrade, and it does not specify a new maintenance end date.
Do not use OxygenOS 16 lists as a substitute
OnePlus has published an official compatibility page for OxygenOS 16 and warns that timing can vary by model, country, and carrier. That information applies to OxygenOS 16 only. It is not evidence that any device on that page will receive ColorOS 17.

Likewise, a July 2026 OnePlus Community post lists a staged rollout and devices for a separate OxygenOS update. It demonstrates that OnePlus sometimes publishes model-by-model schedules, but it cannot supply missing ColorOS 17 dates or eligibility decisions.
What users can and cannot do before the announcement
Check official channels
Use the OnePlus Community and the company’s official software announcements for the first model list and rollout phases. Until a ColorOS 17 post names your exact model and market, third-party lists and screenshots should be treated as unverified.
Back up before choosing to switch
OnePlus says eligible users can choose whether to switch after release. Back up important data before accepting a major software change, and read the release notes for your exact variant when they appear.
Wait for rollback instructions
The operational-adjustment notice says rollback version details will be specified in a future announcement. Do not assume a particular rollback package, tool, or procedure will work until OnePlus publishes it for your model and region.

How to read the eventual rollout notice
When OnePlus publishes the detailed announcement, verify all of these fields rather than relying on a headline:
- Exact phone model and regional variant.
- Country or market and carrier status.
- Whether the notice covers ColorOS 17 itself or ongoing maintenance only.
- Rollout stage, start date, and any phased-availability conditions.
- Required software version, storage, battery, or enrollment steps.
- Documented rollback build and recovery process, if offered.
Bottom line on the “revealed schedule” claim
ColorOS 17 has an announced introduction date—October 14, 2026—but no confirmed rollout timetable or eligible-device list is available in OnePlus’s official material. Eligible existing devices are expected to have a voluntary upgrade path after release, while devices outside the scope are promised continued software maintenance. Wait for OnePlus to identify models and dates before deciding whether your phone is included.
